00:00Every statistic is a human life, a story cut short, a family broken. The trauma and grief will last generations.
00:08Meanwhile, far too many states continue to look away, normalize the suffering and even profit from it.
00:15Arms, trade and diplomatic engagement with Israel continue unabated. And this is not just morally wrong. This is unlawful.
00:22As I argued in my last report to the Human Rights Council, this genocide has become profitable, unfortunately, not just for some corrupt private entities.
00:32But today's genocide as something different is openly incited, cynically denied and relentlessly supported, armed and weaponized while those who oppose it are silenced, beaten, criminalized and smeared.
00:43This is why I say this is the shame of our time and the collapse of the international legal order mileage in this moment.
00:51So, what should be done? Arms embargo, which means no trade in arms, no buying, no selling parts or arms in full, not directly, not indirectly through another state.
01:09This is the first thing that member states should have done already last year when international court of justice recognized the risk of genocide, which is what I find somewhat having passed a breaking point is the political cover for Israel.
01:27Because there is also the, with the, with the attacks in the region that target also a number of states that have been seen like considered allies of the United States, there is a possible acceptance that the, the alliance with Israel is worth the, the erosion of other, other ties.
01:50So, I'll see you next time.
