00:00Welcome back. In a sign of sore and ties, US President dialed Prime Minister Modi to wish him on his 75th birthday, calling him a friend and wishing him on this occasion.
00:20A gesture that set the tone for renewed warmth in India-US ties. Prime Minister Modi thanks Trump for the wish for his affirming commitment to take the India-US comprehensive global partnership to new heights, backing Trump's efforts of peace in Ukraine.
00:34Trump has meanwhile praised Modi for doing a tremendous job and thanked him for India's support on ending the Ukraine war.
00:41Beyond the birthday diplomacy, the real breakthrough may be on trade. A seven-hour marathon round of talks in New Delhi has been described as positive, forward-looking by both sides.
00:51India's Commerce Ministry confirmed a discussion spanned tariffs, technology and market access.
00:57The US Embassy has echoed the optimism, calling the discussions constructive, hinting at next steps in the sixth round of formal negotiations.
01:11I'm going to go straight across to Pranayupad there for more details on that story.
01:39This, in fact, is an important conversation that the leaders essentially have had on the occasion of the Prime Minister's birthday, indicating in every which way that things are, you know, still on track as far as the talks around trade is also concerned here, isn't it?
01:55With President Donald Trump reiterating on the same today.
01:58This is a significant phone call.
02:02Not only that we used President Donald Trump, but dialed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wished him a happy birthday on his 75th birthday.
02:11And also, he affirmed his good work.
02:15And he said that he also acknowledged the kind of support being extended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India in his efforts, and especially to stop the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
02:26This is a change. This is a big change because from accusing India of supporting Putin's war and in Russia-Ukraine conflict, this is a significant change in Trump administration.
02:38And it is coming from US President Donald Trump himself.
02:41And if you see, you know, 6th of September onward, there is a change in Trump administration's attitude and approach towards India.
02:47This phone call happened yesterday on 16th of September, as well as, you know, on 16th of September, after the pause of, like, you know, almost one and a half month, India and United States trade representatives sat down.
03:03We had a discussion on bilateral trade agreement.
03:06This also came yesterday on both sides.
03:08India's Commerce Ministry, as well as the US Trade Representative Office, called it a positive development.
03:14So, definitely, this is not only a change and a different approach by the Trump administration, as far as India is concerned.
03:21And you would recall, Sneha, that, you know, on 6th of September and on 10th of September, in fact, significantly, Prime US President Donald Trump posted on his social media account and said that very soon, India and United States will be having a trade agreement.
03:36So, this is a change.
03:38How long and how sustainable this change would be, we do not know, because blow, hot, blow, cold has been a policy with Trump administration.
03:47But definitely, India welcomed this change.
03:52And we would want to conclude a bilateral trade agreement by the deadline set by both the leaders, Prime Minister Modi and President Donald Trump, in February 2025.
04:01And we will try and conclude a mutually beneficial trade agreement.
04:06Also, the Trump administration has, you know, said, both India and Trump administration set a very ambitious target of taking the bilateral trade to $500 billion.
04:17So, India remains committed to having a bilateral engagement with the United States.
04:21And if you have seen, Sneha, like, you know, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also reciprocated, not only to the phone call of President Donald Trump, he also thanked President Donald Trump for the phone call, but also, you know, reaffirmed India's commitment for the bilateral ties and taking the India-US strategy, global comprehensive strategic partnership to newer levels.
04:42So, this remains India's approach and India's commitment as far as the ties are concerned.
04:48When you're getting in those details at this point in time, I'm going to leave it at that, India Today Global Editor talking to us about the significance of this conversation.
04:58All right, at least for the time being, that's it from me for the moment.
05:00I'm now going to go straight across to my colleague, Abha Bakhaya of Business Today Television with all updates of the markets in this business show.
05:09Abha, over to you.
05:12Good morning and welcome to market opening on our brand new collab show between Business Today and India Today TV.
05:42Just after nine, we're here to get you ahead of the curve as markets kick off trading for the day.
05:47Let's take a look at what's hot in the corporate and financial space this morning.
05:52Big Tuesday twist to the seven-week-long tale of Trump tariff tantrums.
05:57Hours after India and U.S. trade negotiators hold talks to lay out a path for the future.
06:02U.S. President dials up friend Prime Minister Modi from onboard Air Force One.
06:08Fresh thaw between the two leaders as Trump wishes Modi a happy birthday and thanks him for support on Ukraine.
06:18All three U.S. stock indices end lower in choppy trade ahead of the Fed Reserve interest rate decision tonight.
06:24Investors largely pricing in a 25 basis point cut despite news from the central bank.
06:30Oracle is also up after Trump claims a deal with China to buy out TikTok's American operations.
06:43Investors in last week's main board IPO set for a windfall this morning.
06:47Urban Company expected to debut nearly an hour from now with more than 50% listing gains.
06:52Gray market premium and other issues.
06:54Sringar House and Dave Accelerator as high as 20%.
06:58Fresh twist to the Jane Street probe.
07:05Reports say the Central Board of Direct Taxes is looking into the alleged misuse of India's tax treaty with Singapore.
07:12Liabilities to be imposed once the case is established.
07:15News reports say CBDT has already collected data on this and will soon be submitted to the Finance Ministry.
07:22Jindal Steel International in talks with Germany's ThyssenKrupp to acquire its European steel business.
07:29The Naveen Jindal Company commits more than 2 billion euros to ThyssenKrupp's projects in Duisburg
07:35and also constructing an electric arc furnace.
07:38All right, lots of optimism in the markets ahead of that Fed meet pricing in a 25 basis point cut.
07:55Let's take a look at the overnight action on Wall Street.
07:58As I mentioned, markets right now just wait and watch mode to see really if the Fed meets their expectations.
08:05So that's really what's keeping the indices quiet for the moment.
08:08So S&P, NASDAQ and Dow all down just a touch in the red.
08:13Overnight action and then let's move across to Asia this morning as well and see how things are shaping up there.
08:18Good move on the Hang Seng.
08:20Shanghai and Nikkei just marginally in the green while Kospi lags behind.
08:24So that's the setup there in Asia.
08:26Now let's take a look at the Nifty for you as well.
08:28And of course, that's the Wall Street action for you again on your screen.
08:33But let's pull up the Nifty and let me also bring in Shailendra Bhatnagar, our chief analyst.
08:37Shail, good morning.
08:38Lots of optimism that you're seeing, especially, you know, the index still looking like just a slight upward bias and pre-open.
08:44But clearly it's in the broader markets or in the kind of sentiment that you're observing when it comes to the LAL Street
08:51that there is optimism both with regards to the Fed meet and otherwise.
08:55Good morning, Abha, and a very warm welcome to all our viewers.
09:03Of course, there is optimism.
09:05And you and I have also done what we can.
09:08You're wearing red to enthuse the bulls.
09:10I'm wearing green to put the Nifty higher.
09:13And we have a gap up today, Abha.
09:16And I'd like to advise all viewers and all investors to tighten their seatbelts.
09:21The final missing piece in the jigsaw, a call between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Trump is now in place.
09:32And this is the first and the last thing that was needed by the market for the bull run to continue.
09:38Yesterday, we added 169 points.
09:41Overall, in the last 10 sessions, 860 on the Nifty.
09:44We are now at a 4-5 week high.
09:49Last time you saw this number was on July 11th.
09:52Everything is in place.
09:53The dollar index is at a 5-6 month low.
09:57The U.S. 10-year yield is at its 5-month low.
10:01Crude oil is below 200-day DMA.
10:03And a good monsoon, a GST rate cut, an income tax cut and of course the GST region.
10:11Everything is in place, Abha.
10:12Abha, let's get ready for a very decent bull run from now on.
10:16A trending day will follow today, Abha.
10:19All right.
10:20So, very strong commentary coming in from our editor, Markets.
10:23Let's also go across to Sharad Avasti, who's joining us.
10:26He's head of Research PCG.
10:29Let's get your view in, Sharad.
10:31Good morning.
10:31Are you also seeing a lot of bullish momentum when it comes to the index and of course the broader markets,
10:36whether it be Trump calling Modi, whether it be countdown to the Fed meet,
10:41what do you think is driving action and are you as bullish?
10:46Yeah, well, I'm bullish about everything else other than Trump, I think.
10:50I would look at everything that he does, I would take it with a pinch of salt.
10:55And you can't be really sure how this topsy-turvy wave is going to respond.
11:00So, I don't know what it will do or what will end up because now we are talking that these are first-round rhetoric talks.
11:06What finally emanates as a deal or not, we do not know.
11:10And the narratives have been different, different from Trump, different from his people.
11:14So, I think I would not bet much.
11:16But, yeah, I think what Shell has very intelligently covered most of the points that, you know,
11:21there is a consumption boost we are looking at, there is a tax cut boost we are looking at,
11:25part of the rally is already playing out.
11:27So, I think, yeah, over the next six months, I think maybe at worst, you know,
11:32this quarter numbers do not look as rosy as we were expecting it earlier
11:35because of this DST cut announcement and a delay.
11:39But next quarter, I think the whole thing is going to bunch up.
11:43So, I am very positive that over the next, you know, three to six months,
11:47we should see a very good rally in the markets.
11:50All right.
11:50So, still looking at a three to six month scenario there very wisely in terms of, you know,
11:55the kind of sustained traction that Shah Radeh anticipates.
11:58Let's pull up some individual stocks as well.
12:00Shell Bajaj Finance, I mean, you know, somebody would say it's always been a top performer.
12:05Why now?
12:06What are you noticing on the stock?
12:09Well, Abha, if there is one stock in India that needs no, how should I say, help from anybody,
12:20there are four major tailwinds that have coming into Bajaj Finance.
12:23Remember, for the month of September, Bajaj Finance is already at a record high,
12:28up about 15-16%.
12:30It's the top performing stock on the Nifty for the last fortnight.
12:33And even on an year-to-date basis, 47% higher, again, Nifty's top performer.
12:40Now, Jefferies has put in a price target of 1100 rupees on Bajaj Finance for four tailwinds.
12:47The GST rate cut, the income tax cut, a good monsoon, and this consumer boom that we are seeing in front of us.
12:56So, Jefferies hopes that Bajaj Finance will have a 20% uptick in its earnings for the next couple of years,
13:04followed by a 20% return on equity.
13:09More importantly, Abha, this is the best NBFC franchise that we know.
13:14If you're looking to buy a car, if you're looking to buy a two-wheeler, if you're looking to buy a fridge,
13:19AC, Bajaj Finance is everywhere.
13:21You and I get five calls a day from Bajaj Finance, such is their reach.
13:26The AUM guidance for Bajaj Finance is 23% to 24% this year versus bank credit growth of 10%.
13:33So, if there's one stock that you want to buy in India, it should be Bajaj Finance, according to Jefferies.
13:40Of course, please consult an independent financial advisor as well.
13:44Abha.
13:45All right, Shail, thanks for taking us through that.
13:47Let's pull up some other stocks and news as well.
13:49We're just counting down to market opening right now.
13:52Axo Noble CCI has approved JSW Paints, buying up to 75% stake there in Axo Noble.
13:58In fact, talking about some of the Jindal counters, Jindal Steel is the other big newsmaker today,
14:03offering to buy Thysincrope Steel Europe.
14:06That's quite a large buy coming in for Jindal Steel.
14:12I want to get your view on this actually just quickly, Sharad, before we go to the opening bell,
14:17because it's through a private subsidiary.
14:20Regardless, do you see any kind of sentimental impact coming in on JSPL this morning?
14:26Yeah, there could be some impact.
14:27I think this is a big acquisition we are talking about.
14:30I think most of the steel companies do not have a gearing problem.
14:33As on date also, I think most of the debt is more or less negligible on most balance sheets,
14:38including companies like Sale.
14:40So I think, yeah, JSPL should benefit out of this.
14:43Forward, we are trading at 15 times.
14:45And most probably over the next two years, growth was anyways expected to be very strong.
14:49So I think it's a strong balance sheet.
14:50Even post acquisition, not much, you know, debt overhang should be there.
14:55So in case everything goes through and it's not very exorbitant in terms of prices,
14:59I think, yeah, JSPL could see some upside from countries.
15:03Okay.
15:04So let's keep an eye out on JSPL on opening.
15:06We're just counting now, just about a few seconds to go.
15:10Remember, we're expecting a gap up and continued traction through the day.
15:14And we're, of course, cheering Trump's call to Modi and seeing some amount of market optimism
15:20on the back of that as well.
15:22Let's take a look at opening trades.
15:23Then on the screen, up 0.3%, 25,305 on the Nifty.
15:28So really good start coming in.
15:30I know Cheryl's going to say, I told you so.
15:32Nifty Bank is looking good as well right now.
15:34This morning, we've got green on IT, up a nice strong, half a percent in morning trade.
15:39Let's pull up some of the other indices and top gainers as well
15:42and take a look where the action is coming in.
15:45Auto is continuously gaining this week and last week.
15:48So up 0.3% on some of those auto majors.
15:51Tata Consumers up over 3%.
15:53Coal India, Ultratech, some of the movers this morning seeing a good strong move.
15:571.5%.
15:58BEL is back in the green.
16:00Tata Motors up about 0.7%.
16:02We've got Grasim also on the move.
16:05Trent, Infosys, Senti PC.
16:07And remember, some of these names hadn't been participating earlier this week.
16:10So definitely adding their muscle now today.
16:13Meanwhile, on the downside, Adani Ports has been very much in the news.
16:16A slight breather there.
16:17So same with Aisha.
16:19Parthi is just about flat this morning right now.
16:22Let's take a look at what else is on the downside right now.
16:25And Titan and Wipro.
16:26Market breadth is strong.
16:28It's looking really good.
16:30Cheryl, it's like you indicated in the pre-open
16:33that clearly momentum seems to be at play today.
16:37Yes, Abha.
16:41The top 10 stocks in terms of index weight on the Nifty are doing pretty well.
16:47Nifty's Infosys is up 7 rupees at 15.18.
16:52A strong show that is coming into Bajaj, FinServ, Hindustan Unilever and Reliance.
16:59Apart from that, the advanced decline is very strong as you mentioned.
17:0315.36 shares in the green versus 3.40 in the red.
17:06So that's an easy 5 is to 1.
17:09We track 19 indices.
17:1018 of them are in the green.
17:12And the rally is led by the IT index, the Realty index, Energy and Auto.
17:17In terms of new highs in the market, you have again Maruti, Mannapuram Finance, Adhaar Housing Finance and JSW Street.
17:27So the mood is really good and we are also getting ready for the urban company listing at about 10 a.m.
17:33And that's going to be a blowout Abha today.
17:36It totally is.
17:37And in fact, we spoke to the management.
17:39We'll try and pull up a snippet of that.
17:41But clearly on the path to profitability and quite confident of managing to build on that.
17:48Let me pull up.
17:49Okay, you said JSW Steel is in action.
17:51So let's pull that one up as well.
17:53A whole bunch of the JSW stocks are of course in news today.
17:57But JSW Steel is for other reasons.
17:59Some of those housing finance companies, gold finance companies.
18:02Let me go across to Sharad on that.
18:03Sharad, so much to talk about in the market clearly.
18:06But from some of these broader market plays, as Shell said, new highs every day coming in.
18:11What would be your pick from the financials in the broader market?
18:15I think within the financials, PSU banks could be something that you could start looking at.
18:21SBI, the type of commentary that is coming from the management seems like good for around $1,000 to $1,050.
18:29Considering it trades at $1.752 price to book.
18:33Similarly, I think the other PSU lot also with a lot of talk about concentration and considering rebalancing it into much lesser number of banks.
18:42So I think stocks like PNB, Bank of World are all trading at $0.91 times, $0.8 times price to book.
18:49So I think these offer a very good opportunity.
18:52And on the private sector banks also, I think there are opportunities.
18:55HDFC is a decent bank.
18:56But if I have to choose between the two, I think the PSUs look much better.
19:00SBI, Bank of Baroda, Canada Bank, BNB.
19:03And we have been tracking some of that PSU Bank action as well.
19:08Now, a few more news makers.
19:09Let's see how they're reacting.
19:11We've got BEL, of course, in the green on the back of an order win as well as, you know, as well as continued traction on the counter.
19:18Apollo Tires, they're going to be sponsoring the India cricket team for three years.
19:22Apollo Tires, let's take a look if it's seeing any action this morning.
19:25And Amber Enterprises, a QIP issue coming in there for that one.
19:29Apollo is up about 1.5%.
19:31Kohl India, they declared a preferred bidder for a rare earth block in Ontilu, Chandragiri.
19:38So that's why that counter is in the news as well.
19:41Dr. Reddy is introducing a new molecule in India.
19:45And Gale is seeking October cargo for the Dubhole Terminal.
19:48So that's an LNG tender coming in for Gale.
19:51So some of these news makers this morning just running through some of those names as well.
19:54But, you know, we've been talking a lot about some of these defense names, energy names, and clearly some very key themes that are building in the market.
20:03A clear shift that seems to be emerging, Sharad.
20:06Would you be in consensus with that view?
20:09And if so, what would be some of your preferred picks in that space?
20:12Yes, I really think this is a very good space to be in over the longer term, you know, three to five years.
20:19But maybe the frontline names, you would find it difficult to make money in a, you know, 18-24 month kind of horizon.
20:26They might be priced perfectly.
20:28I was looking at BEL the other day, it's trading at what, 20, 30 times, say, 528 numbers.
20:33So I think they leave very little on the table, though you can consider the fact that there will be a lot of improvement in terms of order book, et cetera.
20:41What we are looking at right now, I think if you look at a mix of power, hydrogen, et cetera, I think MTAR space, I think MTAR could be a good name to look at.
20:50I think the order book acceleration should look much better in the second half.
20:54And purely on the defense side, I think idea forge is something though expensive, but I think the type of dominance they have in the drone technology.
21:02These could be two small cap, mid cap names that could do very well, according to me, in the next, you know, one, one and a half year.
21:08And the second half of the year should be much better for them.
21:11Okay, great.
21:12Some more of those news makers.
21:14We've got PNC Infratech with CCI approving an acquisition of JP Associates by PNC Infra.
21:19Let's pull that one up.
21:20And we've got HCL Tech with its first AI Martech platform in India as well.
21:26IT is looking good this morning.
21:27PNC is actually seeing a pretty good move coming in right now.
21:30And I think the other one I just want to go back to for a moment is Apollo Tires.
21:34And Shell, you're picking up something there.
21:35We just talked about how they're going to be looking to sponsor the Indian cricket team.
21:39So no business fundamental reasons, but that's definitely why that counters in the news this morning.
21:44Yes, and also the fact, Abha, that auto ancillaries have done immensely well in this market.
21:54Remember, Apollo Tires was somewhere like 350 rupees in the month of April, now somewhere like 492.
22:03So it's the auto ancillary team that is running full steam for Apollo Tires as well and this new contract with the BCCI for a two-year period.
22:14I'd also like to mark Larson and Tubro, a big order win.
22:18At least 2,500 crores worth of fresh orders that have come into L&T.
22:25That's what the board has just informed shareholders.
22:29And there is a runaway move that's happening on BEL, garden reach from the defense space.
22:37This is something that Sharad has also marked.
22:41You have Cochin shipyard 1% higher, BDL 1% higher, and a strong move coming into Idea Forge, something that he just recommended.
22:492.3% higher, Apollo micro 2.4% higher.
22:53Abha, all around, you see a lot of activity.
22:57The Nifty now adding further to its gains, 77 points higher, 25.315.
23:04We'll have a strong trending day today.
23:06The Nifty will end at its days high at 3.30 p.m.
23:09Abha.
23:11Okay, I'm going to hold you to that, Shail, when we come back at 3.30.
23:16But, you know, Sharad, I'm going to come to you on auto and autoank in just a moment.
23:19But I just want to run through a few more brokerage views as well.
23:23CLSA on cement, that's an upgrade on Ultratech.
23:26So we'll just pull that up and outperform an Ambuja.
23:29So let's pull up some of those cement majors.
23:31And we've got Novama on Eureka Forbes also initiating a buy, looking strong there.
23:37And Nomura on Prestige Estates as well.
23:39So there's a buy coming in there from Nomura on Prestige Estates.
23:42Just wanted to run through some of these other brokerage reports coming in as well.
23:47I'll pull them up for you on your screen.
23:48Ultratech looking good this morning.
23:50And we'll pull up some of those others as well.
23:52But auto and autoank, Sharad, let me come to you on that.
23:55Because, you know, it definitely has been an area that's been buzzing.
23:58Post the GST news ahead of festive season, we've seen auto make a big comeback, of course.
24:03But auto ancillary is also looking interesting.
24:05Any top picks there?
24:06Yeah, I think VAROT looks like a good idea that you could look at the fact that, you know, four wheelers, two wheelers should do very well.
24:15I think that could be one company that could benefit substantially out of this.
24:20Though post-issue, they haven't really improved much in terms of price performance.
24:24And the company has gone through some turbulence.
24:26But I'm very bullish on it.
24:28I think long term, that could be a very good idea to look at.
24:33Samard and Madharsson, after this recent announcement of the aggressive targets that they have put in over the next three, four years, I think that's a very aggressive target.
24:41Usually, they always put an aggressive target.
24:42So I think that could be a good idea to bet on.
24:45Madharsson wiring might have run up a bit.
24:47So much might not leave much on the table for one, one and a half years.
24:50So I think Samard and Madharsson and VAROT would be two ideas within the auto-ancelary space that you can look at.
24:56All right, let me focus on the big IPO listing this morning.
25:00Urban Company set to list in a few minutes at an issue price of 103 rupees per share.
25:05Following a blockbuster response, the IPO has subscribed 109 times.
25:09We did catch up with Abiraj Singh Behal, founder and CEO, who spoke about the company's journey from back-to-back losses to turning profitable in FY25.
25:16He explains what's driving this turnaround and how it can be sustained.
25:22Abiraj, FY25 saw a turnaround from heavy losses in FY23 and 24 to a profit of 239 crores.
25:30How sustainable is this profitability trend?
25:34Aba, so if I talk about the last three actual years,
25:39we have gone from about 437 and a half crores in revenue from operations in FY22 to about 1144 and a half in FY25.
25:50And of that 707 crores of incremental revenue that we have added to the top line,
25:55we've seen a translation of about 385 crores moving to the adjusted EBITDA,
26:01going from negative 373 to positive 12 and about 540-odd crores in the profit before tax,
26:09going from negative 514 to positive 28.
26:14Now, the profit after tax has a deferred tax asset of 211 crores.
26:18I would urge your listeners to ignore that accounting entry because that is taken in lieu of future profitability.
26:27The real profits that the company generated should be seen as a profit before tax level,
26:32which is about 28-odd crores, or the adjusted EBITDA, which is about 12.
26:36So you can say more or less the company today is at a break-even stage.
26:41You know, on the basis of about 1144 crores of revenue, we've generated small profits,
26:47but it's turned a corner in our kind of businesses.
26:50Investments happen up front in technology, training, brand building, and customer acquisition, etc.
26:56And once you hit a certain threshold scale, the fixed costs don't grow linearly with top line,
27:02and one can expect a meaningful percentage of the top line and contribution margin flowing into the adjusted EBITDA.
27:11All right, before we close the show, let's just quickly focus on some of the pockets buzzing on the back of easing Trump tensions.
27:18I think there's a massive rally happening in all leather exporters.
27:29Look at Mirza International and look at Khadim.
27:32Both of them make shoes which are exported to the U.S. and textile stocks.
27:37This phone call between President Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing wonders.
27:43Look at Gokuldas Exports, look at Skytex.
27:46Both of them up 5%.
27:47They export a lot of stuff to the U.S.
27:50Look at Himat Singha C-Day 1% higher.
27:54Look at AYM Syntex.
27:56I track about 22 textile stocks.
28:0021 of them are in the green.
28:02Gains ranging between 2% and 5%.
28:04Two of them are on circuit which is Skytex and Gokuldas Exports.
28:08And there's of course no stopping Mirza International and Khadim.
28:12Up 11 and 8% respectively.
28:15Abha.
28:16Great to see all these pockets of action and momentum clearly intact.
28:20Charad, we are completely out of time.
28:22Just a 10 second answer from you.
28:24Do you see a fresh closing high today?
28:27Yeah, very much possible.
28:28I think, yeah.
28:29Very much possible.
28:30Very much endorsing it then.
28:32Alright, stay tuned.
28:33We'll be back with market closing later.
28:35But that's all from us for now.
28:36Thanks so much for watching.
28:52And we have more news coming in this morning.
28:54BJP launching Modi Maa poster war amid Modi Maa abuse controversy
28:58on the occasion of the feminist's birthday.
29:01The party has launched a poster.
29:03Modi's mother shown as Goddess Durga.
29:05The poster says Durga sling India.
29:08Blocked demons.
29:08They're on your screens at this point in time.
29:11The poster war twist to the Bihar elections.
29:14Showdown Rahul Revan Tejas vehicle is shown as demons.
29:18And that poster we put out for our viewers at this point in time.
29:22This is a controversy that refuses to die down in Patna.
29:25That's a poster that has been put out by the Bharatiya Janata party
29:29sending out a message that members of the India bloc are in fact against the country.
29:35In fact, Maa Durga is being portrayed here with showing slaying India bloc demons.
29:44Rohit has got more details on that story.
29:46Rohit, the BJP taking this controversy to just another level once again, isn't it?
29:51after comments are made against the Prime Minister's mother.
29:55Breaking this up in poll-bound state of Bihar here.
30:01Well, yes, a poster has been put up today in Patna by a person who claims to be a BJP leader.
30:08and this is happening on the occasion of Prime Minister Modi's birthday
30:13and just because Durga Puja is also going to come.
30:17So in this poster that has been put up, all the opposition leaders,
30:22Rahul Gandhi, Tejasvi, Yadav, or Akhilesh, Yadav Himanswarin,
30:26everyone here has been shown as a demon
30:29and they are being shown that they are being slain by Maa Durga.
30:34So this is, obviously, BJP is taking it to another level
30:39where on the occasion of Prime Minister's birthday,
30:42it is being shown through this poster
30:45that all these opposition leaders will be eliminated,
30:49they will be finished by Maa Durga.
30:51So this is what has been manifested in this poster.
30:56Getting in those details,
30:58Rahul Gandhi, Revan Thready, etc.,
31:00and the other opposition leaders
31:01portrayed as demons in that poster
31:03that has been put out by the Bharatiya Janata Party
31:06on the occasion of the Prime Minister's birthday today.
31:10And also, Durga Puja, remember, just around the corner.
31:16From Buffalo memes to podcaster clones,
31:19Bihar's election is no longer just about the booth,
31:22but the real battles.
31:23Artificial intelligence has turned politics into a playground
31:26where one can prompt,
31:28one prompt rather, can spark a storm.
31:31India Today tracks that political trend.
31:38This AI-generated video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother
31:43triggered a massive political storm in pole-bound Bihar.
31:47But it might just be the trailer.
31:50With still months to go,
31:52Bihar 2025 could be India's first true AI election,
31:57where reels, not rallies, drive narratives.
32:01India Today's OSEAN team reviewed over 2,000 Instagram posts.
32:06The BJP led with 61 AI reels.
32:10J.D.U. closed behind with 58.
32:12The Congress put out 34,
32:14while the RJD trailed with just six.
32:17From Buffalo-faced anchors mocking Jungle Raj
32:20and vlogger-style avatars of Teja Swiyadav
32:23phrasing Nitish Kumar.
32:25To Congress's swaggering podcaster,
32:27Bawal Bihar,
32:29taking pot shots at unemployment and vote theft.
32:32Political parties are using AI to woo voters.
32:37From cartoon campaigners to recreating old controversies,
32:41AI is reshaping Bihar's election reels.
32:44Parties are rolling out AI-generated vox pops
32:48to sound like the people
32:49and glossy reels to project progress.
32:52But there are pitfalls.
32:54AI reels can turn fiction into fact,
32:57making leaders say things they never did
32:59or showing events that never happened.
33:02With just a prompt,
33:03fake clips now look real and convincing.
33:06And that is the danger.
33:08Many voters may believe the synthetic as truth.
33:11AI in polls entertaining.
33:13Yes.
33:14Persuasive.
33:15Even more.
33:16Dangerous.
33:17Possibly.
33:18And in Bihar 2025,
33:20the AI experiment is just getting started.
33:23Bureau Report, India Today.
33:29More news coming in this morning.
33:34Stalin Vijay AI video war continues.
33:37Day after Vijay's
33:38Anna Durai Artificial Intelligence video
33:41that he put out,
33:42Stalin releases Periyar AI video.
33:44Stalin's tribute to the Dravidian icon.
33:47TVK AI video had shown DMK founder
33:49endorsing Vijay.
33:51AI war of icons in pole bound.
33:54Tamil Nadu at this point in time.
33:56Let's take a look at this video first.
33:58I reach out.
34:28This is the end of the day.
38:12Tamilnadu gears up for assembly elections next year.
38:19Alliances are taking shape.
38:21Equations shifting.
38:24The AIA-DMK, the principal challenger to the DMK, has hit turbulence.
38:33Party General Secretary Edapadi Palani Swami met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi
38:38amid infighting reports.
38:40Party Chief EPS shut doors on expelled leaders, spurning any bid for unification.
38:45The idea is that if you go to the stage, they will come to the stage.
38:57It will later be in the stage, then, a chase.
39:02This is going to be the last fight.
39:05This is going to be a chase!
39:10But the rebels are not ready to relent.
39:24Former AIA DMK leader TTV Dhinakaran, in a moment of anguish, called EPS a liar.
39:40The chorus for unity is growing louder among the AIA DMK outcasts.
39:47VK Sassikala broke her silence on India today.
39:50The former aide of Jail Alita says she's on the right path, hinting at a possible comeback.
40:10Another expelled leader, former Chief Minister Paneer Selvam, appears to be seeking a way back.
40:16Senior party leader Sengothian, who was sacked from party posts, has defended his call for unity.
40:46The leaders, hoping for a comeback, are up against E. Paliniswami, the former Chief Minister,
41:14who now calls the shorts in AIA DMK.
41:21So, with the countdown to 2026 having begun, what's next?
41:28Can AIA DMK rise above ego and history?
41:35Can it march as one or fall divided?
41:38Your report, India Today.
41:43All right, that brings us to the end of this edition, but we're leaving you with this report.
41:52Takeaways from FBI Director Kash Patel, Senate hearing, where Democratic senators pressed him
41:58over the bungling of the Epstein files.
42:01Cory Booker, a Democratic U.S. senator, launched into FBI Director Kash Patel
42:06during a Senate Judiciary hearing in U.S. overworked the New Jersey Senator called
42:10Generational Destruction of the Nation's Premier Law Enforcement Agency,
42:15suggesting that Patel did not have long left in his role.
42:20Patel and Booker then descended into a shouting match.
42:23The clash follows criticism of Kash Patel's alleged missteps as FBI Director,
42:28following backlash over Patel's retracted statements about the Charlie Kirk shooter's identity
42:32and his firing of officials involved in investigations of Donald Trump.
42:38Mr. Patel, I think you're not going to be around long.
42:42I think this might be your last oversight hearing.
42:45Because as much as you supplicate yourself to the will of Donald Trump
42:48and not the Constitution of the United States of America,
42:51Donald Trump has shown us in his first term and in this term,
42:54he is not loyal to people like you.
42:57He will cut you loose.
42:59This may be the last time I have a hearing with you
43:02because I don't think you're long for your job.
43:05But I'm going to tell you this.
43:06I pray for you.
43:08I pray for you that you can step up and defend your oath,
43:13defend the Constitution, and do a much better job of defending this country.
43:18That rant of false information does not bring this country together.
43:24If you want to work on bringing this country, it's my time, not yours.
43:27My God, my God.
43:29If you want to talk about...
43:30If you want to talk about...
43:31If you want to talk about...
43:32If you want to talk about...
43:33If you want to talk about...
43:34It is my time...
43:35I follow you on your social media posts that tear this country apart.
43:36It is my time to address your falsehoods.
43:38Oh, you can try all you want...
43:40To the division in this country...
43:41You can try all you want...
43:42To the division in this country...
43:43To not take responsibility for what you have said.
43:44Senator, you had your time.
43:45Your time is over.
43:45Sir, you're making a mockery of this committee.
43:47Sir, you don't tell me my time is over.
43:49The people of New Jersey tell me what my time is.
43:51You know how far we've come since...
43:52You can't lecture me.
43:53You can tell me my time is over.
43:54You have...
43:55You may be the charge...
43:56I'm not going anywhere.
43:57I am not afraid of you, sir.
43:58Mr. Chairman...
43:59I'm not afraid of you.
44:00Mr. Chairman, point of order.
44:02Senator Booker, I announced at the beginning of this meeting that this back-and-forth talking
44:07over each other doesn't work.
44:09Mr. Chairman, one point of order.
44:10Go ahead, Mr. Patel.
44:11I've watched him talk over us, and you've never once criticized him for us not even
44:16being able to get our questions out.
44:17Well...
44:18He has been rude and disrespectful to senator after senator.
44:21Thank you, Senator.
44:22Thank you, Senator.
