14:47to be at this high altitude for so long

14:50on such gnarly terrain at 14,000 feet.

14:53I have a local connection out here because I moved about 40 minutes away from where we are now.

14:59And these are kind of my local 14,000 foot peaks that I like to stomp around in.

15:03And there's even some ultra marathon races that go near these peaks on these trails and the Colorado trail.

15:08So it's a really special area.

15:12And tell me a little bit about like, do you know Kilian?

15:16Do you have a background with Kilian?

15:17Do you have a relationship with him?

15:19Yeah.

15:20Well, in my opinion, Kilian's definitely the greatest of all time for men ultra trail mountain runners in the world.

15:26I've had the great honor of being in sky running world championships with him, the golden trail series finals with him

15:32and just seeing him perform, especially his chops on technical terrain, high alpine mountain terrain.

15:38I've had him, I've seen him blow past me and finished quite, quite far ahead of me in a lot of races.

15:44We dueled at the Pikes Peak Marathon in 2019.

15:47So he's just a phenomenal all around mountain athlete and he loves nature.

15:51He loves outdoors.

15:52And I think that passion really shines through in these types of projects.

15:57And kind of on that note, like knowing these mountains so well,

16:01and like why they're so cool.

16:03Like, what would you hope that he gets out of like this project?

16:07Just an appreciation.

16:24Even across the state of Colorado, you've got different types of rocks.

16:27There's a lot of history, Native American history, and a lot of small town, local communities across these small mountain towns

16:34that you wouldn't necessarily see if you just stayed in the big city or the front range

16:38and didn't see all of the 58, 14er peaks in Colorado.

16:43And, oh, also, being able to travel between them on bike or on foot is also a unique experience

16:49because you're literally touching the ground, you're making physical contact with the ground,

16:53and seeing things from the trail, it gives you a different perspective.

16:56So, I know he's a renowned world traveler.

16:59He's done a lot of peaks all around the world, some gnarly stuff,

17:02but I hope he gets to see more of Colorado and appreciate it this fall.
