00:00In today's story, we will try and understand that how could someone dare to insult a figure so
00:05respected, so loved, a man who stood beside the great Balasai Thakre. How could someone throw
00:11red paint on the statue of late Meenathai Thakre, right at the Chhattrapati Shivaji Park in Dadar,
00:18the very heart of Mumbai. And the bigger question here is, how did this even happen?
00:22Where was the security? Where were the cameras? Well, today, we bring you all the answers,
00:28because within just 24 hours, Mumbai police tracked down demand behind the shameful act.
00:34And the story that has come out is both shocking and disturbing. So, today morning,
00:39we visited the Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park, where yesterday, Shiv Seniks and locals near the
00:44park woke up to a heartbreaking sight. The statue of late Meenathai Thakre, wife of Shiv Sena founder
00:51Balasai Thakre, was splashed with red paint. The news spread like wildfire, and soon after,
00:57crowds started to gather, when emotions were running high. As after all, Meenathai was not
01:03just Balasai's wife, she was seen as a motherly figure by all the Shiv Seniks and other individuals.
01:09But here comes the twist. CCTV cameras placed nearby picked up movement, police team acted fast,
01:16and with the help of local intelligence, they tracked the culprit within hours. The man identified
01:21as Upendra Pavaskar, resident of Dadar itself. Now, you may ask, who is this man? Why did he do this?
01:29And was he even in his senses when he committed such an act? Well, sources reveal that Upendra Pavaskar
01:36is a mentally unstable man. His past has always been violent, as earlier, he was reported attacking his
01:43own sister with a dumbbell in his hand in the rage of anger. He has always been involved in repeated
01:49family disputes. And what's more shocking is, his anger also had political sheets. Reports suggest that
01:56years ago, there was a property issue in his family, where according to some reports, the Shiv Sena UBT leader,
02:02Aditya Thakri, had to intervene. And after the intervention, it is said that Upendra was full of anger.
02:08Moving on, reports also suggest that Pavaskar's own uncle, Mr. Sridhar Pavaskar, once served as the
02:15bodyguard of Balasayb Thakri. But after being removed from duty, bitterness grew inside the family.
02:21All of this combined, with his unstable mind, left Upendra to do the undiever. Within just 24 hours of
02:28the crime, Mumbai police cracked the case. They confronted Pavaskar, where he confessed his crime
02:34and he admitted to throwing the paint on the statue. The police have now sent him to the
02:38custody. A swift, sharp message that crime against such icons in Mumbai will not be tolerated.
02:46But the incidents have also raised bigger questions. How can such important monument,
02:51a statue of the Thakri family, stand without no proper security? How was it possible for someone
02:57to simply walk up, throw paint and escape? And most importantly, what steps will be taken
03:04to make sure that this never happens again? Today, member of the Maharashtra Assembly,
03:09Yogesh Kadam visited the statue and addressed these very concerns. He assured that not only the statue
03:17will be renovated, but also proper CCTV cameras and security will be installed around Shivaji Park to
03:23safeguard such important monuments. He reminded everyone that Meena Thakri was not just Balasayb's wife,
03:30but a motherly figure who showered love and guidance on countless families, including his poor.
03:36Sen. I really want to talk to you about the whole story.
03:42I don't know how much information is going to be given to you, but I don't think the investigation is going to be done and the investigation is going to be done and the investigation is going to be done.
03:59I think the background check is going to be a political connection or any other connection
04:06that information is being taken from the next 24 hours of the entire time.
04:11What intention is that information will be taken from the next 24 hours.
04:14What is the information that is being taken from the next 24 hours?
04:19What is the reason for this?
04:21This is not clear to anyone who has reached the point.
04:30But we should not have such a situation.
04:35We should have to take precautions here.
04:39We have to take a look at the local police station.
04:43I have given the DCP that the statue of the Maasahib,
04:50Kadam also shared that it was his father Ramdas Kadam who had built two statues of Meenathai,
05:09one in Kheed and the other one here at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park in Dadan.
05:14In a quick term of action, the statue has already been covered with a shed.
05:19To prevent any further disrespect.
05:21The incident may have shocked the city but the response from the police and from the leaders
05:26has sent a clear message.
05:28Mumbai may bend but it does not break.
05:31And when someone tries to defile its icons, the city rises as one to protect its pride.
05:37So today the big questions find their answers.
05:41Yes, someone dared to throw paint on Meenathai's statue.
05:44Yes, there was a lapse in security.
05:47But within 24 hours the culprit was caught.
05:50The statue will be restored, security will be strengthened and the legacy of Bala Sahib
05:55and Meenathai Thakri will remain untouchable.
05:58Because some figures are not just made up of stone and bronze, they are made up of history.
06:04They are made up of sacrifice and they live forever in the hearts of people.
06:09Now we have a look at my time for watch our stories.
