Manchester United are in crisis just weeks into the Premier League season. Opta’s supercomputer has revealed shocking stats: United now have a 10.95% chance of relegation compared to just 4.18% chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

After a humiliating 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City, an early Carabao Cup exit to Grimsby Town, and only one win in their opening league games, Ruben Amorim’s men are under intense pressure. With a win rate of just 26%, the United boss is struggling to find answers while insisting he won’t change his philosophy.

Meanwhile, Liverpool and Arsenal lead the title race, Crystal Palace are shock contenders for Champions League football, and Burnley, Wolves, and Sunderland face the heaviest relegation risks.

00:00Manchester United, a club that once ruled English football. The theatre of dreams, home to legends,
00:21trophies and unforgettable nights in Europe. But today the numbers paint a very different picture.
00:27According to Opta's supercomputer, Manchester United are now more likely to be relegated than to
00:35qualify for the Champions League. The Red Devils' start to the 2025-2026 season has
00:42been nothing short of disastrous. Four Premier League games in, just one win, an embarrassing
00:49early exit from the Carabao Cup at the hands of League Two side Grimsby Town and now a humiliating
00:563-0 thrashing in the Manchester derby against City.
01:02And the numbers are damning. Opta's supercomputer has crunched the data, calculating where United
01:09are most likely to finish this season. The results? A chilling reality check. Just a 4.18% chance
01:20of Champions League qualification. But a 10.95% chance of relegation. That's more than double.
01:32If these probabilities hold true, United are expected to finish around 13th place in the
01:38Premier League table this season, which would only be a minor improvement on last season's
01:4415th place finish. For a club of Manchester United's history, that's nothing short of a nightmare.
01:54At the centre of the storm is manager Ruben Amorim. His reign has been rocky and the numbers don't lie.
02:01With a win rate of just 26%, Amorim now has the third lowest record of any Manchester United manager
02:11to take charge of more than 20 games. The fans want answers. The critics want change.
02:18But Amorim? He refuses to abandon his philosophy. After the Manchester derby defeat, Amorim said,
02:26I accept it's not a record you should have at Manchester United. But I am not going to change my philosophy.
02:33I play my way. And I am going to play my way.
02:37While United stumble, their rivals surge. Liverpool are favourites to defend their Premier League title
02:44with a 51.12% chance of being crowned champions again. Arsenal aren't far behind at 26.74%.
02:53Outside the top four, it's Crystal Palace. Yes, Palace, who are now more likely than ever to qualify for the
03:03Champions League with 23.66% chance, ahead of Newcastle at 23.16%.
03:13And at the bottom, the supercomputer has bad news for three clubs. Burnley with 52.23% chance of
03:20relegation. Wolves with 50.76% and Sunderland at 46.02%.
03:28Manchester United's 10.95% may not be as high. But for a club of this stature,
03:35even being in the same conversation is alarming. So what happens next? For now, all eyes remain on Amorim.
03:43Will his philosophy finally deliver results? Or will Manchester United's nightmare continue?
03:52The theatre of dreams has become a stage of anxiety, from European glory nights to the looming shadow of
03:58relegation. This is not the Manchester United of old. And unless something changes soon,
04:04the club's proud history may find itself buried under the weight of its own present struggles.
