The moment a gang were arrested after targeting high-end homes across Surrey. This week, they were jailed for a combined total of 17 years. Between 3 November and 11 December 2024, the group carried out at least 11 burglaries, stealing more than £80,000 worth of property. The offenders, posing as tourists, targeted affluent homes, often climbing to first- or second-floor windows or doors to force entry using tools. They ransacked properties in search of watches, designer clothing and jewellery. At one burglary in December, Christmas presents were unwrapped and abandoned in the lounge. Over the summer, the gang were sentenced at Guildford Crown Court: Israel Contreras, 22, sentenced to five years and three months. Eduardo Marquez, 29, sentenced to six years and nine months. Yeico Guzman Fernandez, 25, sentenced to two years and nine months. Michael Carrasco, 28, sentenced to two years and nine months.
