00:00Our next session, queen of content, woman who has shaped Indian screen for the last, what, 30 years?
00:08Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for Ekta Kapoor. We've already, we've begun well.
00:18Welcome Ekta. And also ladies and gentlemen, Ekta joins us at a time where she's fresh off her first national award win.
00:26So Ekta, take a bow. And we won't let you sit because we're going to make you take three bows.
00:31Because in the last, what, two and a half, three years, she's also the first woman who has, from India, who's won an Emmy,
00:38where woman direction is concerned, producer is concerned. And number three, Padmashri.
00:45So shall we call you a Padmashri Ekta Kapoor or is it okay we do miss Kapoor?
00:51Ekta. Okay.
00:53Okay. So once again, ladies and gentlemen, queen of content, sit, sit, sit, for the last 30 years, Ekta Kapoor.
01:02Ekta, you want to begin with the fact of coming fresh off Delhi? Did you even think, how many of you have seen Kathal, a jackfruit mystery?
01:10I have.
01:12A film like that?
01:13Guys, please go watch it today on Netflix. It's called Kathal. It's a dramedy, a satire on various things.
01:21And it's won the national award in Hindi film category.
01:26Did you ever think that a film like Kathal, a jackfruit mystery, Ekta would ever win the national award?
01:32Not in our wildest dreams. Not in our wildest dreams did we think a dramedy which takes serious potshots at the establishment would actually be not only nominated but would win from the jury best film award in the national awards.
01:53It's quite shocking and quite heartening actually.
01:56Did you believe it when you got that call?
01:59I saw it on the net.
02:01You're kidding me.
02:01I swear on you. I got a call from Gunit. I didn't take the call because I was in a meeting with my mom.
02:07And she sent me a message and I opened my phone and I was like, mom, I think we have won the national award for Kathal.
02:14She says, check again, check again. It's not possible. How are you winning? Isn't it a direct to digital film?
02:19It's gone to Netflix. I said, that's also a film.
02:22So, chances are that we have. Then we went and checked and we had won the national award.
02:29So, after that it was euphoria for an hour.
02:32No, because it was a satirical take on the establishment like you said.
02:36But wink, wink, nudge, nudge, Ekta also has somebody from the establishment that she's relaunched a show with.
02:44Okay, so how many of you have seen the second coming of Kyunki Saaz Bhi Kabhi Bahuti?
02:49Because I think Smitty Iran is looking fabulous, Ekta.
02:51So, the ratings are great, but that's all because of this beautiful woman called Smitty and the great recall the show has.
03:00You know, you've got to tell us how did you make it happen.
03:03How did, what was that call where Ekta Kapu, who picked up the call, who started the conversation, shall we do this?
03:10Shall we once again attempt it?
03:11Oh, me and Smitty have a lot of calls with each other, we have a lot of conversations here and then random things, parenting, motherhood, this, that.
03:21And I was like, you know, we're going to complete 25 years of Kyunki, it's going to be happening in the next, what, six months or eight months.
03:29And she said, yeah, man.
03:31I said, Smitty, you know, we were, we were off air because of a fight with Star.
03:37Now, Star is, it's not even first the promoters of Star have changed.
03:44It's Jio who also owns a share in Balaji.
03:47There's Uday sir, who we first had lots of issues with today.
03:51He's almost my mentor.
03:53I said, you know, 25 years and 18 years from the time the show was abruptly pulled off air,
03:58where we went to war, we went to an illegal battle with Star.
04:02I said, you know what, we have a couple of episodes before we reach 2000.
04:07And she said, let's just complete that 2000 number.
04:12Kyunki deserves that other shows have completed 3000 and 4000.
04:14You're kidding me.
04:16So it was actually Smitty Rani's idea to complete that number.
04:19I actually told her, I said, you know, yeah, we should complete it.
04:22And she said, yeah.
04:22I said, you're going to be so busy.
04:24You're going to torture the shit out of me.
04:27How will I get to shoot with you?
04:28She says, anything for Kyunki, yeah.
04:30I said, yeah, anything for Kyunki.
04:32And she's always had this, you know, like passion for the show,
04:36because it's also something that, you know, we have an emotional connect with.
04:40And you won't, I kid you not, everyone who was involved in the old Kyunki,
04:44came back at a heartbeat.
04:48That is tremendous.
04:49But I also have to add, you know, Ekta, because it was very brave of Smitty Rani to do what she did.
04:54Because you're an established politician.
04:56You've, you know, been in parliament.
04:58You've been a cabinet minister.
04:59You're very senior.
05:00Where it comes down to the establishment that we, you know, proverbially speak of.
05:04For her, very brave to make that decision, to come back to television,
05:09to give that kind of commitment, and to make it happen.
05:13Smriti is anything but not brave.
05:17She's one of the bravest women I know.
05:18And her bravado comes from her absolutely never say die spirit.
05:25She's willing to learn.
05:26She's willing to, I always tell her, you and I have a very big problem.
05:29We have huge thrill issues.
05:31We need to, like, push ourselves to, like, tests all the time.
05:37And it is the only way we keep ourselves alive.
05:42Well, alive and kicking.
05:44Because the numbers just came.
05:45I had a colleague who actually sent me the numbers list.
05:48I was thinking,
05:48But the numbers are doing phenomenally well.
05:54You're right up on the charts.
05:56So congratulations on that as well.
05:58I think it's also because,
06:00I think everyone is working very hard on the set.
06:02And everyone is pushing their limits.
06:06For us, it was basically taking on issues.
06:10We decided we're going to do a lot of issues on the show.
06:13And we are.
06:14We've taken on various judgments women are put through.
06:20Various perceptions.
06:22And we've tried to fight them.
06:24You know, you bring that up on a serious note.
06:27Because there is this one scene in one of the episodes of Kiyonki
06:32where you see Smiti Irani step onto the weighing scale.
06:37And she's clearly being body shamed,
06:39keeping in mind her husband is much thinner or fitter in the conventional term.
06:43And she isn't.
06:45And, you know, she is reflecting on that.
06:47So all of that content that you speak of,
06:49addressing certain issues,
06:51was it, you know, intentional?
06:54Extremely intentional.
06:55I remember I was in New York.
06:57And I remember seeing the episode.
06:58And I said, something's missing.
07:00And I called up the writer.
07:01And I said,
07:02I definitely want a scene when she goes on the weighing scale.
07:05I said,
07:05I said,
07:06I don't have a self-doubt.
07:09What?
07:09What is his self-worth?
07:12Which is constantly tested.
07:13Her husband is weighing himself in front of her.
07:16And he hasn't gained a kilo.
07:18And I want her to go on the scale when he's in the loo.
07:20When no one is watching.
07:22I said,
07:22I do that so much.
07:25And I said,
07:25and she puts the scale back and says,
07:27it doesn't work well.
07:29Because that's also very normal.
07:31And that scene,
07:32and people are like,
07:33you know,
07:34the normal thought process of a TV show is that,
07:36let's put high drama,
07:38or put kitchen scenes.
07:41Tulsi on a weighing scale is like,
07:43what?
07:45And then we had her daughter tell her that nothing's fitting you.
07:48So she called me up to the end.
07:49She said,
07:50you want me to try this blouse?
07:51And you want to say that it's not fitting me?
07:53I said,
07:54yeah.
07:55It's not fitting you.
07:56I said,
07:57let,
07:57there are going to be a lot of people saying,
07:59Mihir is looking younger than Smiti.
08:01Smiti's gained weight.
08:03I said,
08:04plate,
08:05front foot.
08:06Take it on your chin.
08:07Yeah,
08:08so?
08:10So?
08:11You know,
08:12that's quite cool,
08:13because you're leaving it at so.
08:15It's not that we're suddenly going to see Smiti Rani drop a few kilos.
08:18No,
08:18I have me telling her that,
08:20that,
08:21you know,
08:21no one sees you the way I do.
08:23I see you as my team player,
08:24as a partner,
08:26and when you are really in a relationship,
08:29outside people can judge.
08:30For me,
08:31you and I are beyond our bodies,
08:33and beyond our,
08:34we've shared a legacy of lifetimes together,
08:36a lifetime together.
08:37So,
08:39this one,
08:40the second,
08:41Kyonki Saaz Bi Ka Hip Kabhi Bahuti 2.0,
08:43is a limited series.
08:46Yes.
08:46So,
08:46have you finished shooting for it?
08:48Have you wrapped up on this?
08:48No,
08:48no,
08:48no,
08:48it's limited,
08:50keeping the TV,
08:51what do you call,
08:52numbers in mind,
08:53it's about a couple of months.
08:55A couple of months more,
08:56and then,
08:57that's it.
08:57And you're looking at,
08:58you know,
08:58actually touching lots of other issues,
09:01that are socially relevant today,
09:02in the society.
09:02Exactly.
09:03The moment we finish 2,000,
09:05we end the show.
09:06And there's a fair amount of social messaging,
09:08we can look forward to.
09:09Yes.
09:09So,
09:10we decided,
09:10like,
09:11this time,
09:11when we had her,
09:13first we picked up her weight issues,
09:14and we've seen some issues,
09:17wherein she's supporting,
09:18her daughter-in-law's in the house,
09:20and then there's an issue,
09:21which are very,
09:22like,
09:22for people,
09:23these are not big issues,
09:24but we've merged it.
09:25So,
09:26even like,
09:27we've made her affiliated to a charity,
09:30I've had a couple of episodes,
09:32where she says,
09:33I've made these things very natural in the show,
09:37so that it doesn't look like,
09:39it's preachy,
09:40at the same time,
09:41it subconsciously makes you realize,
09:44that there's no way,
09:45you can move ahead in life,
09:46without doing these things,
09:47you know.
09:48You know,
09:48I followed Smithi Rani,
09:50as a politician,
09:51you know,
09:51I've endlessly trailed her,
09:53in Amity,
09:54where she was an MP,
09:55and then she was,
09:56of course,
09:56campaigning.
09:57Is she quite the same?
09:58Because she has this fabulous people connect.
10:00You know,
10:00she'll give these speeches,
10:01there'll be some,
10:03you know,
10:03a woman who'll be crying,
10:04in the second row,
10:05first row.
10:06There is a pull that she has.
10:08And is it,
10:09who is Smithi Rani,
10:10the actor?
10:11I,
10:12I think she's an amazing actor,
10:14but before anything else,
10:16like,
10:16I feel,
10:17Smithi,
10:19can come across,
10:20very strong,
10:20and a bit hard,
10:21at times.
10:22You can meet her,
10:23and you can feel like,
10:24a bit overwhelmed,
10:25because,
10:26the first day,
10:27the actors were all crying,
10:28almost,
10:28because,
10:29they were like,
10:30you know,
10:30they couldn't act in front of her,
10:31they were scared,
10:33and I had to call her up,
10:34and say like,
10:35you know what,
10:35you know your acting chops,
10:37better than anyone else,
10:38but they don't,
10:39and you need to calm down.
10:41And she said,
10:41yeah,
10:41okay.
10:43And by now,
10:45every actor,
10:45on that set,
10:47thinks they have,
10:49a,
10:50what do you call,
10:51agony aunt in Smriti.
10:53So,
10:53and she's so helpful,
10:55I don't think anybody knows,
10:56that even the smallest actor,
10:58or people,
10:59you know,
10:59would call me up,
11:00and say,
11:00you know,
11:00we need this thing done,
11:02I'm so stuck,
11:03I don't know Smriti,
11:05can I call her?
11:05I said,
11:06just call her.
11:07And,
11:07that person would immediately,
11:09get a call back from Smriti,
11:10yes,
11:10yes,
11:11I remember you,
11:11you were in production,
11:13what is the problem?
11:14And she would be like,
11:15the,
11:15I need this done,
11:16and she would do it.
11:17And,
11:18no one knows this side.
11:20There are people,
11:21I know during COVID,
11:22she was,
11:2324-7,
11:25on the call.
11:2624-7.
11:28Tannu is alive today,
11:29my best friend,
11:30and because of Smriti.
11:3224-7 checking,
11:34how people are getting,
11:35oxygen mass,
11:36how people are getting this,
11:38it was unbelievable,
11:39unbelievable.
11:40So there,
11:40people don't see that side.
11:43So this harsh,
11:44aggressive exterior,
11:45does it find,
11:46like,
11:46any similarity,
11:47of,
11:48you know,
11:48I know,
11:49a headstrong,
11:50aggressive,
11:52go-getter,
11:53young producer,
11:53very successful,
11:55do you see any similarities?
11:56You know who I'm talking about,
11:57right?
11:58Yourself.
11:59What do I say?
12:01Sometimes I don't know,
12:03that being aggressive,
12:05is so acceptable for men,
12:08but such a,
12:09dogma for women,
12:11that I don't even know,
12:13how is it even different?
12:14You know,
12:14you'll have these guys,
12:15back slapping on a set,
12:17abusing,
12:18sitting on,
12:20inappropriately,
12:21on one stool,
12:23and commanding this,
12:25full set,
12:27and,
12:28you go there,
12:29and show even,
12:30shreds of upset,
12:32or anger,
12:33which is so normal,
12:34in a,
12:34very pressured profession,
12:36like ours,
12:36and people will be like,
12:37hey,
12:38how aggressive is it?
12:39I once asked someone,
12:40I said,
12:41should I just like,
12:41open my hair,
12:42blow dry it,
12:44and sit here like that,
12:45and ask for my episode,
12:46because what do they want?
12:48There is no level of expression,
12:52where acceptance comes,
12:53if you're even slightly upset,
12:56aggressive,
12:58and yet it is the most acceptable thing,
12:59of a man.
13:01Let me add another word to it,
13:02aggressive,
13:03and then ambitious,
13:04ambitious,
13:05if you use it for a woman.
13:06I had someone tell me once,
13:08that you know,
13:08now that you're a mother,
13:10your priority should be your child,
13:12and please give up on this career warrior.
13:14How's that going?
13:16It's going great,
13:17I do my thing,
13:19and I am,
13:20I think a committed mother.
13:21I don't fit in the conventional mother slot,
13:24that means I'm least active on the mother's group,
13:27wherein people are checking on,
13:29which color of kela should we give the child.
13:32So I'm not really a helicopter mom,
13:35but I found my space,
13:37because the guilt is real,
13:39you know,
13:39you,
13:40like I've come here,
13:40and my son is at home,
13:42so my mother is taking care of him,
13:44and I work with the guilt,
13:47guilt,
13:48but at the same time,
13:49I'm not running away from the fact anymore,
13:53that I love my company,
13:55I love my job,
13:57I'm not just working,
13:58to make ends meet,
14:00and that's why it's acceptable,
14:01I'm working because I love it,
14:03and it's still acceptable.
14:06You know,
14:07and it's quite amazing the way you've dealt with your career,
14:11the way you've dealt with your personal life,
14:13unapologetic,
14:14unabashed,
14:14you wear it on your sleeve,
14:16and it's fabulous.
14:17Because 30 years ago,
14:18it's,
14:18you know,
14:18no matter what anybody might say today,
14:21or even then,
14:22the sheer fact that you knew what content sells,
14:26you knew it then,
14:27you know it now,
14:28and that's why the rain has been such,
14:30and the rise,
14:31it's,
14:32you know,
14:32you're only going up.
14:34How would you define that?
14:34I don't think I'm always going up,
14:36there are always waves in my career,
14:38there are really huge setbacks,
14:40there's,
14:40we are now no longer playing a game of success,
14:43we're playing the game of relevance.
14:46How relevant are you in changing times?
14:48Is a question I ask myself all the time,
14:51so,
14:51I have to reinvent,
14:53make content that I can't probably make,
14:55I curate it,
14:56I work with makers who have a new mindset,
14:59it's sometimes extremely humbling,
15:02but you do that because,
15:04if I'm anything in the world,
15:05I am self-aware.
15:07So,
15:08okay,
15:09let me ask you,
15:10you know,
15:10a question this way then,
15:12would you need,
15:12or do you need a nagin,
15:14to produce an Urta Punjab,
15:16or a Kathal?
15:18Absolutely,
15:18without a nagin,
15:19no Urta Punjab,
15:20no Kathal would happen.
15:23When you do television,
15:25you have a certain amount of economic buoyance in your company,
15:29and then you can produce certain films you believe in,
15:32of course you have to make them risk-free,
15:33because you have investors in your company,
15:35and they have believed in you,
15:37and you need to live up to that belief too.
15:40Also that,
15:41even when TV is evolving,
15:43and it's no longer financially that what it was,
15:46there is YouTube,
15:48there is digital media,
15:50there is direct-to-digital now,
15:53there is movies,
15:54and you need to constantly move with the times,
15:57so,
15:58yes,
15:59when you make something clutter-breaking,
16:01you need to make something which you are sure would be appealing to the masses.
16:06So constant shuttle between independent and mainstream,
16:10television,
16:10cinema,
16:11OTT,
16:11whichever way you look at it,
16:12is that what the game is?
16:14I think so,
16:14and sometimes it's just the opposite,
16:16you know,
16:16you have more money made on a cutthal,
16:18and you lose money on a,
16:20really,
16:21completely,
16:22you think would work potboiler,
16:24so it sometimes just works opposite.
16:26You're talking about money,
16:27so Akshay Kumar had said very recently,
16:29that I think I'll be financially settled and stable,
16:32if I have a hundred crore FD.
16:33What's your take on it?
16:36How much of an FD are you aiming at?
16:40Not an FD?
16:41What's your benchmark to it?
16:43Okay,
16:43let me ask you this question then,
16:44Ekta.
16:45Is it true?
16:46I know three people have asked me this since the morning,
16:48you have to ask Ekta Kapoor,
16:49she has no reason,
16:50no concern,
16:51where money,
16:52and you and Tushar both,
16:54because your father,
16:55Jitendra,
16:55actually owns half of the real estate in Mumbai.
16:58True?
16:58Not half the real estate in Mumbai,
17:00but he's done well in his real estate business.
17:02So he has?
17:04Yeah,
17:04he has,
17:05and it's great,
17:06because he started off at 65,
17:08he's 83 now,
17:10he started off at 65,
17:12he started off like with a small piece of land,
17:15then went bigger,
17:16a little bigger,
17:16he's still very content,
17:18and he still doesn't take too many risks,
17:21but he's obsessed with his business,
17:23it is not large like the big builders of Mumbai,
17:27but whatever little bit of an outfit he has,
17:30it's given him so much rejuvenation as a person,
17:32so I think it's great,
17:35because that business I'm probably proudest of,
17:37more than even my own,
17:38because it actually has shown me how to reinvent,
17:42maybe not in the same profession,
17:45but in another one,
17:45and my dad has done that.
17:47You speak very fondly of your father,
17:49because we were backstage right now,
17:50and Ekta,
17:51you know,
17:52for three minutes,
17:53completely turned the conversation on how she is,
17:56A, so much in awe of your father,
17:57you've spoken a lot about your mother,
17:59recently I've heard you speak so much,
18:01and so warmly about your dad.
18:03Yeah,
18:04so my mum is my business partner,
18:08we have so many fights,
18:09we are like,
18:10my dad is actually,
18:12on the other hand,
18:13he's the calmer one in the house,
18:15both of us are very aggressive women,
18:20and he's the calmer one,
18:22he's the one who like,
18:23takes very like,
18:24he's the one bringing like,
18:25the home down,
18:26and he's like,
18:27has more of a,
18:28today it makes a lot of difference,
18:30because what he says,
18:31makes a lot more sense,
18:33that telling,
18:34this too shall pass,
18:35if it's good,
18:36it'll pass,
18:37if it's bad,
18:38it'll pass,
18:39don't get too attached,
18:40just be like,
18:40whatever papa,
18:42now I understand it's true,
18:44this too shall pass.
18:47With your brother,
18:48because I think,
18:49where parenting is concerned,
18:50both of you are,
18:51practically on the same journey,
18:52you guys exchange notes,
18:53he's a far better parent,
18:56than I am,
18:58actually in my house,
18:59keeping the conventional,
19:00TV show format,
19:02we live a very,
19:03unconventional life,
19:05both of us had children,
19:06through surrogacy,
19:08my father,
19:10my brother,
19:10is the one who sleeps,
19:11at 8.39,
19:13is a committed,
19:14and extremely,
19:15vigilant parent,
19:17roles you expect,
19:18women to do,
19:20my father,
19:21is the second,
19:22what should I say,
19:24nurturer in the house,
19:25me and my mom,
19:26are the hunters,
19:28who are the ones,
19:29who come last,
19:29to the house,
19:31so our roles,
19:32are so merged,
19:33and he's a father,
19:34so many times,
19:35I'm like asking him,
19:36what do I do,
19:37I'm like stuck here,
19:38he tell me,
19:39okay,
19:39now you get this done,
19:40then you get this done,
19:42I think you should know this,
19:43that he's also,
19:44a Buddhist teacher,
19:45a Buddhist teacher,
19:46yeah,
19:47he's a Shaka Pramuk,
19:49you know,
19:50there's a difference,
19:51between a Shaka Pramuk,
19:51we just had somebody,
19:52from the RSS,
19:53no,
19:53no,
19:54he's basically,
19:55the Shaka,
19:55they have this,
19:56these centers,
19:59he's the leader,
19:59of his,
20:00so every time,
20:01you're practically,
20:02losing it at home,
20:03and he's around,
20:04does he start chanting,
20:05he's like,
20:06you know,
20:07this is what I'm saying,
20:08so he and my dad,
20:09are the ones,
20:09with the vision,
20:10and the one step back,
20:12and the perspective,
20:14me and mom,
20:14are the focused ones,
20:16the focused ones,
20:16but you know,
20:17Ekta,
20:17if you'd allow me,
20:18I want to just pull out something,
20:19as well,
20:19you know,
20:19we've got seven and a half minutes,
20:21I'm going to try,
20:21and make the most of it,
20:22I'm going to pull out,
20:23one of Ekta Kapoor's,
20:25Instagram clips,
20:26that she'd put out,
20:27many thought she was trying,
20:28to hint at somebody,
20:29was it really that,
20:31also,
20:31you know,
20:31after we play out the clip,
20:32we'll have a better understanding,
20:34so,
20:34let's play that Instagram clip out,
20:36in Chennai,
20:39I have some time,
20:40so I'm going to make this post,
20:42what do I do,
20:43I've given you a lot of weight,
20:43should I do an anti-inflammatory diet,
20:47Monjaro,
20:49Ozempic,
20:51all of the above,
20:55zip my mouth,
21:00let me leave,
21:00we look good,
21:04I'm going to take this,
21:11moment to tell everyone,
21:13this was exactly,
21:15one week before,
21:16I launched the,
21:16Bade Ache Lakti promo,
21:19wherein the promo,
21:20itself had a line,
21:23that,
21:24the girl is trying on an outfit,
21:25and she's a,
21:26large size,
21:28and,
21:28she wants to,
21:29she tries to fit into a medium,
21:31again,
21:31dealing with body shaming,
21:33and self-doubt,
21:34and self-assurances,
21:36which was taken,
21:37completely,
21:39into another spectrum,
21:40this was not an,
21:41Ekta Kapoor dig at anyone,
21:43no,
21:43this actually,
21:44the very next video,
21:45I put up immediately,
21:46one minute after that,
21:48was guys,
21:49you know,
21:49we as women,
21:50should start accepting ourselves,
21:51and so what,
21:52if we have gained weight,
21:54and,
21:54you know,
21:54we should be okay with it,
21:56and you know what,
21:57I want to talk about,
21:58weight issues on television,
21:59and this and that,
22:00I have no idea,
22:02where Ram Kapoor is,
22:03he's neither a woman,
22:05noisy on television currently,
22:06and noisy battling weight issues,
22:08he's lost a lot of weight,
22:09how did this even go to him,
22:11I have no idea,
22:12I didn't say Ram Kapoor,
22:13you said Ram Kapoor,
22:13I said it,
22:14because why,
22:14why do we,
22:15I have to like hide from the fact,
22:16there were so many stories,
22:17and I was like,
22:18really,
22:19it's like me saying,
22:20I'm talking about my hair,
22:21and somebody somewhere else says,
22:22oh,
22:23you called me bald,
22:24why would I do that,
22:26so,
22:27but Ekta,
22:27tell us something,
22:28because you know,
22:29a lot of us outsiders,
22:30that are not part of the industry,
22:32when you're looking at the industry,
22:33and suddenly someone,
22:35who was fairly overweight,
22:36is suddenly stick thin,
22:38is it the anti-inflammatory diet,
22:39that you're talking about,
22:40for some people it is,
22:41like I know Vidya's on anti-inflammatory,
22:43she's lost a lot of weight,
22:44and I know,
22:45I did an anti-inflammatory,
22:4740 day diet,
22:48with Amura,
22:5060 day diet,
22:51just before my birthday,
22:52I lost 6,
22:537 kgs,
22:53but I got stuck there,
22:54clearly,
22:57either I've cheated too much,
22:58or something has gone wrong,
23:00but yeah,
23:00I think,
23:01a lot of our weight issues,
23:04come from inflammation,
23:05that's a fact,
23:06but there are some,
23:07who are not on anti-inflammatory diets,
23:08but possibly on a Zamtik,
23:10or Manjaro,
23:11and that's really fine,
23:11that's really fine,
23:13I'm quite okay,
23:13in fact,
23:14I'm thinking of trying one of them,
23:15in the next few months,
23:16because,
23:17I'm like,
23:17I'm getting stuck now,
23:18I'm on a plateau,
23:19so I need to lose some weight,
23:21and,
23:21I also,
23:23no,
23:23more my knees,
23:24I'm getting a lot of like,
23:26joint pains,
23:27and that's because of inflammation,
23:29and apparently,
23:30these drugs,
23:31attack inflammation,
23:33but I also have IBS,
23:34so I have to be like,
23:35weigh the pros and cons,
23:37and then see if I want to go for it.
23:39You know,
23:39right before you,
23:40Ikta,
23:41we had a full session,
23:42where we had doctors from LA,
23:43on GLP,
23:44so it's something that you're actually looking at,
23:46you know,
23:46I'm actually on natural GLPs,
23:48I've got this really nice tablet,
23:50which is berberine,
23:51and probiotics,
23:53but,
23:53the injectable GLPs,
23:56I'll have to find out about,
23:57but I'm,
23:57I'm going to do my full research,
23:59because,
23:59if I'm anything,
24:00if no one knows that,
24:01I'm into,
24:02I'm into health,
24:03in a big way,
24:05I read a lot about supplements,
24:07I read a lot about things.
24:09But that's,
24:09that's very honest of you,
24:11to say,
24:12because you're doing it for health reasons,
24:13you say you're,
24:14even if I'm doing it for my own body reasons,
24:16how does that make a difference to anybody?
24:18I agree.
24:19Like,
24:19what is anyone's problem?
24:21If someone lost weight,
24:22through Ozempic,
24:23and they're looking great,
24:24and they're happy about their life,
24:26how does it make a difference to anybody,
24:27and someone doesn't want to do Ozempic,
24:29has gained a lot of weight,
24:31and is still okay with their body,
24:33how is it,
24:33a problem,
24:34to anybody?
24:35100%,
24:36you go girl,
24:37or anyone,
24:37who wants to.
24:39You know,
24:39what I'm going to do is,
24:40three minutes,
24:41and I'm going to quickly do,
24:43five quick questions.
24:44Go for it.
24:45Go for it.
24:46If your life was a daily soap,
24:47what would be the title?
24:51Too much,
24:52too soon.
24:54Really?
24:55Yeah.
24:56You can't get,
24:57this kind of success,
24:59at 18,
25:00then at 25,
25:02reach your peak,
25:03and 30 be told,
25:04that you're now over,
25:05and you have to reinvent.
25:07Too much,
25:08too soon.
25:10That's also quite a prodigy then.
25:12Okay.
25:12If,
25:14which TV character,
25:16from your show,
25:16do you relate to the most?
25:19If you were to pick one.
25:21Sujal from Kahin To Hoga.
25:24Why?
25:25Because,
25:26he was so,
25:28his,
25:28people persona,
25:31was so problematic,
25:32and his way of dealing with situations,
25:35and his high level of defense mechanism,
25:38that people very rarely saw him,
25:40for who he really was.
25:41He was really okay with it,
25:43but maybe he was not,
25:44and that's,
25:45that,
25:46I feel,
25:47is a lot like me.
25:49If Ikta Kapoor,
25:50had to cast,
25:50Shah Rukh Khan,
25:51Salman Khan,
25:52in one of your serials,
25:53what would be the role,
25:55that you'd give them?
25:56And what would be the serial?
25:57Ah,
25:58television is about women,
26:01where will I cast these boys?
26:03You don't want them.
26:04Give me Vidya Balan,
26:07and Kareena Kapoor,
26:08I'll do a better job.
26:09Okay,
26:09I'll give you Vidya Balan,
26:10and Kareena Kapoor.
26:11Vidya Balan,
26:12I will make,
26:13Sakshi Tanwar's role,
26:14in,
26:14what do you call,
26:16Kahani Gargar Ki,
26:17and,
26:18Kareena Kapoor,
26:18I'll do,
26:19Kasorti Zindagi Kavit.
26:20I can imagine her,
26:22for 20 years yearning,
26:23and being passionately in love.
26:26If you had to remake,
26:28a classic Bollywood film,
26:29with a TV soap twist,
26:30which one would you pick?
26:31Kabhi khushi,
26:32kabhi gum,
26:33can we get any better than that?
26:35What would be the twist?
26:37The twist I would have,
26:39is I would definitely,
26:40for some time,
26:42see they've done a leap,
26:43in that also,
26:44interval point,
26:45they do a leap,
26:45and they come back 20 years later,
26:47and the kid grows up,
26:48you know,
26:49my twist would be,
26:51that there would be,
26:51an illegitimate son,
26:52somewhere of Amitabh Bachchan.
26:55That would have to happen.
26:57Because we would not,
26:58we would have finished,
26:58in three hours.
26:59If you could swap life,
27:00with any Bollywood producer,
27:02for one day,
27:03who would it be,
27:04and what would you,
27:05green light immediately?
27:07That this would have been made?
27:08Bollywood producer?
27:11I would switch places,
27:13with Rhea Kapoor,
27:14and I'd make,
27:15crew two,
27:16because she's sitting on it,
27:17for the last two years,
27:19and telling me,
27:21that I don't know,
27:21if I want to make it also,
27:22so,
27:23I'd do that first,
27:24I'll green light that.
27:26Basically,
27:26that's a subtle message,
27:27for Rhea Kapoor.
27:28Absolutely,
27:29not so subtle.
27:29Not so subtle,
27:30actually,
27:31not so subtle.
27:31Ika,
27:33what's that one regret,
27:35regret that you have?
27:37Do you have a regret?
27:38I do.
27:39Which is?
27:40So,
27:41the regret comes from my personality,
27:45more than a situation in life.
27:47I wish I had more,
27:49I was easy on myself.
27:56In a lot of parts in my life,
27:58I put myself through really large tests,
28:02battled with a lot of things mentally,
28:04I wasn't easy on myself.
28:07Those many years will never come back.
28:10Those things I thought were a big issue,
28:13now I'm okay with.
28:15I feel,
28:16that's my biggest regret,
28:17because those years I wasted in,
28:19creating self-doubt,
28:22and self-worth issues,
28:24and I just lost those years,
28:27in not being happy.
28:29You know,
28:29that's very good advice.
28:30Okay,
28:30on popular demand,
28:31I'm going to go back to that one question,
28:32that we spoke of,
28:33the anti-inflammatory pill,
28:35that you found.
28:36People who are watching this live,
28:38want to know,
28:39what is that pill?
28:40A,
28:40and is there something else,
28:41the best pill supplement,
28:42that you found for your health?
28:43I think that is the best.
28:44It's got some really good probiotics.
28:46It's got something called,
28:47starch.
28:49Now,
28:49starch is known to be bad,
28:50but it's that,
28:51elai-chi-wala-kela starch,
28:53which is the best,
28:55to create the best bacteria,
28:56in your stomach.
28:57And I'm going to put it up,
28:59it's got cinnamon,
29:00it's got berberine,
29:01it's got taurine,
29:02and it has got some great probiotics,
29:04one very big probiotic,
29:06you need in your gut,
29:07for long life,
29:08it's called acromensia.
29:09And it has acromensia,
29:11which is like,
29:12itself a GLP-1 activator.
29:15Where do you get this?
29:17Online,
29:18I'll just,
29:18I'll put up a picture,
29:19it's called GLP-1 1000 mg.
29:22Alright,
29:22so she's going to put up a picture,
29:23on Instagram.
29:24And it's all herbal.
29:25You're going to put this up,
29:26on Instagram.
29:27I'll put it up,
29:28I'll tag you.
29:29Oh great,
29:30you just tag me,
29:31you don't even need to put it up.
29:32I'll just tag you.
29:33Just tag me.
29:35I'm doing this for,
29:37I found it,
29:38I told all of my friends,
29:39I said,
29:39this is so good,
29:40and especially for people with IBS.
29:42No,
29:42but do put it down.
29:43So,
29:44all of you,
29:44who are watching it right now,
29:46you know,
29:46if you're watching it on television,
29:47or you're in the audience,
29:49what,
