00:00The Gilas Pilipinas U16 women's team is gearing up for a tough challenge as they open their campaign against defending champion Australia at the 2025 FIBA U16 Women's Asia Cup in Seremban Arena, Malaysia.
00:15The Philippines is drawn into a Group A alongside Australia, Chinese Taipei and South Korea.
00:21The squad is led by veteran coach Julie Amos and features Tiffany Andres, Ryan Victoria Roman, Ruiza Jane Olmos, Ziajan Ornate, Maria Zuzan Singson, Eliza Gosson, Makena Ramos, Zaira Ann Michelle Vinluan, Brian Faye Katigbak, Ella Adorada Smith, Olivia Addison Molina and Sofia Alessandra Martinez.
00:48Gilas will open its campaign today, September 22nd against Australia, followed by Chinese Taipei on September 23 and South Korea on September 24.
00:58The team needs at least one win in the group stage to remain in Division A.
01:03The tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2026 U17 Women's Cup in the Czech Republic.
