00:00I've made 10 very unfair footballs and I'm gonna test them all against a pro
00:04keeper to see which one will score me the most goals but first up we need to
00:07get a baseline with a normal football. Right first up we've got the normal ball

00:26what's the difficulty of this? If you hit it clean it's hard to stop but for a
00:31goalie I can predict it I know what's coming with a normal football so I think
00:34this is gonna go straight down the middle five out of ten I know you've got a few
00:37interesting ones lined up and we'll see how they compare. So this is my friend and
00:40pro goalkeeper Connor O'Keefe but the problem is he's too good in goal and I
00:44can never score past him. So I went on a mission to make an unsaveable football
00:49I've put Connor up against Jabulani's, Chaos Jabulani's and pretty much every
00:53other crazy football you can think of and every time he's managed to stop them
00:57so today I'm taking things into my own hands and I'll be modifying the
01:00footballs myself in ways that are 100% unfair and would definitely not be
01:04allowed in a real game but should make them a lot harder for Connor to save.
01:08From an illusion ball to an invisible and the final boss at the very end I've
01:12had 10 tries at making something that Connor can't save and after facing each
01:16one he'll rank the difficulty out of 10. This is absolutely horrible and I'm
01:20hoping by the end of the video I will have made a football that no
01:23goalkeeper can save. First up we have the helium ball. Now helium is lighter than
01:29air so filling the ball with this is supposed to make it knuckle more and
01:32move more unpredictably and when weighing the ball it was actually 10 grams lighter
01:35with the helium but is this enough to make a difference? Let's find out. So helium
01:39football no idea what to expect from this never faced a helium one before so
01:44absolutely no idea what carnage this is going to present.
01:50So the helium ball was actually pretty good but what did Connor think? To be fair that caused problems. It did cause problems. More than I thought. When you hit the ball it just
01:56stays on that line and just goes like an arrow. So just because it's unusual I'm gonna say it's a little bit more difficult.
02:01I'm gonna say 6 out of 10. So 6 out of 10 for the helium ball. Slightly more difficult than a regular football but next up we have an interesting one.

03:09So, Connor was dealing with the camo ball well,
03:11but some of the other footballs I made for this video
03:13should be causing a lot more problems.

03:20It was feeling easy,
03:21and then you just decide to pull out two screeners at the end.
03:23Purely on difficulty.

03:25Only a four out of ten difficulty for the camo ball.

03:29But next up, we have a very simple modification,
03:31but I think it could work well.
03:33Next up, we have one of the easiest ways to modify the football,
03:36and that is simply to deflate it.
03:41So, having less air in the ball is supposed to make it knuckle more
03:44and move more unpredictably.
03:45Let's test it out.
03:46You can see, there's quite a lot of give in that.
03:48There's nothing footballers hate more than an underinflated football.

03:53It's one of the worst things.
03:54Just because, like you said, you can't trust what it's going to do.

04:05One benefit, it doesn't quite hurt as much if it hits you in the stomach.
04:07I was actually really surprised how much difference this made.
04:10One goal out of four, and I'm feeling confident with this thing.
04:12It was causing a lot of problems for our goalie.

04:18That was unbelievable.
04:19I thought that was going well over.

04:21This could be one of the easiest ways.

04:25It definitely knuckles more, and it's definitely more unpredictable.

04:40Even with these footballs, it's still difficult.
04:42Even though it was only one goal, I actually think that was really difficult.

04:46Wherever you did hit it through, it was really difficult to get.
04:48I had to work hard to try and keep it out.
04:50So I'd say that was probably seven out of 10.

04:56and it actually surprised me how effective it was.
04:58But I've got even higher expectations for this next ball.
05:02Now, my next idea is to make a bit of an optical illusion with the football itself,
05:06hopefully throwing the goalie off, allowing me to score more goals.
05:09Here's how I'm going to do it.
05:10So I created a contrasting pattern on the ball.
05:13So when it's flying through the air, it should be really hard to track.
05:15Next up, illusion ball.
05:19It's obviously going to change and spin as it comes through the air,
05:21so it's going to mess with my eyes a lot trying to track it.
05:24I feel like this one might be pretty difficult.
05:25I'm sure that's going to be hard to track.
05:28I'm already not looking forward to this.
05:30Oh, that looks weird, man.

06:11So, five out of ten for the illusion ball.
06:13I think the idea was there, but it just didn't cause as many problems as I was expecting.
06:17But next up, we have one of the most complex modifications.
06:21So, this is the weighted football.
06:23For this, I cut a small hole in one side, and then put a few tiny plastic weights inside.
06:27They only weigh about 20 grams, but it should be just enough to make the center of gravity off balance.
06:31Meaning that every time I kick this thing, it should wobble and move like crazy.
06:35I have no idea what's going to happen with this.
06:37I guess we've just got to find out.
06:38And on the first shot, this happened.
06:40It got megged again from 30 yards.
06:47So, it was clear this ball did exactly as I'd hoped, and it went through Conor's legs from 30 yards out.

06:54This is 100% the craziest ball so far.
06:56I don't know why I expected it to happen, but it wasn't that.

07:14So, this ball did exactly what I hoped it would, and Conor was having a hard time stopping it.

07:51I'm very happy with how that turned out, but we've still got five footballs to test,

07:56But next up, we have another simple, yet very effective modification.
08:01So, for this next football, I over-inflated it, meaning it's a lot more solid,
08:05and should fly through the air a lot faster.
08:07It feels solid.
08:09Like all the footballs in this video, this wouldn't be allowed in a real game,
08:12but let's see how difficult this will be for Conor to stop.
08:15This thing is solid.
08:16Therefore, it should fizz a bit quicker, and also cause a few more problems for the goalie.

08:54So, 7 out of 10 for the high-pressure ball, and it even surprised me how crazy it was.
08:58But now we move on to the invisible, and this could either work very well or be absolutely terrible.
09:03Now, to make the invisible, I covered a football in AstroTurf, meaning it should blend in with the grass and be very hard to see.
09:09And as you can see, it did actually work pretty well.
09:11This is unbelievable.
09:13It'll definitely be difficult to pick up against the grass.
09:16You actually can't see that too well.
09:17That's pretty good.
09:18And as long as I hit it on the floor, I think this could cause problems.
09:21All right, shot number one.

09:34The thing is, I just can't get any power on it.

09:46I had high hopes for this ball.
09:48Very disappointed.
09:49I mean, I'm seriously impressed.
09:51That is very creative.
09:53But as a football, it's a zero, I'd said.
09:55It wasn't that difficult to stop.
09:56So unfortunately, the invisible was a massive fail and didn't really cause any problems for Conor.
10:01But next, we move on to a much more simple idea.
10:04So this next ball is one of the easiest to make, but also could be one of the most effective.
10:09And that is simply to use a slippy football.
10:11I've bought a football with not much grip on it, and I'm going to cover it in soap.
10:14So obviously, this should be a lot harder for Conor to catch and should fizz off the floor well.
10:18I feel like this is going to be ridiculous.
10:22Oh, save, mate.
10:23Oh, no.

10:26It is horrible.
10:27Yeah, it's definitely, definitely slippy.

10:35Wow, that is so skinny off the floor.

10:48So the slippy ball was causing problems.
10:52No catching.
10:52But somehow Conor was keeping it out.
10:56Okay, slippy ball, what do you think?
10:58I think when it hit the floor, it would really skid.
11:00And also, after your gloves have been on it a bit, you just got zero grip whatsoever.
11:04Seven out of ten.
11:05So a high difficulty rating for the slippy ball.
11:07And the next modification is a bit of an interesting one, but I think it could work.
11:11So next up, I'm going to create a mirror ball.
11:17Imagine a ball so reflective that the goalkeeper can't see it flying through the air.
11:20Surely that would make me score a lot more goals.
11:22So to do this, I've bought some speed tape.
11:25I'm going to cover this on the ball.
11:28So here we have a mirror football.
11:30Now, the way the light reflects off this ball should make it a lot harder for Conor to see
11:34and judge the spin and speed of the ball.
11:36I am very excited for this ball.
11:38I've got no idea what's going to happen.
11:43Wow.
11:44It's like from outer space.
11:47Oh, wow.
11:50Now, the mirror ball did look cool flying through the air,
11:52but the reflective foil also made it a lot heavier to kick.
11:55So my shots were a lot slower.
11:58It's actually quite grippy.
11:59It sticks, is it?
12:00Oh, wow.
12:05Dealing with it.
12:13Conor, what do you think?
12:14Very different.
12:15It actually stuck quite well in the gloves, I think because of the foil,
12:18you can grip it quite well, which actually helped me out.
12:20So a lower score, four out of ten.
12:22So yeah, slightly disappointing for the mirror ball.
12:24I expected big things, but now we have the final boss.
12:27This was my best attempt at making the worst football for a goalie.
12:30So now we've got the final boss of football.
12:33And for this, I asked AI to design a football
12:35that would be an absolute nightmare for a goalie
12:37and make me score more goals.
12:39And this is what they suggested.
12:40Having half the football super grippy
12:43and the other half super slippy.
12:44Now, I've bought this ball that is really grippy
12:47and I'm going to cover the other half in duct tape,
12:49which is super slippy.
12:50And then we'll have created something that I think
12:52could cause some serious problems for our goalie.
12:54So this has one side of super grippy material
12:57and one side of super slippy,
12:58meaning the goalie won't be able to get a clean catch,
13:00but also won't be able to know if the shot's going to spin or go straight
13:03and if it'll hold up when it bounces or skid off the floor.
13:06So I'm super excited to see how this ball does when put into action.
13:09So the ball was doing its job.
13:18Connor hated it, but he was doing well.
13:19I'm glad I got the grippy bit.

13:44Like if you caught it with your shot on the grippy side,
13:47it had whip on it.
13:48And if I caught it on the slippy side,
13:49it was really hard to hold.
13:50So yeah, difficult on that one.
13:52So with all the footballs tested,
13:53we had a lot of high scores,
13:54but the weighted ball was the most difficult.
13:56The uneven weight distribution caused absolute chaos
13:59and was the closest we got to an unsavable football.
