Sushila Karki has become Nepal's first female prime minister after she was sworn in as the interim leader on Friday night. Karki was selected as the preferred leader by young protesters, mostly students, who took to the streets against the previous government. Deadly clashes between protesters and riot police last week left 51 people dead and over 1,000 injured.
