00:00If you see a boy on a red tricycle, don't wave, don't smile, and never take the ice cream.
00:05It was August 2011, just outside Cleveland.
00:09Lena and I were walking home after visiting her cousin
00:12when we saw a small red ice cream cart near the old, closed-down playground.
00:17It was strange. No music, no lights.
00:20Just a boy, maybe 10 years old, standing behind it.
00:23He looked pale, with big, dark eyes and messy hair.
00:27He wore old clothes and didn't smile.
00:29The sign on the cart said, soul cones, one dollar.
00:33I told Lena it looked weird, but she thought it was funny.
00:36It's probably just some kid playing around, she said.
00:39She gave him a dollar.
00:40He handed her a cone without saying a word.
00:42The ice cream was white, with steam rising from it.
00:46Like it was frozen beyond normal, Lena took one bite and frowned.
00:50It tastes like flowers and metal, she said.
00:53That night, she texted me.
00:55I can hear a bell. He's outside.
00:57The boy is outside my window.
00:59I called her. No answer.
01:01The next morning, her window was open.
01:03Her bed was soaked.
01:04And on the floor was a red popsicle stick,
01:07standing upright in a puddle of ice.
01:09Lena was gone. No trace.
01:11A few days later, I passed the same playground.
01:14The cart was there again.
01:16The boy looked at me and scratched into the cart's side,
01:19with a knife, or nail, was her name.
01:22Lena.
01:23Type soul cone if you made it to the end.
