00:00The first Apple train was today flagged off by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Chinna from
00:07Srinagar railway station. This can pave way for apples to be transported from
00:13Srinagar to other parts of the country. Recently floods caused massive damage to
00:19National Highway 44 that's Srinagar Jammu Highway resulting in a washing
00:23away large parts of the road. But now this train service that was started
00:28today will provide transportation facilities to growers to send their
00:34produce to Delhi and from there to other parts of the country. Growers have
00:41estimated large-scale losses due to the closure of the highway. In fact the
00:48estimate says that almost rupees 700 crore losses have been suffered by growers
00:53because of the closure of the highway.
00:56The service has been increased here and every day will be transported from the
01:06other perishable goods and will be transported from the next day to Delhi. I believe that
01:12there will be a huge impact here in Srinagar.
