Nicolas Jackson insists he has no regrets over how his Chelsea career ended, despite the Deadline Day drama that saw him join Bayern Munich.  The Senegalese forward arrived in 2023 as part of Chelsea’s rebuilding project but never truly won over supporters, his raw pace and work rate often undermined by inconsistent finishing and rash challenges. Even so, he leaves with silverware to his name, having helped the Blues lift both the Conference League and the Club World Cup.

00:32Speaking to Toto Sport, Jackson admitted his departure was bittersweet.

00:38I was very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world to discover another league and great players, he explained.

00:46At the same time, I was a little sad to leave Chelsea, my teammates and the fans.

00:51I experienced so many strong emotions there.

00:55Speculation that he left unsettled after Chelsea brought in Liam de Lapp and Gio Pedro was quickly dismissed.

01:01Instead, Jackson stressed his respect for Enzo Maresca, who had overseen his final month in West London.

01:08Football is full of cycles, he said.

01:10Sometimes things don't go as they should, and that's part of the game.

01:15I respect coach Maresca, I learned a lot from him.

01:18He has his own style and ideas, and I just needed something different at this stage.

01:24I have no regrets, only gratitude for my time at the club.

01:29Maresca, for his part, had backed Jackson in public, but was also instrumental in reshaping Chelsea's attack this summer.

01:42The move nearly collapsed after de Lapp's hamstring injury led Chelsea to hesitate, but Bayern pushed the deal through at the 11th hour.

01:51Jackson, however, remained calm.

01:53I never doubted I would sign with Bayern, he said.

01:56Now he looks ahead to the Bundesliga and playing with Bayern Munich, a club chasing another Champions League trophy.
