00:00In my speciality hospital, HOSA robot was introduced for the first time in South Asia.
00:09The robot was launched with a Skywalker Microport medial pivot knee.
00:19The main important thing is that we used this particular implant.
00:26It is called as a medial pivot knee.
00:30We used to behave as a normal knee.
00:34In my previous robot, we used to make a normal joint movement.
00:45It is called as a forgotten knee implant.
00:5598% of patients used a medial pivot knee.
01:01It is called as a forgotten knee.
01:06I am very happy to introduce the Skywalker medial pivot robotic knee.
01:13The Skywalker robot, the HOSA robot is Skywalker.
01:22And the company name is the Microport International, which is the owner of the Skywalker robot.
01:31They manufacture the Skywalker robot.
01:33Then the patient became a new robot.
01:36That's right.
01:37That's right.
01:38Now, the main important thing is that we use this particular implant as a Skywalker implant.
01:46It is called as a ball and socket on the inside of the knee.
01:52And outside of the knee, there is a movement.
01:55So, the normal knee, when there is a movement, there is a rotation element.
02:01This particular implant is used as a Skywalker robot.
02:05It is called as a normal knee.
02:08The first time in South Asia, here in Mango.
02:13The cost is the same?
02:14It is the same cost as the regular robotic surgery.
02:19At least there are patients who have made it.
02:21Almost there are patients who have made it.
02:23And everyone is doing very happy.
02:25Primarily, in India, we have launched the Evolution Medial Pivot Knee and Skywalker robotic system this year.
02:33And in the last four to five decades, there has been knee replacement surgery across the world, including in India.
02:41In fact, in India, we today do almost four to five lakh knee replacement procedures every year.
02:47And still, 20 to 30% of the patients who go for a total knee replacement procedure complain of pain.
02:54They complain of exhaustion.
02:56They cannot go for long walks because they feel exhaustion and tired after long walks.
03:00When they are climbing up and down the stairs, they are afraid that their knee is going to give away.
03:06They are not feeling stable.
03:07And so, complaints around that, along with swelling, pain, were constantly there.
03:12They would not get full range of motion.
03:14They would not be able to assume daily activities.
03:16So, 20 to 30% of patients with total knee replacement constantly had these problems.
03:21In 1997-98, MicroPort launched something called the Medial Pivot Knee, the True Medial Pivot Knee, which is a patented technology that is supposed to bring in almost a natural knee function.
03:32With that natural knee function, the design is such that the entire weight distribution and the kinematics allows the patient to feel that this is almost natural.
03:41So, your quadriceps do not get tired.
03:44When you are going for long walks, you don't feel exhausted because the entire strain on the muscle is much stressor.
03:50You are able to climb up and down the stairs without any worry of giving away because it is supremely stable.
03:56And most importantly, because of all of this, there is hardly any pain.
04:00There is hardly any swelling.
04:01Over the last almost 25-27 years that the Medial Pivot Knee has been there in the market because of MicroPort, we have actually experienced 95% patient satisfaction in almost 100 countries.
04:14We have introduced this in India just this year.
04:17The problem was in the last many years in India, we haven't had a new design.
04:21Especially after 2017, when the government of India capped the prices for knee replacement, new designs stopped coming more or less.
04:29But we have launched this product now and we have brought it to the country and we have launched it in select markets.
04:34So, Evolution Medial Pivot Knee is a true Medial Pivot Knee and that is already making a big difference in all our patients.
04:40Now, already with Evolution, we had 95% patient satisfaction, 98.8% survivorship at 17 years and almost 80% forgotten joint score.
04:48How can we elevate that even better and more?
04:51We brought in Skywalker robotic system.
04:53We are supposed to be precision driven.
04:55And this robotic system ensures that what the surgeon is planning, they execute it with sub-millimeter precision, which means anything less than one millimeter.
05:03So, in fact, the deviation is not more than a 0.1, 0.2 millimeter at all.
05:07And this is to ensure that there is a longer result, a better feeling knee and more and more patients are happy.
05:13So, almost 95 to 100% of the patients are satisfied with the knee.
05:16And that is about Skywalker and Evolution as a couple.
05:19Because the robot is paired with this Evolution Medial Pivot Knee they are all about.
05:22Which is installed for the first time in South Asia?
05:25It's the first time in South Asia.
05:26So, Microport Orthopedics is a US company.
05:29It's a US headquartered company.
05:30The Skywalker robot is a product of US and China coming together to develop this incredible technology.
05:36The robot already is there in around 25 markets.
05:39But in India, in Asia, it was not there.
05:41It was only there in China.
05:42But outside of China, this is the first time that Skywalker has been launched and installed.
05:47It's the first time that we've also brought Evolution in South Asia.
05:50So, basically that's where we are.
05:52And Bangalore is one of those cities which we've always known.
05:55It's very academic.
05:56Patients out here have had complaints after knee replacement procedure.
05:59Yennepoia is a beautiful institution.
06:02They have a great academic background.
06:03The medical college is there.
06:05The specialty hospital is incredible.
06:07And Dr. Deepakrai is very technology-driven.
06:09He's a very technical person.
06:10He's a very knowledge-oriented person.
06:11So, for us, this was the best platform, the best institution to partner with and to bring this technology to India.
06:17And so, Bangalore is the first city in South Asia.
06:19And Yennepoia is the first hospital to bring in Skywalker.
06:22My name is Dr. Mukesh Parmar.
06:24I am the Senior General Manager and Director for Microport Orthopedics for South Asia.
06:28calibrated?
06:29Interesting.
06:30And speaking again, I encourage you to share with me.
06:31How good are our라고요 from South Asia?
06:32Thank you so much.
06:33Any questions?
06:34For these today's questions?
06:35Thank you very much.
06:36Thank you very much.
06:37You make a great question.
06:38So, again, I'd say thank you for the full bate and a observation eyelids happen.
06:41I'd like to see a topic.
06:42I'd like to see a discussion as much as I've ever wondered by something.
06:43Well, I hope so most places.
06:45I bet what we got round amanas eyesCómo.
06:46Hold on and on some of these ideas.
06:47You know how's done 11 years, again?
06:49Let's thank you.
06:50And the very news overall are open time.
06:52I must have a touch on your own catsup theory every year.
