00:00So what did shut down the nuclear missiles at Maelstrom Air Base, and why?
00:05This was extraterrestrial in nature.
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we'll be diving into the world of unidentified anomalous phenomenon,
00:13what used to be called UFOs, and their connection to nuclear sites.
00:17To some, it appears that the light is beaming directly into the base's weapon storage area,
00:22where nuclear missiles are reportedly housed.
00:25In recent years, many believe that UFOs, now referred to as UAP, or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon,
00:33have gone from conspiracy theory to confirmed fact.
00:36Exactly what they are, however, is yet to be determined.
00:39Since the release of the UAP videos in 2017, including the famous The Tic Tac video,
00:45the U.S. government has admitted their existence, and has even declassified many documents relating to UAP.
00:50There's a UAP!
00:51Many members of the U.S. military have since come forward to share their experiences witnessing these phenomenon.
01:01There's also been an increase in former members of the U.S. government coming forward
01:06to share what first-hand knowledge they have in UAP programs, known and unknown to the public.
01:11Luis Elizondo is one such individual.
01:14Elizondo is the former director of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, AATIP.
01:19This Pentagon program studied UFOs in secret, and was unknown to the public for many years.
01:24Let me be clear.
01:26UAP are real.
01:27In 2024, the appearance of drones in New Jersey kicked off another round of debate about UAPs in the United States.
01:34The phenomena wasn't contained to the East Coast, however.
01:37Soon after, many cities across the United States and around the world were seeing the same thing.
01:42Drones and orbs that seemed to defy our idea of modern physics were being reported.
01:47We clearly saw several that would move horizontally, and then immediately switch back in the opposite direction.
01:53Government officials couldn't seem to agree on an explanation, even though some of those objects were hovering over military bases and nuclear sites.
02:00One such base is the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, home to a decommissioned 10-megawatt nuclear reactor.
02:06Those airspaces are tightly controlled, and people get arrested for accidentally getting too close to one.
02:12The first atomic bomb test took place in 1945 at the Trinity test site at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.
02:20Shortly after, a UAP may have crashed on a nearby ranch, according to witnesses.
02:25Jacques Valli, who was the inspiration for the scientists in Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind, co-wrote a book on the topic.
02:32Although many have questioned the veracity of this story, others maintain it should be believed.
02:36The Trinity, they saw it arrive, and they saw it crash, and they were there for 10 days afterwards.
02:43A link between UFOs and nuclear capability has certainly been seen in popular culture.
02:48The Day the Earth Stood Still is an early example.
02:51Their function is to patrol the planets in spaceships like this one, and preserve the peace.
02:56Tom DeLong, one-third of the popular band Blink-182, later wrote a novel loosely based on the incident, in hopes of highlighting the important connection between UAP and our nuclear sites.
03:07DeLong has also been working with members of the U.S. government and military to compile similar experiences.
03:13You can always look back, and UFOs were always very actively showing up where our nuclear weapons were, anything to do with nuclear weapons, nuclear tests, and things of that nature.
03:25Ufologist Robert Hastings spent decades interviewing members of the U.S. military who had similar experiences.
03:32Hastings compiled these interviews into a book titled UFOs and Nukes, Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites.
03:39During this time, Hastings interviewed over 160 members of the military and documented their experiences.
03:46Many of those interviewed were part of the Personnel Reliability Program, lending credence to their testimony.
03:51I have a few contacts, former and retired high-level intelligence community and DOD, Defense Department personnel.
04:00He himself claims to have been witness to UAP on the radar systems of Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1967.
04:07From that point forward, the idea of a connection between UAP and nuclear sites would continue to be prevalent, as he gathered data from others who had witnessed UAP incursions at U.S. nuclear bases.
04:18I went, holy cow, you know, that's what I think went on at Malmstrom, and apparently that's going on various places.
04:26Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1967 is thought to have been a hot spot for UAP activity.
04:31It was one of the largest missile fields in the U.S., covered 23,500 square miles, and included four missile squadrons.
04:38It's also one of three U.S. Air Force bases that operates, maintains, and secures the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, or ICBM.
04:47We had control of ten nuclear missiles.
04:52The Minuteman won.
04:53Captain Robert Salas is another military member who has come forward over the years since his experience in 1967 at Malmstrom Air Force Base.
05:02His guards called him up on March 24th, as he had been stationed underground, stating that they were seeing an object above the base, moving in ways that couldn't be explained.
05:11He's screaming into the phone. He's yelling.
05:14Sir, I'm looking at the front gate. I see this glowing red object.
05:18Captain Salas told them to ensure the safety of the weapons, before immediately calling his commander to explain the situation.
05:25Salas wakes his commander and tells him the guards report of a UFO above the base.
05:30With hundreds of military members sharing similar UAP experiences at nuclear facilities, some government representatives came forward wanting more transparency on the matter, such as Senator Harry Reid.
05:41It's good that we're looking at it, and I hope we do look at it more, and I wish government would get more involved rather than less involved.
05:46He unfortunately passed away in 2021, before he could witness the issue being resolved, but not before he made his position known.
05:53Something that the military and state departments should be interested in.
05:57It's not just military nuclear bases, either.
06:00UAPs have been sighted during some of the world's most devastating nuclear power plant explosions, as well.
06:06In 1986, there were several reports of UAPs spotted around Chernobyl shortly before and after the explosion.
06:13In 2011, a nuclear accident took place at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Japan.
06:18Shortly after the explosion, a monk claimed that, quote, UFOs came after the explosion.
06:23There were UFO sightings reported in some significant numbers in that area in the weeks and the days leading up to the earthquake and tsunami.
06:33There were so many of them, I was shocked.
06:35The monk added his own theory as to why.
06:37Radioactive energy was leaking everywhere.
06:39I believe the UFOs came to readjust the flood of radioactive energy in order to save us.
06:44That's my theory anyway, end quote.
06:46Even with the explosion and the earthquake that kicked it off, miraculously, the temple was untouched.
06:51Residents of Aino, a town near Fukushima, have a long history of UAP sightings, making many wonder again about a connection between UFOs and nuclear areas.
07:01Ever since the 1970s, residents from the nearby town of Aino, Fukushima, have reported seeing strange flying objects here.
07:10Many others, including investigative journalist George Knapp, have also extolled this connection.
07:15Another strange connection between UAP and nuclear capabilities is the fact that some first-hand witnesses to these objects have obtained radiation injuries.
07:24One particular instance was the Rendlesham Forest incident in the UK on Boxing Day, 1980.
07:30U.S. servicemen documented a UAP sighting just outside the Royal Air Force Station based in Woodbridge.
07:36Suddenly, Sergeant Stevens notices a strange light in the woods, just off the road.
07:41One of these servicemen reportedly touched the object and obtained injuries directly from this interaction.
07:47His name was John Burroughs, a U.S. serviceman, and he was one of the first individuals on the scene that night.
07:52Then the object, whatever it was, lifted up, went up, and then moved back away, over the trees.
07:58It was a long journey for Burroughs and everyone else wanting transparency around this incident.
08:02He took our statements, kind of looked at them, said it was really a wild thing, and there's really no explanation for what's going on.
08:08There was even a citizen hearing in Washington, D.C. in 2013, with witnesses and footage in an effort to bring light to the matter.
08:16However, it wasn't until a declassified report was entered as evidence that Burroughs secured a settlement after attempting for years to prove he had obtained injuries from his encounters with a UAP during active duty.
08:28Adrenaline quickly takes over, and Burroughs breaks into a run.
08:32As I was getting close to whatever it was, all of a sudden I was gone.
08:36The declassified study, codenamed Project Condine, describes the Rendlesham incident as an event where it might be postulated that several observers were probably exposed to UAP radiation.
08:48The Geiger counter begins registering high levels of radiation.
08:51This is the closest to documented proof that there is a legitimate connection, as the Condine report specifically mentions the incident and how radiation from UAP could cause injury, explaining, quote,
09:02that there is a phenomenon that governments of this world are well aware of.
09:06The question is where it comes from.
09:08Those who say they witnessed the UFOs believe the military was more interested in damage control than in finding the truth.
09:15Another injury is said to have resulted from a civilian incident in 1980, referred to as the Cash-Lundrum incident.
09:38This provided the basis for an HBO documentary in 1985.
09:42It involved a couple of friends, 51-year-old Betty Cash and 57-year-old Vicky Landrum, along with Vicky's 7-year-old grandson.
09:49They witnessed a UAP on their way home from dinner in late December of 1980.
09:54What is that light?
09:55I don't know, it's awful bright.
09:57Is that an airplane?
09:58Both adults left the vehicle to examine the object, which had come closer and gotten brighter, while hovering around treetop level.
10:04The object was emitting exceptional heat, to the point that upon re-entering the vehicle, a coat was needed to protect Betty's hand from the car door.
10:12The door handle was so hot, I couldn't even begin to hold on to it.
10:17They even had video evidence, which was shown in the documentary, of an imprint that was left on the dash because the vinyl had been softened by the extreme heat.
10:25Inside the car, it was so hot, till my handprint is yet on the dashboard of Betty's car.
10:33To mark the end of their approximately 20-minute experience, the adults confirmed 23 helicopters came to surround the object, some of which seemed to be military, possibly even U.S. Air Force.
10:44Shortly after, they drove home.
10:45I knew I had to belong to the Army.
10:50After their encounter, they all experienced similar symptoms, including GI issues, weakness, and burning sensations, though Betty's eventually became far worse than the others.
11:00Her temperature was dangerously high, and large red welts had appeared on her face and hands.
11:06She lost the ability to walk, and lost large patches of skin and hair.
11:11She claims her doctors eventually switched from treating her for regular burns to treating her for radiation sickness.
11:16There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Betty was exposed to high doses of radiation.
11:20Some experts connected to the case believe these symptoms to be similar to those caused by ionizing radiation.
11:27But at least they owe us to tell us exactly why we were burned and what type of radiation that we were exposed to.
11:39Ultimately, we don't have any clear evidence to answer the question we're asking.
11:43What is the connection between UAP and nuclear sites?
11:46However, those with more knowledge on the topic than most seem to at least agree on one thing.
11:52The indubitable link between UFOs and nuclear weapons.
11:56We were under the presumption that there was definitely a connection between UAP activity and our nuclear energy.
12:03The question is who's doing it and why are they doing it?
12:05Are you aware of any UAP nuclear connections we may have missed?
12:09Is there any other aspect of the UAP topic that you'd like to see WatchMojo cover in the future?
12:14Let us know in the comments.
12:15Until next time, keep your eyes to the skies.
12:18Pretty clear to me that they were there scoping out our capabilities.
