00:00And of course, let's start with the first question, where is the microphone?
00:04Vincent Schirpke, very outside, a short way for Marco and TZ.
00:08Hello Harry, who do you think is the favourite for the game tomorrow and on what depends to be successful against Chelsea?
00:16I feel like whenever we play against any team at the Allianz Arena, we back ourselves to be anyone if we play to our ability.
00:26Depending on who's favourites, that's down to you guys to decide and the fans to decide.
00:30But of course, we feel confident in the way we're playing right now.
00:34But also we know to beat Chelsea, we have to be at the highest, highest level.
00:39They won the Club World Cup, they showed some great performances in that competition and also in the Premier League.
00:45So we expect a tough game, there's some really good individual players.
00:49And yeah, this is the start of the Champions League.
00:52So it's going to be a great game under the lights in the Allianz Arena.
00:57Dankeschön.
00:58Zweite Reihe, Heiko Niederer for the Bild-Zeitung.
01:01Hello Harry, how are you?
01:05I'm good.
01:06Uli Hoeneß just said a quite surprising quote saying this year Bayern in the Champions League is a little bit like Hoffenheim.
01:13Nobody expects too much from them.
01:16What do you think of that?
01:18Do you like this underdog mentality or is it correct?
01:22I'm not too sure.
01:23I think whenever you're at a club like Bayern Munich, there's an expectation to win the best competitions and the Champions League especially.
01:32You know, we've done okay in the competition over the last couple of years.
01:37But ultimately, you know, if we don't win it, there's always going to be a bit of disappointment.
01:42So I wouldn't say that we're underdogs, but you know, you're playing against the best teams in Europe.
01:49So there's a lot of hard work from now until hopefully that moment in May or the start of June.
01:56So, yeah, look, we're right at the start of the competition.
02:00So I don't want to think too far ahead about winning or not.
02:03It's about progressing first and foremost, trying to get as high up in the league as we can.
02:10And that starts with hopefully a victory tomorrow night.
02:14Next one first row, Stefan Gumburger for Sport1.
02:19Hi, Harry. After the game against Hamburg, you said the two extra games, the playoff games against Celtic,
02:26had an impact on your season, on the season of the team.
02:29Could you describe how did you feel at this time with the tough games against Celtic, Frankfurt and Leverkusen, mentally and physically?
02:39Yeah, I just think it made the February month very difficult just from both a physical and a mental point of view.
02:48Of course, after the game, the aim is to get to the top eight.
02:52It doesn't make or break the Champions League.
02:54PSG proved that last year that, you know, you don't have to get to the top eight to end up going on to win.
02:58But yeah, it was just a difficult spell. So when you're playing high level games, when you're traveling away.
03:05And I think we played Celtic and Leverkusen within three days of each other, both away.
03:11So a lot of travel, a lot of physical demand in tough matches.
03:15So, of course, ideally, we've reached the top eight and we don't have to play the extra games.
03:20But ultimately, you know, we did deal with it well last year.
03:25And like I said, you know, the eventual winners went through the same path as what we did.
03:30So it is a make or break.
03:32Next one, gentleman from the BBC, right?
03:35Harry, hi. How are you?
03:36I'm good, you?
03:37I just wanted to talk a little bit about you personally in your form this season and overall at Bayern Munich.
03:42Eight goals already in club football in five games.
03:45At this rate, you'll be reaching 100 goals in a few weeks' time since you've been here at Bayern Munich, was it?
03:52I think it's 93 in 101 games so far. That's extraordinary.
03:56Did you expect it to go that well?
04:00Yeah, I'm not really sure what I expected, to be honest.
04:03I think I always backed myself, obviously, to score goals.
04:07I've been doing it my whole career.
04:08I think moving to a different country, a different league, a different team,
04:12there was always an expectation that I put on myself to be able to perform.
04:20But yeah, I didn't quite know how well it was going to go.
04:23I had to, you know, play well.
04:26I had to get into a new team.
04:28I had to understand the culture.
04:30And from that point of view, I'm really happy with how it's been going so far.
04:35And yeah, I think I've just built on my time here.
04:39I think the last two seasons, with the way we play with the new coach,
04:43the style of play I spoke after the game about suiting my style.
04:48And I'm just in a confident way right now, you know.
04:52Physically, I'm in a good place.
04:54Mentally, I'm in a really good place.
04:56So every game I go into, I feel confident that I'm going to get chances.
04:59And if I'm getting chances, I know I'm going to score goals.
05:02Next one, one row behind you.
05:05Harry, you obviously enjoyed quite a big rivalry with Chelsea during your time at Tottenham.
05:10Is that something that adds a bit more to this game for you,
05:14facing a Premier League team and maybe trying to hurt them again?
05:18Yeah, I think the rivalry was a good rivalry we had,
05:22especially early on in my Tottenham career, you know, with that Pochettino era.
05:27And we had a lot of tough games, good games against each other.
05:30So, yeah, I think playing against Premier League opposition,
05:34there's always maybe a little bit more expectation around the game.
05:39Obviously, maybe the Chelsea fans don't like me as much.
05:43And when we play Arsenal, the Arsenal fans don't like me as much.
05:45But that makes me want to play better.
05:48That motivates me.
05:50So, yeah, look, there's got to be some familiar faces that I've played against,
05:53some that I play with with England.
05:55So all those things added, it just brings a little something special around the game.
06:00And I think, you know, being at the Allianz, having an English team here,
06:06you know, as a team, we like to, you know, try and stamp our authority on the game.
06:11And we'll try and do that tomorrow.
06:13But like I said earlier, we're playing against a very good side.
06:15So we have to be at 100%.
06:18We stay in the English corner, yes.
06:20Hi, Harry.
06:21You've obviously played a lot with Michael Lisey and Cole Palmer.
06:24And, you know, Michael's obviously quite close to going to Chelsea at one stage.
06:28Can you just compare them as players and, you know, what you like most about each of them?
06:32Yeah, two great players have a lot of similar attributes.
06:37I think they both find the space really well.
06:40Their forward passing is really good.
06:42They see runs, they see through balls and execute them at a high level.
06:47And both of them, you know, score goals.
06:50Michael might be a bit more of a wide player sometimes, can play 1v1,
06:56use his pace a little bit more, where Cole might like to come into the number 10 position
07:00and even as a number nine and run in behind and finish himself.
07:04So, yeah, some differences there as well.
07:07But, yeah, both fantastic players.
07:09I'm glad Michael's with us and not with them.
07:12Next one is Mario Krischel for Kika.
07:16Hi, Harry.
07:17Data shows that you have been even more involved in the build-up game this season.
07:22Is that something that you planned on doing or did it just happen?
07:26Probably just happened, actually.
07:29I think I might have spoke before, you know, when Jamal,
07:32when I'm not playing with Jamal, maybe I like to drop a little bit deeper
07:37because when Jamal's playing, you know, he's amazing at dropping into those spaces
07:40and playing 1v1 and creating space and opportunities for others.
07:46So, maybe that's obviously where Jamal's been injured this season.
07:49You know, the game has just demanded me to maybe come a little bit deeper
07:53and try and connect.
07:55And also, I spoke before about, you know, it helps me sometimes to then get chances myself
08:00because if you stay as a number 9, sometimes it's easy to be man-marked
08:04and shut out the game a little bit.
08:06So, if there's times that happens in a game, I like to come and try and connect.
08:10I like to try and play balls out wide.
08:13And it allows me then to get into the box a little bit later
08:16and arrive and get chances that way.
08:18So, yeah, I wouldn't say it's something we specifically worked on,
08:21but I just think different personnel determines, you know, different types in my game.
08:27Vincent Schöpke again.
08:29Harry, you played here at Bayern Munich and also before for Tottenham,
08:35for clubs which rely on consistency.
08:38You played with Jong-Winson for so many years.
08:40On the other side, there's Chelsea, which gets loads of new players each transfer window.
08:45So, what do you think is better for a team and how does it affect the team
08:49if you get so many new players each summer?
08:52I'm not too sure.
08:54I think, you know, it's not really my expertise to talk on.
08:58Chelsea, obviously, have brought a lot of players in the last few years,
09:02a lot of young players.
09:04Yeah, sometimes trying to connect those dots are not always easy
09:08because a lot of different personalities, a lot of new faces,
09:14even getting to know players for them to get to know the new club, the new town.
09:18There's a lot that goes into moving clubs.
09:20So, from that point of view, it might be difficult,
09:23but also, you know, they're buying some of the best players,
09:27young players in the world.
09:29So, if you find a way for them to work together, they're going to be a great team,
09:33hence them winning the Club World Cup.
09:36So, yeah, from my point of view, I've probably been at clubs where it's more stable,
09:41getting to know players a little bit longer
09:43and building relationships that way.
09:46But, you know, I guess time will tell over the next 10 years or so
09:50which way is the best way to go forward.
09:53Back to UK, first of all, please.
09:57Hi, Harry.
09:58You spoke earlier on about how you satchels at Bayern.
10:01What have you been doing to help Nicholas Jackson settle here?
10:05And how has he been looking in training?
10:07And do you get the impression that he's hungry to score against his parent club tomorrow night?
10:13Yeah, he's been great so far.
10:15I think it was good for him to get the 45 minutes on the weekend.
10:19I thought he looked sharp.
10:21I thought, you know, we had a couple of half chances there.
10:25In training, he's looked really good.
10:27It's not easy coming into a team like us when we're so well drilled, I guess,
10:32over the last kind of year and a bit with the coach and the way we press
10:36and the way we like to play and the connections.
10:39You know, he's still learning that aspect of it.
10:42But I said after the game, he shows a lot of qualities.
10:46He physically is very strong and fast.
10:49And for sure, you know, if he plays tomorrow, he'll be eager to impress.
10:54He'll be eager to get his first Bayern Munich goal.
10:57But, yeah, look, I don't want to put too much pressure on him too soon.
11:00He knows he's, you know, working his way into the team and the way we like to play.
11:06And all I can say is, so far, he's had a great attitude.
11:09And the willingness to learn is the most important thing.
11:13And on the left side, yes, please.
11:20Hi, Harry. Nice to see you.
11:21I just wanted to ask a bit more about Cole Palmer.
11:23You've sort of seen his rise and spent all that time with him as well in Germany.
11:26What have you seen in him?
11:28Is he world-class and is he ready for this stage?
11:30Because I don't think he's been sort of a main player for a team in the Champions League before
11:34and this will be his first campaign.
11:36Yeah, all I can say is he's a great player.
11:38You know, I enjoy playing with Cole.
11:40Whenever you have a number 10 who can, you know, find through balls, good crosses,
11:46good link-up play, can drop deep and play longer balls, can arrive in the box and score goals.
11:51I think he has all the attributes to be a world-class player.
11:55For me, world-class is when you do it over a period of time, consistently over 5-10 years.
12:03But for sure, he's on that path.
12:05Yeah, it's been a shame not to, you know, play with him in the last camps.
12:09You know, hopefully he stays fit over the next year because he's an important player for us with the national team as well.
12:17So, yeah, he's going to be a handful tomorrow.
12:20We know how he likes to play, you know, stopping him is another thing that we're going to have to get right.
12:26But, yeah, hopefully we can keep him quiet tomorrow.
12:31But then from an England point of view, the next camps and stuff, he can be in the team
12:35and we can start to build a connection leading up to the next summer.
12:39Okay.
12:41That's it.
12:42Okay.
12:44See you tomorrow.
12:45Oops.
12:46Gentlemen.
12:47Bye.
12:48See you tomorrow.
12:49That's it.
12:50Going away.
12:51Thank you!
12:52See you tomorrow.
