03:51this week's big tech story is kind of a blend between tech and finance it's a bit serious so please stay
04:08with me I'll try to keep it light take a pause because what I am about to tell you might just blow you away
04:16India right now is one of the top five countries in the world that imposes heavy taxation on crypto that's about
04:2430% not only that for each transaction you do you have to pay 1% TDS now when you hear these numbers anyone would
04:33think that people in India would not be interested in crypto at all and that's kind of the confusion here
04:40get this a 2025 report by chain analysis says that India is number one in terms of crypto adoption
04:50unbelievable isn't it and chain analysis does a pretty comprehensive report
04:55and India is not the only surprise here global crypto has staged a stunning comeback in 2025
05:02Bitcoin smashed its old record to touch more than 1.8 crore per Bitcoin in July this year imagine
05:11that just two years ago it was around 16 lakh rupees around the world the number of crypto users has also
05:20crossed 861 million people that's over 11% of the world's population in developed markets like the US UK
05:30France and Singapore ownership jumped from around 20% in 2024 to nearly 24% in 2025 and the big money
05:40is flowing too in the Asia Pacific region on chain activity surged from 1.4 trillion dollars to 2.36
05:49trillion in just a year that's a 69% growth in total crypto transactions worldwide in 2024 touched
05:59around 10.6 trillion dollars up more than 50% from the year before and while recording this episode
06:07the entire market is worth more than four trillion dollars that's big so here's the big question how
06:15has this digital currency bounced back so strongly let's try to break it down but I'll try to make it as
06:22simple as possible first let's talk about the real tech behind it at the heart of it is blockchain think
06:31of it as a digital ledger that records every single transaction but instead of one central server it's
06:39copied across millions of computers worldwide that makes it transparent almost impossible to tamper with
06:46and free from control of a single government or bank back in 2021 crypto's market cap hit 3 trillion
06:55dollars even in India at one time every celebrity was endorsing crypto and it was booming but then came
07:03the infamous crash of 2022 coins lost over 70% of their value exchanges collapsed and scams like FTX shook
07:12investor confidence in India the government announced a flat 30% tax during the union budget which tanked the
07:20Indian crypto market as well for the taxation of virtual digital assets shall be taxed at the rate of 30%
07:2930% on payment made in relation to transfer of virtual digital asset at the rate of 1% of such consideration
07:39many said that the party was over and crypto was done but by 2025 crypto hasn't just bounced back
07:51it's bigger than ever but how exactly has this happened well there isn't a definite answer but we feel
08:00it could have something to do with the pro crypto president the US government adopting crypto as a strategic
08:09tool in their arsenal to propel the hegemony of US that's what changes completely everything right and Bitcoin
08:17solidifying its position as the digital gold which we from the industry have been saying for quite a long time
08:25now that is being cemented in the in the market and then US is US clearly sees this and they have adopted this
08:32this as their strategic tool and that's what is leading to this entire surge
08:38not only that somehow investors have found faith again in this tech and institutional money started pouring in when
08:45companies started building their Bitcoin reserves younger investors are leading the charge as even in India 71% of
08:54crypto investors are below 35 years but the big impact has been policy shifts in the US and Europe which are giving
09:03legitimacy with adoption hitting record highs
09:07millions of Indians continue to trade and invest and build in this current ecosystem for some it's about the opportunity that
09:16they have in front of them for others it's all about bypassing traditional systems that are maybe too
09:22slow or just too expensive right now now here's the thing there's a paradox here heavy restrictions on one
09:29side but record adoption on the other which just amazes people it's because of three major factors part one we are a
09:38country of billion plus population with high internet and mobile smartphone penetration the second thing
09:45Bitcoin as an asset has given more than hundred percentage year-on-year return much much better than most of the
09:52other assets that are available for a retail customer to invest in and the third thing from the regulatory
09:59point of view not just in India globally there has been a lot of positive things that have moved forward for crypto
10:06between 2021 and 2024 dozens of Indian crypto startups shifted base to Dubai and Singapore
10:17Polygon, Zeppay, CoinDCX, many of their top leaders moved operations overseas
10:23India produces the talent but the business and the tax revenue flows out
10:29if you are a crypto company like you are doing blockchain business and which interacts with
10:35crypto blockchain and crypto very different in those scenarios uh you know I think I don't think like
10:41we have a clear regulatory system inside and then the thing is that you know you can have any
10:47department which might have any kind of suspicion on you or they want to investigate they will come
10:52and then it creates such a large hassle for the startups that they decide that okay I don't want to deal
10:58with this right now at this phase of my startup journey I just simply move out
11:02so what's next central banks are already experimenting with digital currencies institutional investors are
11:10piling in and despite the growth the risk remains thefts in 2025 have already crossed 2.17 billion
11:19dollars higher than all of last year and even today there are several crypto scams running in India
11:25that people fall prey to I feel that's because of a lack of awareness and if we don't talk about
11:32it more people will suffer for India the choice is clear either embrace regulation that nurtures
11:39innovation or risk losing out on one of the biggest technological and financial revolutions of
11:45our time and for this to happen policymakers need to know the tech
11:50many times the people who are consulting uh government in these things when I meet them
11:59those people are like proper enterprise people right like consulting background and all that they have no
12:05clue what is going on on the real on the ground right like and they just like you know talk in terms of
12:10the presentations and boardrooms and all that whereas like you know if government is taking a direct
12:15advice from the people who are building in the in crypto I think they would realize that actually they
12:22have they would they would end up having much more control and much better uh you know compliances
12:28if these on-chain instruments are allowed and are onshore in India instead of them being offshore I'm a
12:35big proponent that India should not not be late to this party should allow some experimentation in
12:41sandboxes and see how it goes so crypto survived 2021 it even navigated that devastating crash of
12:492022 and now it's back with record-breaking numbers in 2025 by all of this you can see that crypto story
12:57has been anything but ordinary right now but what about its story in India surprisingly India is still
13:05at the top despite all of the odds and this is proof that despite the heavy taxes and the anti crypto
13:12narrative Indian investors still believe in this technology but what do you think is it just another
13:18bubble or the next big thing you should not miss out on you can let us know
13:24here on the take today show I live up to my promises because I promised you the new iphones and here they
13:37are but the studio right now isn't the right spot to unbox them right I want you to see them up close
13:44of what they offer especially this color which is just like creating a lot of buzz on social media so
13:49let's change the aesthetic a little bit and check out the new iphones
13:54so on the show today we have three very special guests the three amigos amigo pro max amigo air and amigo
14:17well let's just call this one 17 but the big news is indeed out the iphones are here in india and
14:25there is a lot of buzz around each and every apple store across the country so before you go and buy
14:31these devices we wanted to give you a quick look at what each of these devices offer starting with the
14:38iphone air apple has priced the iphone air in india starting at 1,19,900 for the 256 gb model you also
14:50get a 512 gb and a 1db model for this one pre-orders are open now via apple's online store and partner
14:58outlets now let's talk about the specs at just 5.6 millimeters thin and 165 grams the air packs a 6.5
15:07in super retina oled display with promotion up to 120 hertz all wrapped in a titanium frame with
15:15ceramic shield 2 and ip68 water resistance feels solid in the hand despite the lightweight design
15:25under the hood is the a19 pro chipset set to deliver console level graphics with hardware accelerated
15:31ray tracing on the rear is a 48 megapixel primary camera with 2x telephoto
15:38and the front gets an 18 megapixel shooter with center stage technology
15:43one of the best camera features on the iphone i feel battery life promised is up to 27 hours of video
15:50playback boosted to 40 hours with apple's new mac safe battery safe accessory many have questioned
15:56its battery capabilities so wait for the full review coming next week for the answer so who should buy
16:03it the iphone air is built for those who want flagship power and premium design in the thinnest lightest iphone
16:10ever it's for you if portability style statement and apple's ecosystem are your priority but if you're
16:19after pro level camera versatility bigger zoom or prefer a physical sim option you should lean more
16:26towards the pro models
16:32the next one in this segment is the pro max and this color is the one that is being sought after
16:37the most now talking about how it feels in the hand this is relatively lighter because it's using
16:43aluminum this time instead of titanium but the design this little plateau that iphone pro max has is
16:50very different from the 15 pro max and also the 16 so i think this is a design that might be a hit or
16:56miss with a lot of people and also in the hand it looks very different so a first look a quick one of the pro max
17:04the iphone 17 pro max starts at 1 lakh 49 900 for the 256 gb model with higher storage tiers up to 2 tb
17:17and what do you get for that price a massive 6.9 inch super oled display at 460 ppi with 3000 nits of peak
17:25brightness which is good even for outdoors feels light even at 213 grams and we just love this orange color
17:33under the hood it's powered by apple's most powerful a19 pro chip encased in a heat dissipating
17:39aluminium unibody with a new vapor chamber cooling system
17:45no mention of the ram on apple's website the rear camera array setup is massive 348 megapixel fusion
17:52cameras a main an ultra wide and a new telephoto with 8x optical zoom which is great for portraits
18:00plus an 18 megapixel center stage front camera for selfies which can click in landscape mode
18:08battery life is also bumped up apple claims up to 37 hours of video playback on the pro max model
18:15so if you want absolute top end apple experience the biggest display high-end zoom and also the best
18:23battery including pro grade photos and video tools this is the phone you should go for
18:29makes sense to upgrade only if you're on the 14 pro series or lower or even the 15 and if you want to
18:35keep things simple we also have the iphone 17.
18:38i'm really disappointed that apple has discontinued the plus variant of the 17 it's now been replaced
18:47by the air however the design here is almost like what the 16 offers and that is something that people
18:55might be a bit disappointed with however what's really changed is on the inside of this phone let's
19:00check that out the 17 is relatively more expensive this time at 82 900 rupees for the base model besides
19:12the upgrade in storage you also get a 120 hertz refresh rate screen 6.3 inch oled display and peak
19:18brightness up to 3000 nits under the hood is apple's new a19 chip with 6 core cpu 5 core gpu plus a neural
19:27accelerator camera setup has a dual lens 48 megapixel camera with telephoto sensors as well
19:35you can also click wide angle shots with this one the front camera is also upgraded to 18 megapixels
19:42it's also ip68 and durable while not a major upgrade in design if you want a flagship level
19:49display strong camera and snappy performance then the 17 hits that sweet spot
19:57all right so you need to tell me which of these three iphones are you going to buy because each of
20:03these has its own usb and each of it is special in its own way remember you can always write to us
20:10and tell us which of these do you think is better and if anything about these phones is confusing you
20:16we're always there to help and remember these phones are right now trending and speaking of
20:21trending there is a new ai tool that is just creating a buzz on the internet and you need to know
20:26what it is let's check that out nano banana now this isn't the name of a new mini banana split ice cream
20:39recipe rather it's the name of google's new ai image creator that indians by the way have just gone
20:45bonkers about why take a look at some of these images that they have created using this ai and you
20:52see it is completely changing the way that we imagined ourselves in the new worlds looking retro
20:59and it's even changing the way we have ad companies making these campaigns it's really something out
21:05of this world so on the ai guru segment today let's talk about this new ai tool what is it and how it's
21:12different from anything that you've seen till now and why by the way you should be careful when you're
21:17using tools like these nano banana an ai image creator part of the gemini ecosystem think of it as an artist
21:31inside your computer that can take your words or even an existing picture and instantly generate visuals
21:41you describe it and nano banana paints it
21:47whether that's a photo realistic landscape a new avatar for social media or even edits to an old family
21:54photo and how does this really work let's try to understand this with a very simple
22:00demo that you can also follow later first when you type in a prompt by the way you have to go to
22:05the interface you need to write maybe for example a puppy wearing uh sunglasses on a beach i know it's
22:13funny ai kind of breaks down all of the words that you have written into visual concepts and then
22:20generates pixels to match what you are writing by the way you can also by the way upload a picture if you
22:27want for example if i have a picture of a random person and i upload it then and ask it to change
22:35the background i can even do that and it's very simple the ai is efficient for example if he's wearing
22:41a shirt and i want him to wear maybe a black t-shirt because that's in trend right you can do that and the
22:49result is absolutely amazing the best part is look at the lightness and the clarity that this ai tool
22:57is offering is just out of this world and by the way you can combine different elements and you know
23:04take from different images and put it in the same one image and it will just give you exactly what you
23:10want like for example let me just add the image of a gadget and i would want this man to hold the gadget in
23:17his hand maybe you can advertise about it and let's see whether it does it see absolutely amazing isn't
23:24it just imagine how it will just completely change the way people advertise products although commercial
23:30uses are restricted but maybe for your own personal campaign this is just fantastic
23:37what makes nano stand out is its ability to preserve consistency so if you give it multiple prompts of
23:43the same person it keeps the face recognizable across all edits that's been a big challenge for
23:50other ai image generators and yes every image comes with a visible watermark and an invisible
23:57digital tag called synth id so you know what's ai made google also said that it is creating software
24:04that will be able to tell which image is ai made and which is real but like every other technology that
24:12comes up there are limitations and also dangers that you need to worry about because nano banana
24:19doesn't always nail all of these complex prompts it can hallucinate that what ai does so if you're
24:26asking for something vague you might just get odd or very unfinished results it may also distort some
24:33of the images if your prompts are not clear and you'll need to deal with it maybe prompt it again and yes
24:39even with google's guardrails all of the security protocols in place ai generated images can sometimes
24:45create very misleading or uh you know biased visuals you need to be careful about that which again brings
24:52us to an important point which is precautions when using nano banana treat it like a creative assistant
25:01and not the ultimate truth always check for watermarks before sharing images online be mindful of copyright
25:09you can't use it to replicate someone else's work or likeness commercially without permission like you
25:16can't take a celebrity's image and change it for commercial use you will be sued and perhaps most importantly
25:24remember that ai images can be very convincing they can look real but they are not so double check
25:31before believing or sharing anything that's it for this week's tech today also if you are one of
25:41those eager beavers who just cannot wait to get their hands on the new iphones because the sale is open
25:47by the way we strongly recommend that you hold on just for another week because we'll be getting
25:52a comprehensive review of the new iphones next week so that you can make a smarter buying decision also by the
25:58way all of the information about crypto that we just shared on the show it's only for educational
26:05purposes and not investment advice so please do your due diligence and research before you go diving
26:11into the crypto universe we'll be back next week with a brand new episode of the take today show till
26:15then the society is signing off
