Armed robbery at SBI branch in Karnataka, crores worth of cash and gold looted

An armed gang staged a daring daylight heist at the State Bank of India branch in Chadachan, Vijayapura district, Karnataka, on Tuesday, escaping with cash and gold worth ₹21.04 crore. As per branch manager Tarakeshwara’s complaint, three men entered posing as account seekers, then brandished pistols and knives, tied up staff and customers with plastic tags, and forced open the bank’s cash and gold lockers.

00:12gang. In fact, five mass dacoits who struck this SPI branch of the bank. Cash, gold, all of that

00:22was looted in this bank heist to the tune of 21 crore rupees that was looted in all.

00:28These bank robbers who were dressed in military style clothes and that is what helped them

00:36get past. We are trying to get details from my colleague to understand how exactly was

00:41this heist carried out but those are the pictures from inside the bank of what had happened.

00:54savings of innocence that were invested in that bank. How was this dacoity carried out

01:00and what does the investigation say?

01:07For the pretext of opening a bank account, these looters had entered the bank and much

01:13before they could even execute their plan. They had visited the bank multiple times and

01:18they have done their survey in the bank and that's when they have realized that when they

01:24can loot it and they have planned late in the evening when the bank was supposed to shut

01:29down. That's when a person with the mask entered the bank stating that he want to open an account

01:34and thereafter, while talking on a pretext of opening an account, two people were waiting

01:38outside the bank and realized that there was nobody, that's when they had looted the money

01:44at gunpoint. Remember the bank manager and everybody who were present at that point of

01:49time were tied or they had used a rope to them and thereafter they have looted around 21.04 crore rupees

01:57money and jewellery. And this is not the first time this kind of incident has been reported. Even in the past in

02:03Vijayapura district itself, there was a bank robbery which was been reported even in Kalburi and Bidar and

02:09this is probably fourth or the fifth incident which has been reported from the state of Karnataka.
