00:00Have you ever wondered what lies beneath the surface of drug use?
00:04What truths are hidden behind the allure of the high, the promise of escape, the thrill of the
00:08moment? My journey into the world of drugs was a twisted one filled with highs and lows, pleasure
00:14and pain, freedom and bondage. I've tasted the sweetness of beer, the allure of weed, the rush
00:20of cocaine, the haze of dust, the intensity of freebase, and the grip of crack. Oh crack,
00:26that was the one that ensnared me the deepest. Each of these substances offered me unforgettable
00:31experiences, unique in their own ways, yet each also led me on a downward spiral, to a point where
00:38a complete stranger on the street once looked at me and asked, have you ever tried to stop? I was
00:43once like many of you, entranced by the glitz and glamour portrayed on television, the drug dealers
00:48flaunting their wealth, living a life that seems straight out of a dream. But after over three
00:53decades of drug use, I can tell you this is nothing but a lie. The reality is far from this illusion.
00:59The people I know who deal drugs are struggling, just like everyone else. They survive only because
01:04someone else is buying their drugs. Drugs are like a worm on a hook. They lure you in with the promise
01:10of a good meal only to ensnare you, leaving you struggling for survival. The pleasure they offer
01:15comes at a price, a price that is simply not worth paying. If you've never done drugs, consider
01:21yourself special. You've made a choice I didn't. You've chosen a path I strayed from. As older
01:26members of society, we bear the responsibility of sharing the truth about drugs. The younger
01:31generation learns from us, from what we tell them. We have the power to shape their understanding,
01:36to guide their choices. We must strive to make the world a better place, not just hope for it.
01:42If we possess knowledge that can help someone, we must share it. Wouldn't we want someone to extend
01:47their hand when we're down? The message is clear. Don't do drugs. Don't normalize drug use for the
01:53generation, for in the end, drugs will enslave you. They will drive you to commit acts you never
01:58imagined, leaving you homeless, desperate, and forever chasing the next high. It's time to break
02:03free from the shackles of drug addiction. It's time to take action. It's time to help those who are
02:08struggling. Your voice, your action can make a difference. Stand against drug addiction.
02:12Stand for a healthier, brighter future. Stand for life.
