00:00The big question what brought you here? Brian himself and being Palestinian I
00:06believe and I hope being good old player what brought me here I wanted to be in
00:11this part of this the beginning just to help in organizing I didn't know that
00:17Brian was behind this but then a few months later Brian just called me and
00:21said Adnan I want to play this piece and I want to have the Aoud I'm looking for
00:25and I want to have you would you kindly be with me and he's like of course yes I
00:31cannot say no for Brian for anything and specifically for such massive event the
00:37biggest fundraiser in the history of England for Gaza. Well that's it I don't
00:42think there was a time when an event of this scale for this cause would have
00:46been unimaginable maybe what does it tell us this is happening now? It's not what
00:52it's happening now I hope it's gonna tell us what will happen in the future I
00:56hope it's gonna just tip the scale towards making the government do
01:02something we artists we have been always vocal many artists have starting to be
01:07more vocal and more and more and more we can see more international artists are
01:10being vocal and that is a great movement because art after all is is here when
01:16words fail art is very emotional art is very honest when it's a genuine when it's
01:22meaningful so we hope that this will help the governments listen to our hearts and
01:30to the right story and do something it's a big question but as a Palestinian what
01:34gets you up on that stage sorry it's a big question but as a Palestinian what gets
01:38you up on that stage as a Palestinian it's my responsibility to be there the
01:42heroes are those who are not in Palestinians but me I cannot not be on this
01:48stage if not this stage another stage it's my responsibility it feels like a
01:53job since I was a musician since I started being Palestinian is part of my
01:59job because I have to be more vocal because I cannot just make music for love
02:03for anything simple let's say I have to be very meaningful and very genuine whatever
02:08I say and it's tough it's tough you choose not to be viral and things you
02:14you choose not to be very popular whatever you do but at least for me and my
02:20brothers it's the line that we chose and some music fans at home who might be a
02:27bit tired like doom fatigue and constant doom scrolling and being attacked likes by
02:31like on the senses by everything that's happening and feeling a bit hopeless what
02:35would you say to them no I think I think seeing how things have started and how
02:42they are changing now I think the hope is building up the right momentum and I
02:48hope it's just not going to take too long because this genocide has to stop
02:52today at any moment we wanted to stop now the suffering of the Palestinian
02:58people has to stop today before tomorrow and to artists who aren't using their
03:03voice what would you say for the artists who are not using well if I think if
03:10they care about their career now these days they should be vocal for Palestine
03:14and I'm not saying that artists are surfing on a wave of pro Palestine caring for
03:22the for their career I think they're just caring for the humanity so there's two
03:27things if you care about your humanity you've got to stand for the right place in
03:31the right place and if you care about Palestine or your career you've got to
03:35stand as well in the right place these days amazing thank you so much thank you
