00:00...first moto, which could loom large in the overall end of the points.
00:03There is Jett, the champion, normally known for the good start,
00:07but got a terrible launch in the first moto.
00:09Same thing for his title rival, Chase Sexton.
00:12They had to work their way from the back.
00:15Sexton on the number four.
00:16Four to the one.
00:17Can they rebound in race two?
00:21I like...
00:26This is it.
00:27The heart rate's come up.
00:28Add us to the nerves and the revs of the engine.
00:32They're running, and the gate's down.
00:36This time, Jett Lawrence, a good start.
00:38He's on the inside of Sexton, and he adds the progressive hole shot.
00:42You see him run the four wide right there, coming out of the corner,
00:45using up all the track.
00:47Exactly what you need to do, but this is going to be a battle.
00:50Mistake by the 96.
00:52Will that allow?
00:53Oh, no, it's Tomek going around Sexton.
00:55Yeah, you see Eli.
00:56I mean, Chase was just kind of logging, gagging, and Eli, he knows he wants to get up there
01:00with that number one, how strong Jett is.
01:02And that was a close moment by Ken Rockson and Hunter Lawrence.
01:06Ken almost landing on him.
01:07You're talking about an ending.
01:09Oh, look at Tomek.
01:10Outline by Tomek, jumping into the sand section.
01:14Now, Ricky, you talked about in that first photo, Jett maybe kind of eases the way in.
01:19All these guys know that.
01:21That's why you're seeing how aggressive Eli is.
01:22He knows he's just got to make that pass on this track right now.
01:26Well, Eli was running really strong last week until he went down,
01:30so I think that Eli has good speed to get the job done for sure.
01:36Man.
01:37And Hunter Lawrence needs to get to third to win the overall with that first moto win.
01:41He's in fourth right now.
01:42Had that mistake early.
01:43He's rebounded.
01:44He's putting pressure on Sexton.
01:46Almost made the move.
01:49Yeah, I think maybe it's...
01:50Yeah, this is a nice move, but Hunter's been fast.
01:52You know, ironically, Chase didn't have the best finish,
01:55but him, Hunter Lawrence, and Jett Lawrence was the only riders in the 52s there,
01:59you know, as far as his racetrack, excuse me, the one.
02:03So Chase has the pace.
02:04The 96 looks like he's ultra aggressive.
02:07It's like you said.
02:08You always saw it.
02:08I mean, Chase always has good pace.
02:11Always.
02:12Oh, another line from Hunter Lawrence on the inside.
02:15Sexton doesn't square him up.
02:17And just like that, Hunter's in third.
02:18It looks like something's going on with Chase Sexton.
02:22He's messing with his goggles.
02:24He's doing that going into the corner.
02:25He did it on the jump after the corner he got passed by.
02:30Nearly got passed by Cooper Webb on the blue number two here.
02:33And things coming unraveled for the rider on the number four,
02:36who is second in the championship coming into this race.
02:38Yeah, a couple things happened right there.
02:40Chase went to go pull a tear-off, and I believe it got stuck.
02:42He also thought Hunter Lawrence was closer to him,
02:44so he gave that position up thinking Hunter was close.
02:47Hunter wasn't.
02:48He was like, well, I'll take it.
02:49But, yeah, I think it was more of a tear-off issue with Chase,
02:52but it's costly.
02:54Here comes Roxen on the progressive Suzuki, the yellow 94,
02:59right behind his old championship rival in Supercross Cooper Webb.
03:02And they're attacking Sexton.
03:03And the championship points as they run.
03:08Chet would still have the championship lead over his brother Hunter.
03:11But remember, it's triple points next week.
03:13It's within range for Hunter if he can go out and win here and next week.
03:17Man, do you think this corner right here has wreaked havoc for a lot of riders tonight?
03:25Something so simple that you would think, oh, John, it's just a sand roller corner
03:30and how difficult it is for the best in the world.
03:34Yeah, and I think it's getting even more difficult because you see that base coming up.
03:38So now that sand's got deep, it's rough, and now they're hitting a hard base.
03:42So you're expecting sand, and then all of a sudden you hit a hard rock bottom catching these guys out.
03:49Good battle here between Webb and Roxen.
03:51You've got Joey Cevacci and Justin Barsha through next.
03:56Really difficult to make that inside on the split lane when you come off of that double.
04:00The reason it is, kind of like James was saying, how this dirt's starting to get a bit harder.
04:05And there's a lot of braking bumps going in that corner.
04:07And the guys seem like it's a rough ride, and they're having a hard time really getting stopped.
04:13Tight corner as well.
04:17And Sexton able to pull back away from the three-time.
04:21Supercross champion Webb.
04:23Not quite where he was earlier in the season when he won that Supercross title.
04:27Had knee surgery during the summer.
04:29And that was the rider that he beat.
04:31Sexton for that title.
04:32It was a nail-biter.
04:33And that's a thing.
04:35These guys have been racing all summer.
04:36Coop had to have his knee worked on.
04:38Don't discount that time off.
04:40It wasn't an ideal time to be missing on the bike.
04:44There's never an ideal time to be missing time away.
04:47And I think the part where he would struggle is just that intensity in these opening laps.
04:54Not racing would be difficult.
04:56There's some intensity, James.
04:57Here's Tomac keeping the heat on Jet.
05:00Yeah, and every lap Eli stays there, he's going to get more confidence.
05:03Jet started pulling the weight, Ricky, but I don't know if you made a mistake or Eli picked it up.
05:07But I'm going to go back to, and I touched on it a little bit last week, is you just don't know if, like, where, I mean, obviously Jet's riding hard.
05:17But he's okay with a small gap.
05:20This generation is different than when James and I raced, where if you weren't five to ten seconds ahead, you know, you're going to get beat.
05:27So it's so hard to tell, you know, like, I don't want to discount or discredit what Eli's doing because he's a bad dude.
05:35But you just, I'm just always wondering, okay, well, is Jet just maintaining?
05:39It's hard to tell.
05:40Yeah, I think, you know, talking to Jet, he knows if he gets a gap, he can put this race away.
05:47I think he can start making Eli ride behind him.
05:50But when he's smart, he's going to almost let Eli dictate it.
05:54He's like, I'm going to ride this pace.
05:55I'm okay with him being there.
05:56But until he picks that pace up, I don't want to take that chance of going down.
06:00And when Eli closes up, you're going to see the number one picks up.
06:03So always closed up now, James, the legendary Tomek scene on the Ares, Tron Ares drone cam.
06:11Reminder, that movie headed to theaters October 10th.
06:16Tomek, two-time Supercross champion, five-time Pro Motocross champion, is giving Jet Lawrence all he can handle.
06:24That was I was talking about.
06:25You saw in the split lane, both of those two riders going to the outside, I think because of the conditions on the inside.
06:31If it was good enough, I do feel like E.T. would have went on that inside.
06:37Yeah, no, I agree.
06:38I believe.
06:39Yeah, I agree.
06:39And Eli has been in this position a lot this summer.
06:42But as a rider, you try to go back to history and find some good ones.
06:47When you go back to San Diego Supercross, Eli was able to pass Jet the last time we were in the stadium.
06:52These guys were battling.
06:53So I think he's going to try to rely on that because the outdoor season didn't go good.
06:56He always ended here.
06:58It was how important this race is if he could get it.
07:00And the crowd coming to life.
07:02They would love to see Tomek give the fight to Jet.
07:07See Jet coming out of the corner.
07:08He's losing the rear end a little bit compared to Eli.
07:11But I, myself personally, I think Eli is the best at running this paddle tire, or this scoop tire, pardon me.
07:21Yeah, that tire, a controversial pick for a track like this with multiple soils.
07:25Yeah, I didn't see it coming.
07:27And I still don't know, James, you and I were talking about it.
07:29I still don't know.
07:30I'm not sold on it for these conditions.
07:32Yeah, but, you know, as Eli, you know, we can talk.
07:34It might not be nice about Jet.
07:36Pull that out.
07:37It might not be good.
07:38But it's kind of the way I used to set my motorcycle up.
07:41People used to say it doesn't work.
07:42And I'm like, I know.
07:43But the thing is, I know it doesn't work.
07:45And it's more about just that, you know, confidence and knowing I know exactly where it does not work or where it's good at.
07:52And maybe that's why Eli continues to run that tire.
07:55And it's no difference, too, for the people watching here, than compromising on suspension.
08:01If you get something that works well in a rhythm lane, it might not work as well in the corners because it's too stiff and you're not maximizing the grip that you could potentially be getting.
08:11Same with the tire, JT.
08:14And I agree with you guys.
08:16It may not be the ideal choice.
08:18But I think Eli's experience with that tire is what's paying off.
08:22This is really the only tire that he will use.
08:24It's a rare occurrence on the hardest-packed Supercross tracks where he'll now go away from it.
08:29But every other time he is on that Yamaha 450, he's on that tire.
08:34So I think hard-packed conditions, when the track's deteriorating to this spot, he is a little bit more comfortable with the tire than maybe Jet and Hunter would be.
08:43JT, trust is what came across to me when I asked Eli yesterday.
08:47Press conference before they started racing where anybody took to the track, asked him, is the scoop tire on?
08:52And he just went, yep, and it's not coming off.
08:55And it was already made.
08:56That decision was made.
08:57So the trust that he has is totally there.
08:59Yeah, well, that's one less thing he has to, I guess, worry about.
09:02But I think the only thing I would say that affects Eli is that, yeah, he's comfortable with it.
09:07He knows what he's going to do.
09:08But I think he has a hard time getting outside the box.
09:11Even when we saw that first moto, making, changing the lines up, switching the lines up, that tire won't allow him to do that.
09:17So he can stay here with Jet, but if he doesn't have the grip to be able to change his line to get around Jet, I mean, what are you using it for?
09:24Well, we talk about that, too.
09:26But at the same time, we're assuming that they haven't done a lot, maybe hasn't made the improvements for side grip, you know, when you're on that sidewall.
09:35Maybe the scoop tire performs well in that area nowadays.
09:39So the compromise isn't, the gap isn't as big, perhaps.
09:43Oh, that's what they have said.
09:44They've gone a long way to make that.
09:45That tire originally designed for mud and sand, it's not as far off of the other stuff, the harder terrain than the traditional NAMI tire.
09:52This battle in the bottom box is R.J. Hampshire on that white Rockstar Husqvarna.
09:57He's caught Justin Barshaw on the Rockstar Gas Gas.
10:00Those are sister operations, those teams.
10:05As Jet Lawrence in the top box starting to roll away from Tomek now.
10:10And it's tough, James, when you start to inch away just like that every little bit.
10:16Yeah, we go back to earlier where I was saying he could put this away, just this gap.
10:20Eventually, Eli's going to be like, well, he's gone.
10:23I'm going to start riding for second.
10:25That's going to bring Hunter Lawrence back into this thing.
10:27So, yeah, he's definitely picked up the pace for sure.
10:31Halfway through this one, boys, and it's ten minutes down, ten minutes to go.
10:35Reminder that Monster Energy is available now.
10:40This will not affect the overall.
10:42Hunter goes after Tomek.
10:44Hunter still would have the overall win with a first and a third over Jets fourth and first.
10:49Take a look at Jets' lines coming out of the corner.
10:52I really like that, especially where we're at in this race and how the track is shaping up.
10:57It's starting to get really ruddy.
10:58James was talking about how it's starting to get hard and slick.
11:02We're getting down to the base, how that base is hard.
11:04Jets' turning down early.
11:06When he's doing that, he's getting more traction.
11:09He's staying out of that blue groove area, if you will.
11:12Oh.
11:13Oh.
11:14That was close.
11:15Yeah, that was close.
11:16I completely agree.
11:18And in that sand section, it seems to me like he's riding up into the sand and then turning once he banks off,
11:24like he's banking off the sand instead of doing what we saw with Chase Sexton trying to stay underneath,
11:28and he was slipping and sliding.
11:29So he's adapting, and he did that that first race.
11:32He's doing it in the second one, and that's why he's starting to inch away.
11:35Yeah, it really shows up.
11:36He's been doing it in this right-hander quite a bit.
11:39See how right he's right there on the edge.
11:42He'll turn down early.
11:43Just a couple inches lower.
11:46Yeah, and what he's trying to do is avoid that shiny stuff, that light dirt.
11:52He's trying to stay away from that, so him staying into this darker dirt, that's where the traction is.
11:57You can see to the left of that.
11:59That's that shiny stuff he's missing.
12:02Hampshire really pressing Barchanel.
12:06That on and off tabletop right there, when those guys come out of the corner, they triple onto the table,
12:11then they go onto the next tabletop, and over that single,
12:14if you don't grease the backside of that three-footer,
12:17it takes a lot of energy to knock over the handlebars right there in that section.
12:22I know.
12:23It does.
12:24It really does.
12:25But RJ's doing a good job, Will.
12:28Incredible.
12:28We kind of got used to it at PromoterCross, right, James?
12:31It's like, there's RJ again.
12:32Top five, top five.
12:34But Supercross is different because he has not ridden a 450 Supercross season.
12:39We saw him at Daytona, that one-off race, but we haven't seen him set his bike up for it.
12:43I was asking Nate Ramsey, the team manager at Rochelle Hascovano, about that.
12:47And he said, we're getting there.
12:48It's actually, it's been going really well.
12:50He said, but my main thing for RJ is you have a great Supercross season ahead of you in 2026.
12:56Let's figure the bike out.
12:57Let's take this time for testing.
12:59He's like going to stay healthy.
13:00That's his message to him.
13:02I feel like RJ's ride in the outdoor motocross was just as impressive as Jets' championship run when you consider all the things.
13:11Yeah, he looks like a seasoned veteran right here in this class.
13:15Cool to see.
13:16Hunter Lawrence closing on Tomac now.
13:20And it wouldn't have that big of an effect on the overall.
13:22It wouldn't change it at all when you average the two motos together.
13:24But it just shows how strong the 96 is riding.
13:27Yeah, as I was mentioning earlier, eventually if Jets started to slip away, Eli would start riding behind him, which would bring that 96.
13:34And I'm Hunter Lawrence.
13:36I want Eli to just continue going.
13:37I don't want to be close to him because you see how difficult this track is.
13:40These guys are making mistakes by themselves, let alone if you're in a battle.
13:44I don't want to be close to him, either in front of him or farther than I'm back.
13:48Just explain riding behind you.
13:50That's what I might be doing right now.
13:51Yeah, so what Eli's doing, so at first it's like a dog track, you know, the horses.
13:56They chase that rabbit around.
13:58Well, that rabbit's Jet Lawrence.
13:59And if you can see a rabbit, you'll continue to chase it while he's pulling away.
14:03So now Eli, it's just hard to keep that intensity up when you don't have that rabbit to go.
14:08And now you're starting to see the 96 going.
14:10So it's easy to ride behind you.
14:11But I think that's more about what Jet's doing rather than what Eli is.
14:16Hefshire made the move on Varshow.
14:18Show it to you here.
14:19Setting him up, using that outside, similar to what Jet is doing.
14:24But then he falls in the rut.
14:26And oh, Varsha isn't able to go on the tabletop.
14:31Layup pass for RJ.
14:33Doubles to the inside.
14:34And great pass.
14:37Pretty simple, actually.
14:39So that'll put him at eighth behind Savace.
14:42Riding well on that privateer quad lock Honda.
14:45Rocks in sixth.
14:46Oh, that was nice.
14:48Hunter putting pressure on ET3 right now.
14:51Yeah, by his body language, Chase is, you know, about five, six seconds behind him.
14:55So Hunter's not taking any chances.
14:57You can see him when he gets in the middle part of the corner.
14:59He sits up.
15:00You know, make sure he comes out.
15:02He's not getting on the gas too hard.
15:03Don't want to slide around.
15:04So pretty comfortable.
15:05He knows where it is.
15:06And as long as Eli keeps that pace and the number four stays behind him, he'll be fine
15:12to stay where he's at.
15:13Mr. Round 2.
15:16We're going to win Round 2 again, Hunter Lawrence, just like he did the last two years if he hangs
15:20on.
15:21Oh, look at this.
15:22Savace now under fire from Henshire.
15:25Yeah, unfortunately for Joey, he's going to be under fire the whole time because we, you
15:28know, RJ, he never stops charging like the Energizer Bunny.
15:32There he is out there, continue to go in.
15:38Savace, the veteran out of Georgia.
15:41Inside right here.
15:42Got him.
15:43There's the pass for the Florida man.
15:48So continuing to impress in the Premier 450 Division, Henshire.
15:54That'll be seventh with Roxton ahead.
15:57I mean, think about this with RJ.
15:59I mean, how banged up his wrist was, wasn't sure if he was going to continue through Philly.
16:05They have a red flag.
16:06He comes out, gets the whole shot, changes the whole scenario, almost wins the championship
16:13and then comes out on the 450.
16:15Wasn't 100 percent and had his riding incredible.
16:19Yes, he is.
16:23Yeah, and as Will said, this is just preparation for next year, first full season on the 450.
16:30He could be a player.
16:32I think that the 450, James, you and I have talked about this for RJ.
16:37I think it suits his style.
16:40He doesn't have to ride the bike as hard as he did the 250.
16:44And so, like, his chances of going down because of that isn't as high, you know, because it fits his style a little bit better.
16:55And I like that for RJ.
16:57Yeah, no, I agree.
16:58We saw in the motocross season, the rough of the track got RJ was really good.
17:04You go to this race, it's brutal out there.
17:06These guys are struggling.
17:06But RJ is one of the best at being comfortable, being uncomfortable, as Hunter Lawrence looks like he got a little whiskey thrown,
17:13almost ran off the racetrack right there.
17:15Nice save, Bob, and Chase is starting to keep that gap closed.
17:20Yeah, he is.
17:21One little slip up from ET3, and Hunter's going to be right there.
17:26But, again, Hunter might be content with where he's at, looking at big picture here, going into Vegas,
17:33giving him a shot at the championship, just like last year.
17:37There's the points right there, RC.
17:38Boom.
17:38He needs six points down, and you gain nine if you win the race in triple points next week,
17:43even if Jet Lawrence finishes second.
17:45If I'm Hunter, and it's the last moto next weekend in Vegas, and my brother is in front of me,
17:57I am not tying with him and losing the championship.
18:00I might have to sweep the leg.
18:01Hey, I asked Jet during the interview, I don't know if we caught him, but I asked him,
18:06I was like, what if you get in that scenario where your brother is the one that you have to beat to win the bunny
18:13and win that championship, would you take him out?
18:16And he said, I don't know, but he said, Hunter probably would.
18:22We're going to find that little brother-owned brother crime next week in Vegas.
18:25The two Australians are going to duke it out just like they did last year.
18:30It was tied in points last year.
18:32Jet won the world title, and the $1 million, the tiebreaker, which was more wins.
18:37He had two.
18:38Hunter had one.
18:40Same scenario this year.
18:41They're both looking at a win apiece going into the finale if it ends like this.
18:45What a testament to that factory Honda HRC team.
18:49I mean, it's not just the 450 bikes that are working well.
18:53It's the 250 as well.
18:55I mean, look at Joe, how well he's doing.
18:57And it just seems like the energy and the vibe over there at that race team is at an all-time high.
19:04All boats rowing in the same direction.
19:07Look at that stat there on the lower left.
19:10Honda has won every 450 race in the playoff format so far.
19:14Chase Sexton won one when he was a Honda rider two years ago.
19:17And the Lawrence has won every one since.
19:20Caveat that with they do have Jet.
19:23It helps.
19:24Yeah.
19:25Speaking of that, Hunter gets overshadowed by Jet because Jet continues to win.
19:31But how many second places has he had in these championships?
19:34I mean, take out Jet Lawrence.
19:36Hunter might be a four-time champion at this.
19:38He would have won this title in his rookie year and possibly have another shot at winning it again.
19:43So, yeah, a lot of different scenarios.
19:45But this guy is not just Jet Lawrence's brother.
19:48He's here and he can win this title.
19:51I wouldn't be shocked at all if it's straight up.
19:54He beats his brother next weekend.
19:55And you even said in qualifying, James, that you thought there were some things about Hunter's riding style that would really work.
20:00Maybe even better than Jet's on this track.
20:02Yeah.
20:02Hunter likes to sit down a little bit more than his brother.
20:04They both stand up a lot compared to, you know, most of these guys.
20:08But I think when the track gets slippery, it gets, you know, rough, Hunter, because he likes to sit down, he's able to put more traction on that tire, which allows him to just look more comfortable.
20:18We've seen it happen outdoors.
20:20At the end of the day, number one's out front.
20:24Rockson has caught Webb again.
20:27It's close early in the race.
20:29And this will be a battle for fifth.
20:31And these two have had some unbelievable duels in these stadiums and Monster Energy Supercross through the years.
20:37That is McElrath going a lap down as Jet Lawrence has a lap and a half to go.
20:41Yeah, that's Eli.
20:42Wait a minute, Eli Tomek is right there.
20:45He has caught Jet Lawrence.
20:46What has happened?
20:47I don't know if Jet knows that that's him.
20:48He's looking back.
20:50There he is.
20:51Lap traffic everywhere.
20:52I think he was playing it too cool in the lappers.
20:58Yeah, he must have got caught up in that rhythm section for him to...
21:02Watch this.
21:02He's going to turn it loose right here.
21:04Getting around Guillaume, the veteran out of Switzerland.
21:07This could be all the difference.
21:08You could see it, the tone and the body language on his motorcycle.
21:12He is going for it.
21:14Listen to this.
21:18And the crowd reacts because they know.
21:20Tomek has him in sight.
21:22One to go.
21:26Tomek will win the overall if he wins the moto.
21:29Jet loses the rear coming out of that corner.
21:32And Hunter is right there also.
21:34Yeah, speaking...
21:35Listen to this crowd.
21:38Now Hunter attacking Tomek.
21:43Last lap battle between the three.
21:47What has happened to Jet Lawrence?
21:49Yeah, I actually think what Hunter's doing is helping Jet Lawrence
21:53because he's keeping Eli focused behind him.
21:56Because Hunter knows if he passes his brother, he's going to lose this overall.
21:58You've got to keep the pressure on Eli to keep him focusing.
22:02Woo!
22:02Working on the lap traffic.
22:04Mitchell Harrison, split lane.
22:06Look at Jet playing defense, jumping to the inside right there.
22:10That was a smart move.
22:12Eli following suit.
22:13Last time around, they were both faster than Jet.
22:17Hunter and Eli.
22:19That was a nice double right there.
22:21That's going to give him the gap he needs.
22:23Two turns to go.
22:26Jet almost passed Tomek in the last turn of the first race.
22:29Tomek's not quite close enough to get it this time.
22:32Checkered flag in sight.
22:36Oh, Hunter going after Tomek.
22:38Jet Lawrence wins the moto.
22:40Hunter Lawrence goes 1-3 for the overall.
22:44And he has won round two for the third straight year.
22:48To keep the championship in play going to the finale.
22:51This is Webb holding off rocks into the line for fourth.
22:55What happened to Chase Sexton?
22:57Wait a minute.
22:57They were battling for fifth.
22:59And instead, Chase Sexton is behind them.
23:05These last two laps.
23:08That was an exciting last two laps.
23:11I wasn't anticipating that.
23:13I just caught Sexton going across the line.
23:15Dirt on his jersey and way back in 10th.
