00:00The 2005 Ashes is generally regarded as the most exciting test series there's ever been
00:06and this video and podcast series is going to look back at those epic Ashes test matches through the
00:11eyes of the protagonists and also featuring some of the great moments and of course it all started
00:16here at the home of cricket.
00:17I remember getting out and then I think my first words in the dressing room was I've waited seven years for the hat.
00:33And my first step was straight on the ball and down I went.
00:36I carted off to hospital and scans and everything else.
00:40I came back in time that it was announced over the PA system that I was out of the test for injury.
00:45A massive cheer went up around the ground, probably the biggest cheer I've got in the UK.
00:50Even the last ball of a day's play.
00:52Oh!
00:53Oh!
00:54How about that?
00:56Absolutely brilliant from Shane Warne.
01:01Warnie having been all over me like a rash that I had to show that I had stomach for the fight and
01:06so I plucked up the courage, took a deep breath and said,
01:09come on Gilo, he's really struggling against you here.
01:12Warnie just looked at me, these two eyes looked at me and went mate,
01:15there is only one guy struggling around here, it's you, you fucking shit.
01:20Warnie round down the wicket, hit the ball miles over, long on for six.
01:26Six, what a shot.
01:33Oh, Stephen Hermeson with a slower ball.
01:36We thought the game was done and duster, we thought Warnie had chipped one in the air in the morning straight away.
01:45That was cool to start with, but then it starts to get to foot and I think, we're going to lose this.
01:50And then I told him, we have to win.
01:53We don't beat him on this occasion, he's probably going to be 5-0.
01:56Thankfully, Big Steve produces a delivery.
02:00I have no idea why I jumped on Freddie Flint. I have no idea why I pulled his ears.
02:11You just do these stupid things when you kind of come to the end of what was near on four days of great cricket.
02:19You know, you walk through the dining area at the oval there.
02:32We walk through and there's Freddie.
02:34He's sitting in a pair of boxer shorts, a singlet on with all these tats.
02:39And we're walking through like, this is the ashes and you know, this is, we're all up and we're all serious listening.
02:44All right, lads, good to see you boys. And he's sort of joking and laughing, drinking his coke and he's like, oh, how are you going?
02:51Like we're having a party with him. And then he came out that next morning and bowled us out.
02:55And he took the game back and then till Peterson, that innings of Peterson, right?
02:59Gone for it, six, going all the way.
03:03There it is.
03:03England have regained the ashes.
03:14England are here.
03:27England have regained the ashes.
03:29England have regainedck, you know, the velvet water.
03:33You know, it's over the line that the энергia has regained someone else's name because dad would die in need
03:38it alone.
03:39He don't that many things anymore.
03:41We read that and that!
