00:59place had been booked out. You should all enjoy today. Kai said, as he threw a small cocktail
01:06sausage in the air and caught it in his mouth. Everyone did a good job yesterday and we don't
01:11know when they will attack again. There were smiles all around and the others couldn't stop commenting
01:17to each other about their skills. Hey Marie, do you think maybe you could show me how to use some of
01:23those altered weapons? Tyler asked. I mean for self-defense, of course. I mean, sure, I would be
01:32happy to. I'm not too busy these days. Marie replied. If you want to learn self-defense then
01:39you should learn to fight using your bare hands first. A deeper female voice said, which caused
01:45tingles to run up and down Tyler's spine. If you lose your weapon, then what are you going to do?
01:51You should come practice with me. The boys were smirking at the suggestion, in their head they
01:57could just imagine Tyler getting whipped by Olivia every time he did something wrong.
02:03Gary you must have gotten even stronger right? For you to take out all those guys on your own,
02:08are they feeding you some type of special juice at that academy? Inu asked. Gary was nervous to
02:15answer because, in a way, Inu was right. One of the main reasons for his growth was due to him
02:21eating others and the beasts in the special lessons. It's a shame we didn't see you fight.
02:27Austin commented. I would have liked for you to have seen my altered form, and hearing about what
02:33you did, I would have liked to have seen it in person. When Gary had first arrived at the scene of
02:39the factory, he was only going to help out to the point where the others didn't get hurt. However,
02:44he had received a specific quest to take out 50% of the attacking forces. This made him act quickly
02:51and display more of his powers than he would have liked. It was no wonder that the others had heard
02:56of what Gary had done before he was even able to explain it himself. In the end for completing the
03:02quest he had received a single pawn point, which he thought was a bit cheap, but then again due to the
03:07level of opponent he was going against, it made sense since the job wasn't hard by any means.
03:14As the day went on and the group were enjoying their celebrations, the sky was quickly turning dark.
03:20Gary stayed mostly by Kai's side as they talked about what was going to happen next.
03:25What was amazing to Gary was that Number had a relationship with the Cardenas group.
03:30He realized where he had heard the name before. The fact that Kai's plan and Gary's wish to help
03:37number lined up with each other was perfect. I'll be honest, I felt bad asking the gang to help out
03:42in a personal matter, so it does make me feel a bit more at ease. Gary said.
03:48These people have already gone through a lot of troubles Gary. Also they joined the gang knowing
03:54full well that they would do these types of things. If anything, I would like you to be more honest and
04:00utilize us more when you need it. You have to understand that it's because of you this gang exists.
04:05It was nice strong words that certainly made Gary feel like the entire group was stronger
04:11and closer together compared to before, he felt like he was missing out a little.
04:16Speaking of your friends, or maybe I should say the friends that were at the other factory
04:20along with us, I was surprised that they were all quite skillful. You having gone to that academy
04:26may have improved the gang in more ways than you realize. Also I was wondering, do they know
04:32you're the leader? Gary shook his head. I didn't tell them anything and was surprised to hear they
04:38were here to be honest. They think the Howlers are just a group that sponsored me. Well, if you trust

04:49might cause a problem, maybe even for the academy. Gary would keep this in mind, as there were already
04:55enough people that were keeping an eye on him at the academy. Eventually it started.
05:01To get late, and one by one everyone began to head home. Even Marie and her mother had headed back,
05:08leaving only Kai and Gary alone together. You don't have to stay and babysit me.
05:14I looked after myself for a long time before I met you.
05:17I have a lot of paperwork to do, so you go ahead. They were in SLU and Kai was as strong as any
05:24altered, so he felt like he didn't have much to worry about as he went ahead and left Kai
05:29downstairs in the office on his own. An hour later, Kai started to yawn. Looking at the time,
05:36it was 11pm. It wasn't too late, but the party must have taken quite a bit out of him.

05:56Thanks to his enhanced hearing, Kai was able to make out the sound of someone being at the door,
06:01even from downstairs in his office. Wondering who it might be at this late hour,
06:07he decided to take a break from the paperwork and find out. It was only when he was at the
06:12stairs that he noticed that the noise didn't belong to a single individual, but a small group.
06:18Not fearing for his own safety, the werewolf opened the door.
06:22It's rare to see visitors at this time of night. Kai stated as he got a good look at the three before
06:28him. After a slight moment of surprise from suddenly having the door open from the inside,
06:34the visitors immediately bowed down.
06:36We are so sorry for disturbing you late at night, sir. A female voice stuttered.
06:44Don't you think that's a bit much? He looks the same age as us. A male voice spoke his mind.
06:52As a result, the boy received a kick from his female companion, making the other boy shake his

07:45pop drinks from behind the bar. After that the blonde teenager gestured them to take a seat on the
07:51bar stools, already having a good guess as to why they had come to slough. As you can see,
07:57this place is empty, but something is telling me you aren't here for a game of pool or drinks.
08:03Kai suggested. We. We heard that this place belongs to the Howlers. Are you part of their group,

09:11Number. Number's face changed, now that he knew that he was actually talking to a high-ranking
09:16knowing member of the Howlers, and most likely a top one as well. We were sent here by the Cardenas
09:23group, to support you from a possible attack for the Scatterbugs. Number proudly said. Although,
09:30we don't think you will have any trouble dealing with them. We believe that it is not right that the
09:35Howlers take on all the risk, that we should have some part on the line as well. Kai nodded as he
09:41heard these words. If it was a large-scale attack, then of course having three altered, especially
09:47talented ones like these, would always be a welcome help. I assume that you came here directly because
09:54you wish to meet our leader as well. Perhaps to personally thank him. Kai asked and the three
10:00nodded in unison. That's too bad. Unfortunately, you just missed him. However, I will happily pass
10:09on the message to him. There was a nervous pause as the students didn't really know what to do now.

10:36where he is. You see, we are quite close with him, and wanted to also know if he asked the gang for help.
10:44We just hope that he won't get in trouble or has to do some crazy deal to get you to help him.
10:49Kai couldn't help but smile at this sweet statement. How did you manage to win over a
10:55bunch of students like this? Gary, you really do have this natural nature as a leader to attract
11:01people around you. Don't worry, Gary has quite the special status in the howlers and I'm happy
11:07to learn that he has made such caring friends during his stay. Kai stated. Tell you what,
11:13if you come here tomorrow, I'll make sure to arrange a meeting with Gary and our leader. Also,
11:19if you guys don't have a place to stay, then I can take you to one of our hotels we have part ownership
11:24in, let me just grab my things. Kai went downstairs and the three students were happy to know that the
11:30members of the howlers were kind people. They knew that gang members were hard to deal with,
11:36but it didn't seem to be the case here. KRGG, did you hear that? Ian asked, turning around,
11:43toward the door and could see the handle moving up and down. I think someone is trying to get in.
11:49Izzy answered as the door continued to be rattled around. The next second, the door was kicked right
11:56off its hinges and went flying towards the group. Number quickly stood in the way and knocked the door
12:01to the side. Standing at the entrance was a man in a Hawaiian shirt.

12:123 Altered Unite in the middle of the night, in a place like this,
12:16Number didn't expect to have to fight. Neither did he expect to get a door slammed into his face,
12:22and he wasn't too pleased about it. His instincts were telling him to transform,
12:27as the person in front of him clearly had no good intentions coming here. The horns grew from his
12:32head and the shape of his feet were changing slightly already breaking through his shoes.
12:38Who the hell is that guy? Why did he do that? Ian asked puzzled about the sudden intrusion.
12:45I don't know him, but we can be sure that he's not a friend of the howlers based on his entrance.
12:51Izzy commented, as she started to transform as well. The hair on her head started to clump together,
12:57growing larger, turning into six separate hands. Should I transform as well? Isn't that overkill
13:04against just one guy? Ian commented. Besides, maybe this is just some sort of giant misunderstanding.
13:13Where are they? The man in the Hawaiian shirt questioned them. Where are the people in the masks?
13:20I need to get rid of them all. Okay, scratch that, he's clearly an enemy. Ian sighed. At that moment,
13:28the man at the entrance ran forward toward them. The floorboards underneath his feet broke. Rather
13:35than running across the floorboards what they were looking at now was somewhat more of a leap. A strong
13:41powerful jump went across the entire length of the room, and while he was Medare, his eyes started to
13:46glow yellow, black fur started to grow across his face and arms. His attack targeted Izzy first,
13:53her hair stretched out, aiming for the hands and legs of the attacker. The female altered attempted
13:59to wrap the person up, which would allow for number to strike at him with his strongest attack. As soon
14:05as her hair got close though, the hands of the attacker turned into sharp deadly claws, and swinging
14:11his hands the hair got ripped through. Arrgh! Izzy shouted in pain. She was in her transformed state,
14:19and although it looked slick, the hair's durability was able to rival steel. And yet,
14:25the man had severed it like it was nothing. Unfortunately for Izzy, all those hair extensions
14:31had a ton of nerves inside of them, making her feel as if someone had pulled out all her teeth.
14:37After slamming through most of the hair strands, the man then allowed for one of the clumped up
14:41parts of hair to wrap around his wrist. He then twisted it around a few more times before pulling forward,
14:48causing Izzy to be lifted into the air. Let go of her! Number shouted, as he exploded in speed and
14:55was right in front of the man. The goat altered delivered an explosive punch right into the man's
15:01stomach. A shockwave was sent out as the man's body was lifted in the air slightly and his grip on
15:07Izzy's hair loosened for a bit. However, a smile appeared on the man's face, as he swung his leg,
15:14kicking Number right in the face. The altered crashed into one of the pool tables, breaking it on the
15:20spot, yet after a few seconds he got back up. I see that you are quite a strong one. The man admitted.
15:28Out of respect for you brave young fighters, I shall tell you my name. I'm Midwack Convel,
15:34the person who will send you to your graves. Midwack then quickly jumped in the air once again.
15:41He leapt up as he was ready to land on top of Number, grabbing both hands together ready to
15:45slam them down, but as he did, another person dove right on top of Number, his back facing away.
15:52Then, straight out of his back, large golden-colored bristles came out.
15:57Midwack ignored this as he slammed his hands through the brittle tore right through sticking
16:02out on the other end. It didn't pierce his bone, but it had moved them to the side as it stuck out.
16:08The attack had still managed to crash into Ian's back, at great strength, but Ian used all the power
16:14he could, to not crush Number any more than he could.
16:18Ian, what are you doing? Number asked. Blood was pouring out from Ian's mouth.
16:25My name. I'm going to tell that bastard my name.
16:29Ian shouted at the top of his lungs, his back started to shake and so did the bristles.
16:34Midwack could sense something was going to happen as he pulled both his arms out.
16:40Seconds after and the bristles started to shoot out heading straight towards him.
16:44Lifting his arms in a cross, he covered his face, but the hard, thick bristles still managed to hit
16:50different parts of his body. Eventually, Midwack moved and jumped back, and was back to the entrance
16:56of the place. Number got up off the ground, and helped Ian as well, who seemed to be partly exhausted
17:03after the little attack of his. The good thing was, it looked like Izzy wasn't badly injured either as
17:09her hair had regrown to what it once was, and the three of them stood there looking at the attacker.
17:15My name, my name is Ian. And you fucker don't even deserve to know my last name.
17:22Just remember that I was the one to kick your arse. Ian shouted, his words weren't so convincing as a
17:28small amount of blood spilt out of his mouth. It was then, that Midwack let out a large almost
17:34howl-like noise, as his eyes began to glow. Bristles shot out of his body onto the floor
17:40and the surrounding area. Right in front of their eyes, the wounds that he had suffered,
17:45starting to heal up at a visible pace. With no use for the shirt anymore,
17:50Midwack decided to just rip it off, burying his chest to them all. After healing his wounds,
17:56his arms were transforming more than before, being covered in fur and the eyes were memorizing as in
18:02the backdrop the yellow glow from them could clearly be seen. Guys, am I going crazy,
18:08or are there more and more wolf-altered showing up recently? Number asked, gulping down hard.
18:15He must be an exiled member of the Howlers. The claws, the transformation, the crazy healing
18:21factor and physical abilities. We need to work together, because right now it feels like the
18:27time the three of us were going up against Gary. Izzy cautioned them to be careful.
18:33Midwack continued to walk toward the three with confidence. You three were just collateral,

19:05and seconds later they could see what looked like a large altered wolf-like human lift the transformed
19:10man into the air and slam him onto the ground. Those clothes, they're black and gold, is that the guy
19:17from earlier? Izzy asked, her mind unable to process all these changes. Kai's eyes were shining blue,
19:25as he took a step back. Breaking through the broken pool table parts, a full-blown werewolf fully
19:31transformed had come out, his yellow eyes challenging the teenager. What the hell is another werewolf doing
19:37here? Kai wondered.
19:44Chapter 534, Beta vs Omega During their time at the academy, the three altered students had seen
19:50Gary transform his appendages many times. They still recalled how shaken up they had been seeing it
19:57for the first time, yet without realizing it they had grown used to it. As such, seeing Kai and Olivia
20:03do the same during the gang war had not really fazed them. Thanks to that experience, seeing Midwack to
20:10do the same and attack them with his deadly claws and strength, the trio hadn't been frightened into
20:15inaction. Nevertheless, all of that changed now as they stared at his bestial form. From head to toe,
20:22it felt like they were staring at a wall of muscle. In his full werewolf form, Midwack was around eight
20:28feet tall, his head only around a foot shy of touching the ceiling. His razor-sharp teeth had
20:35bits of saliva dropping off its teeth onto the floor. Their natural instinct told the three altered that
20:41they should run away, rather than face such a creature. They're in full altered form. Ian shouted
20:48as he pointed at the two. It wasn't just Midwack that was giving them a strange feeling because they
20:54could see the blonde teenager had fully transformed as well. If it wasn't for the fact they could still
21:00see his black and gold uniform that had stretched to fit his new size, there was a good chance they
21:05wouldn't have recognized him either. For a moment, nobody moved. A heavy, deep breathing could be
21:12heard from the two werewolves in the room. It will be my first time fighting against a werewolf who isn't
21:18Olivia or Gary. Kai thought to himself as he continued to observe the intruder. Unlike with
21:24Olivia or Gary, I don't feel any sort of connection to him, so he could be from another pack. I have no
21:31idea how old that guy is, but he doesn't seem so surprised to see that I'm also a werewolf. I have no
21:38idea what he is capable of, so I need to be careful, especially with Gary's friends still around.
21:43You. Midwack pointed with a long finger and a sharp fingernail. Your eyes, you're a beta.
21:52You're not worth my time. Bring out your leader. There was a heavy growl with his voice. It shook
22:00what was left of the furniture and the students couldn't help but gulp. They even had to remind
22:06themselves to breathe in this situation. Fine, if you don't want to call him, I'll give your alpha a
22:12reason to show up. Midwack smiled as he charged at the gray werewolf. Once he was within range,
22:19Kai swung out his leg, aiming for a kick to the face. The muscles of his physical werewolf body
22:25along with the speed were great. It hit the side of Midwack's arm, who grunted a little bit and placed
22:31the leg under his armpit as he grabbed on and lifted Kai's entire body, slamming him into the floor.
22:37We have to help. Number stammered, yet still exploding forward. A large sound was made from
22:45the floorboards as Number launched from his position. Although his attention had been on Kai,
22:51Midwack who leapt up in the air and grabbed onto the ceiling with his legs and arms. Meanwhile,
22:57Number continued forward and hit nothing, making him unable to stop. That was the problem with his
23:02altered form. His explosive power was as much a boon as it was a downside when he missed.
23:09I don't need you annoying flies anymore. Midwack growing as he jumped down from the ceiling and
23:15went toward both Ian and Izzy. Seeing this once again Ian was ready to sacrifice himself as he
23:21activated his altered form standing in front of his childhood friend. The large arm was raised and at a
23:27speed beyond Ian's ability to follow he felt a heavy backhand hit his face and his whole body was
23:32chucked in the air with it. The altered looked back while in the air and he could see the werewolf
23:37standing right in front of Izzy who was shaking with fear. The girl hadn't transformed, nor had she
23:43moved from her spot. Move. I have to move. Why isn't my body listening to me? Izzy's mind was ordering
23:53her feet to do as they were told, but nothing was happening. Everyone else was able to move,
23:58so why can't I? Opening its large mouth, Midwack bit right down on Izzy's shoulder. His teeth easily
24:06sunk into her flesh and as the boys saw this, they screamed at the top of their lungs. Izzy looked at
24:12both of them. She only felt a sharp yet dull pain in the area. A breeze of wind seemed to go past number
24:20just then, as he saw something else leap up and open its mouth wide. It bit down hard right, on Midwack's
24:27neck it had clenched down hard not letting go and twisting its head. That's a, gray wolf. Number was
24:34baffled as to where that creature had come from. With altered being an accepted part of society it
24:40wasn't too strange for two people to transform into wolf-human hybrids, but this was undoubtedly a wild
24:45animal, a large one at that which had appeared out of nowhere. Yet, it had some strange items of
24:52clothing on it as well. Eventually, Midwack was forced to let go of Izzy, shifting his attention
24:58to the gray wolf. It was on the floor on all fours and the wolf began to run right toward Midwack
25:04when it leapt up in the area where it transformed back into a werewolf crashing right into the black
25:08fur giant, piercing his stomach with his sharp nails. Kai's werewolf form was hovering above him,
25:15who knelt on the floor putting pressure on the wound. You, goat altered, take your friends out
25:21of here. Kai ordered in a growling voice. You're no help in the fight, and are more of a hindrance.
25:28If you want to help, call Gary. Midwack lifted his hand off the wound that had already healed and
25:34his nails that pointed at Kai flew through the air like projectiles embedding themselves in the gray
25:39werewolf's chest. He was bleeding profusely, but not stopping there the black werewolf
25:45jumped from the floor and landed right on top of Kai. Just get out of here, and look for Gary.
25:52Kai shouted as the two werewolves were wrestling on the ground. Tell them what is going on and to get
25:57Olivia and the others. Hurry.
26:04In the novel, chapter 535, a call for help number was reluctant to follow the orders from Kai. Who in
26:11their right mind would send away three altered, much less if those happened to be talented AFA students?
26:17Sure, the goat altered had to admit that the gray werewolf was faring better against Midwack than their
26:23trio, but, was that really the right thing? When he looked at the condition of Ian, who had been hit twice,
26:30most likely suffering internal damage, and the side of his friend's face was swelling up,
26:35it became clear that the three of them were not really in fighting conditions anymore.
26:40Then there was Izzy whose shoulder was bleeding quite badly. Her clothes had already been dyed red,
26:46and would have to be discarded later. I don't want to leave him on his own,
26:50but I need to look after my friends. They came along with me just to help out,
26:55I can't let them die. Number, almost closing his eyes, ran to his allies because if he could see
27:02what was going on, he thought there was a higher chance for him to jump in. He picked up Ian first,
27:08and then went next to Izzy, and all three of them started to head out of the door.
27:13The good news was that both of them, although hurt, were conscious and still able to move.
27:17They were moving fast down the street, but as they did they could hear loud crashes and bangs from
27:23behind. They were clearly coming from the club, and they could only imagine the destruction that was
27:29going on. Ah! Izzy shouted in pain as she tripped over her own leg and fell onto the concrete,
27:36her knees had banged against the floor, but the pain coming from her shoulder was hurting far more.
27:41This bite, it stings like crazy. Should we, head to the hospital or something? Number asked,
27:50panicked and unsure what to do. He was even looking around to see if there was anyone on the street,
27:55but it had to be close to midnight, and this wasn't really a popular area for people to be at this time
28:00of day. I'll be okay. I can bear with it, for now. Izzy said through gritted teeth. It was hurting a lot,
28:10but the girl felt like she had only been a burden so far, so she couldn't get in the way again.
28:15They needed to help Kai, who had risked his own life to allow them to get away with their lives.
28:20That guy, he told us to find Gary, right? Izzy asked. Yeah, I thought that was strange as well.
28:30Ian mentioned. Shouldn't we be looking for a member of the Howlers, or maybe try to find their leader?
28:36Why would he ask for Gary specifically? Izzy thought about it for a while,
28:41but Gary also had a similar form to all of them. At first, she thought the attack might have been to
28:47do with the scatter bugs, but maybe this was something else. Had someone sold the Howlers
28:53all the solution, and now there was a disagreement. Perhaps, the teenage boy was asking Gary not for
29:00help, but for him to run away, or know the right thing to do. At the moment, we really don't know
29:06anyone in the Howlers in the first place. Izzy pointed out. So the best thing we can do is try
29:12and listen to that guy and do our best to get in contact with Gary. Scanning through her pocket,
29:18Izzy was trying to look for her phone, but she couldn't find anything. Her best guess was that it
29:24must have fallen out of her pocket when they were fighting earlier. Ian, understanding what she was
29:29doing, went ahead and searched through his pockets. He felt a small prick, and when pulling
29:35it out from his pocket he found out the reason. It turned out his phone got completely smashed up and
29:41in pieces. Then there was one, they could at least try calling him, when number looked, surprisingly
29:47he still had his phone. There were smiles on their faces but when he scrolled through his list he
29:53realized something. I. I don't have Gary's number. Number said in a quiet voice, burning him strange
30:01gazes from the others. We were without our phones for so long, and we were seeing each other every day,
30:07okay. I never thought something like this would happen, so I didn't ask for his number.
30:13We have to do something. Ian said, as he turned to Izzy. You're the smart one, we have no phone,
30:21and we're in a foreign town in the middle of the night, so how do we contact Gary? There was a
30:26worried look on Izzy's face, because in the end she could only come up with one desperate answer.
30:31A few moments later, running down the streets of SLU, without any shame, or any concern at all,
30:38they started to shout. Gary. Gary, are you out there? They shouted at the top of their lungs.
