00:00In 2023, I would say we saw a giant surge in F-1 international students being interested in the EB-5 program, and I think there's two main reasons behind that.
00:12F-1 international students who are already in the U.S., they may have already graduated, they're on their optional practical training, which is OPT, or they're thinking of going to the U.S.
00:21Many of them have realized that A, it's hard for international people to get jobs post-graduation, and the H-1B lottery system has become all the more difficult, and it is a lottery system.
00:33So even if you do end up getting a job offer from a great company, you've graduated top of your class, you may not get selected in that draw.
00:42Then the only answer is to somehow get your hands on a green card, and the EB-5 program is the easiest and fastest way to go about that.
00:50The second thing is that the government introduced adjustment of status concurrent filing, which means that the students, they're already in the U.S. on an F-1 visa.
01:00They can apply for their adjustment of status and get a work authorization, which is called an employment authorization doc, as well as a travel document, and they can continue to live and work legally in the U.S.
01:12while they're actually waiting for their green card to process.
01:14So the benefits start right away for students, and that is why we're seeing so many students apply at the moment.
