Liverpool edge out Everton in tight Merseyside derby

00:00A close affair at Anfield between Liverpool and their Merseyside rivals Everton was won

00:07by the Reds by a score of two goals to one thanks to strikes from Ryan Gravenberg and

00:14Hugo Eckertike. Arnie Schlott reacted after full time.

00:19We needed mentality today in a different fashion maybe than the few times before but we always

00:27knew how difficult of a game this would be let alone if you have proper preparation time

00:33but if you played your third game in less than seven days against your rivals and then

00:41you know that the second half could be very tough and that's why I made my lineups throughout

00:47the week as I did for the players to be ready for this one because this was the most intense

00:53from the three we knew this before and you could see how well we can play if you if we

00:58are fresh first 45 minutes unbelievable the way we played but the second half was more

01:04difficult because of Everton of course but also because we ran a bit out of energy but

01:10we didn't run out of mentality.

01:13And in the Women's Rugby World Cup England reached the final defeating France in the semi-final

01:18I think you need to give France respect in the way that they are always going to respond

01:24after the adversity that they experienced. I thought they were fabulous, they were very

01:29emotional in their warm up. We always knew that they were going to come with that and

01:33you have to respect the World Cup semi-final. We had to work our way to be able to create

01:42pressure back on them. They were starting to create pressure on us probably more through

01:47our own doing through cumulative error. We weren't as quite as accurate as we needed

01:51to be at that point but it's a credit to the girls the way that they came out in the second

01:55half and broke them. I always said to the girls this game would take a lot longer.

02:02It was a lot about just sticking to our process. I think that was the main thing that we've

02:05kind of been speaking about all week and it was just staying calm and like we know how

02:10to beat France but we just had to stick to that process and put it into plan.
