Há mais de 15 anos o governo de Minas iniciou e concluiu a Cidade Administrativa. As secretarias e várias autarquias públicas que ocupavam prédios isolados no centro de Belo Horizonte foram todas transferidas para lá. Atualmente mais de 15 mil pessoas circulam diariamente na Cidade Administrativa, que fica as margens da MG-010/424 a caminho de Confins - o bairro é Serra Verde e é divisa com Vespasiano/MG. Na história, o local era um hipódromo que entrou em declínio na década de 90.
