00:48On Thursday evening, on his way back from a state visit to the United Kingdom,

00:52a helicopter carrying U.S. President Donald Trump had to make an emergency landing.

00:58The helicopter was landed at Luton Airport.

01:01White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said the helicopter had a minor hydraulic issue

01:06and was landed at a local airport as a precautionary measure.

01:10It later took off again and reached its scheduled destination, Stansted,

01:15although it was about 20 minutes behind schedule.

01:21She also said that the President and First Lady safely boarded a support helicopter.

01:27Emergency Services on the Runway

01:29Upon landing, an emergency services team was deployed on the runway at Luton Airport.

01:42Published photos show the U.S. President's two helicopters, Marine 1 and Marine 2,

01:48parked next to the runway.

01:49These helicopters, known as White Tops, have special defense systems,

01:55from missile countermeasures and radar jammers to electronics that prevent nuclear explosions.

02:01For security, Marine 1 always flies with several decoy helicopters of the same type

02:06and is usually accompanied by MV-22 Green Tops Ospreys,

02:11which carries Secret Service, support staff, and special forces.

02:14On his second state visit to the U.K.,

02:18Trump has been extensively using a helicopter fleet on this trip.

02:22On Tuesday, he arrived at Stansted and went to Winfield House,

02:27the residence of the U.S. Ambassador in London.

02:31On Wednesday, he and his wife met with the King and Queen at Windsor Castle.

02:36The next day, he went to Checkers to meet with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
