La Selección Argentina le ganó a Corea del Sur en el Mundial de vóley de Filipinas 2025 y aunque sumó su segundo triunfo en dos presentaciones, todavía no se aseguró la clasificación a octavos ya que hubo un batacazo en el otro partido del grupo.  Los dirigidos por Marcelo Méndez, que en la primera fecha derrotaron a Finlandia en cinco sets con una gran remontada, se impusieron esta vez por 25-22, 23-25, 25-21 y 25-18 ante el rival más débil, en los papeles, de la zona.
