Surrey Heath MP Dr Al Pinkerton's first question at Prime Minister's Questions on Wednesday, September 10.
Dr Pinkerton said: "After 14 months as MP, I finally got to put my first question to the prime minister.
"And it wasn’t just any question. Days earlier I had introduced a bill in Parliament to crack down on the growing problem of number plate cloning, an issue first brought to me by Surrey Heath residents who had been caught up in it.
"My Vehicle Registration Marks (Misuse and Offences) Bill aims to toughen the law, support victims and give police the powers they need to deal with this increasingly common crime."

00:00Dr Al Pinkerton.
00:02Oh, thank you, Mr Speaker.
00:03Since May, my Surrey Heath constituent Sue has received thousands of pounds worth of fines
00:10after a criminal gang in London cloned her number plate and went on a rampage through the capital.
00:15In an age of increasingly sophisticated digital security,
00:19the number registration system seems like a remarkably analogue anachronism,
00:24is ripe for abuse and is failing drivers.
00:27Will the Prime Minister look at my presentation bill laid last week, pick it up and strengthen legislation,
00:34ensure police services have the tools they require to tackle this growing crime
00:38and to protect law-abiding motorists?
00:41Can I say I am sorry to hear about his constituent.
00:44That is an awful situation for anyone to find themselves in.
00:47I will, of course, look at his bill.
