00:00Visit to meet their people, experience their lifestyles, and able to sign this International Treaty of Friendship
00:06in the U.S. Forever, creating the United States of Birmingham.
00:10Like us here, the Brummies of the U.S. are fiercely proud, feel that they are the underdogs, and don't really have a child.
00:21In this time of political division, what I found was wonderful, welcoming people
00:27who are excited to share their cities and towns with a man dressed like Mr. Cumberluck for a breakdown.
00:34Like Birmingham in the U.K., they felt welcoming to everyone.
00:38And King Charles himself recently said,
00:41From Birmingham, England, to Birmingham, Alabama, as I would pronounce it,
00:44we are united by a common language and shared heritage.
00:48But I believe we have more than just language and history to find us.
00:51We love our water, we're obsessed with our libraries, we have extraordinary food,
00:56many of us have a concrete car park.
01:00We are a little bit different, but we are all Birmingham.
01:03I'd like to thank the Lord Mayor and his team for helping facilitate today,
01:06Nicholas Silk for her organising,
01:09to all those who have helped bring this day together,
01:11and to the people of all Birminghams around the world.
01:15Huzzah!
01:18Thank you, Randall, wherever you are.
01:20Where are you, Randall? This is Randall from Birmingham, Pennsylvania.
01:23This is a city where multiple cultures thrive under one name, Brum.
01:37Now, Antonio R. Bugler will play as we raise the flag,
01:41the United States of Birmingham flag,
01:43a flag we can all be proud of,
01:45a flag that symbolises unity, kindness, being the underdog,
01:49not having our bins empty, and above all this, friendship.
01:52Happy International Day of Birthday!
