00:00Boyd on the field is an incomplete pass.
00:05I love replay assist.
00:07It's a 12-37 please.
00:0912-37.
00:12Clear and obvious.
00:14So replay assist does it.
00:16Don't have to challenge.
00:17And now the challenge reveals fans for third and ten.
00:30Buffalo bringing forward, leaving a spy on Jackson, who's in trouble.
00:39Gets away.
00:41Escaping.
00:41Got a lot of room.
00:42There he goes.
00:44First down, Lamar, much more.
00:46Across midfield to the 46-yard line.
00:51Takes a heavy hit by 19 yards.
00:55I mean, I honestly don't know what to do with this guy.
00:58That is a sack for every quarterback almost that's ever played that position.
01:04And not only is it not a sack, it turns into one of the most spectacular plays of the weekend.
01:10He does it all the time, though.
01:12I mean, you want to know why these two guys are the 1-2 and the MVP voting?
01:17There you go.
01:19Gain in 19, probably right about 60 on that play.
01:23And here goes Henry.
01:24Quiet in the second half.
01:26Not anymore.
01:27Henry, another touchdown.
01:28He only had six yards in the second half after the huge first half, but now he's got 175 on the night and two touchdowns.
01:41Here's the problem.
01:47Taylor wraps about a 4'7 guy when he's running, and Derrick Henry is faster, bigger, and he just simply pulls away from the Buffalo Bills' safety.
01:58That was part of the reason they tried to get Cole Bishop in to add a little element of speed, but the play by Lamar Jackson was the backbreaker.
02:08It just took all the spirit out of the Bills' defense, and right on top of it, they go for another fifth.
02:14First doink of the season, Chris, that one, no good for Luke.
02:21That one, no good for Luke.
02:21Won't be the last.
02:23It will not be.
02:24It keeps it a 15-point game on a night of big plays.
02:29It's yet another one for Derrick Henry.
02:32Two more touchdowns against Buffalo.
02:41Derrick Henry on the night up to 175 yards, so that is game seven over 150 past age 30.
02:48And that's Derrick Henry and Walter Payton.
02:52That's it.
02:54Sweetness in the hall, and King Henry will be there, too.
02:59Joining a lot of football greatness with some health and continued success this year.
03:06Brennan Codrington's return shy of a 30-yard line at the 28.
03:10Buffalo will take over there, down 15 with 11.35 to go.
03:14You know, and this isn't rare what Baltimore is doing.
03:17And they had 29 run plays of 20-plus yards a season ago, and we just had back-to-back.
03:23I mean, they were backed up in their own zone, right?
03:25Yes.
03:26And the Marro's running the wrong way.
03:28All of a sudden, he's out at the 50, and then, you know, Derrick did the rest.
03:32And that is out of those two numbers you just saw there.
03:34That's out of 42 total plays.
03:37The Ravens are averaging almost 10 yards per play here tonight.
03:42Allen's got to go to work here with the Bills.
03:44They're doing it on the sideline with Keon Coleman.
03:48Gets up very close to the first down, just shy of it, at the 37-yard line.
03:53Baltimore the first to serve up a 40-burger this year, scoring 40 points.
03:58But, Chrissy, in the last year, their last four regular season games was 35, 34, 31, 35.
04:05They're just picking up where they left off.
04:06I mean, it is, it's magical to watch these two offenses.
04:10And the hard part is, I've seen both coordinators with the Rolodex out and just spinning up defenses
04:17and trying everything possible.
04:20Sometimes, the other guys are just better.
04:2343, for the four-man rush.
04:30Rollins throws, that intercepted.
04:32Terrific job going down to get it.
04:36And yes, it is ruled a pick for Kilibe Awuzie.
04:40Ruled on the field an interception.
04:42Let's check the replay, though.
04:43I don't think so.
04:53Automatically reviewed, as it was called an INT on the field.
05:00When he's laying on top of the ball there.
05:02After the review, the ruling on the field is an incomplete pass.
05:07It's just too much of the ball.
05:09So, even though Terry, it's in contact with his body, he doesn't have control of it when
05:14it's against the ground, does he?
05:16No, Mike.
05:16He never got control before the ball hit the ground.
05:19Absolutely incomplete.
05:21Good play.
05:22Chris, that could be a big part in pickup of this defense this year with the veteran Awuzie.
05:26I mean, if those two guys stay healthy, Jairie Alexander and Awuzie stay healthy and can play
05:32all the way through the season, absolutely.
05:35Nate Wiggins and Marlon Humphrey on the corners as well.
05:39So, incompletion, second and ten.
05:42Allen escaping.
05:43He's got some room to run here.
05:45And Josh Allen to the slide down.
05:48The mark of the slide actually has him short of the first down.
05:52Now, he knows it, too.
05:56This will be third and one.
05:57Inside game, Ray Davis has to bounce with his flags down.
06:11And if Allen, by sliding early, didn't pick up the first down, and now Buffalo's going to
06:16be backed up to third and long.
06:17Let's go back and look at the slide.
06:27It is where the ball is when the slide begins.
06:31Nope.
06:31Let's look at that.
06:32He's going forward, actually, here on this.
06:33Let's see.
06:34Terry, that body part comes down right at the line, doesn't it?
06:41Exactly.
06:42It's where the—it's the front of the football when the body part touches the ground, and
06:46it's clearly beyond the line, right there.
06:49It's clearly beyond the line.
06:50This should have been a first down.
06:51Missed the spot by about a yard on the field.
06:53Now, we have another—
06:53Should have been challenged.
06:54Sorry, Terry.
06:55We had another flag thrown down here after the penalty was being walked off.
06:58Folding, offense number 73, 10-yard penalty from the previous spot, third down.
07:05Okay, they were just moving the flag back to where the penalty occurred.
07:09So Deion Dawkins called for the hold to take it back to third down.
07:15Terry, how tough is that play for the officials to spot the ball as it's going 10 yards downfield
07:21after the Allen run?
07:23It is difficult, Mike.
07:24He's following the play, but they've—you know, they've done this for years.
07:29They should be able to get a little bit better than—than a yard away from him.
07:33Right.
07:36So now it's third and 11.
07:39And Allen in trouble, and he goes down.
07:43And is sacked for the first time.
07:48Namde Matabike, who had 8 1⁄2 last year—6 1⁄2, I should say—gets his first of this year in
07:54Bills will punt.
07:55Yeah, he had 13 sacks back in 23 and really was a big sensation in the league.
08:01And you can see that kind of movement, skill, and strength to go along with it.
08:05When those defensive tackles come from inside out, bang into the tackle, and bounce right
08:11to the quarterback, very difficult to stop.
08:16Robbins' kick.
08:17Baltimore yelling at everybody, get away on that short punt by Robbins.
08:23And Buffalo will take over at—or Baltimore should say, take over at the 35.
08:28Buffalo gets nothing out of a drive.
08:30They had to have it.
08:31And they're down 15.
08:37Chris, we've seen this movie before.
08:39We saw the week four Derrick Henry dominance against the Bills, and a similar act, even more
08:45explosive runs in this one.
08:4714 carries 175 yards.
08:50It's insane.
08:52Three 30-plus-yard runs in this game for the first time in his terrific career.
08:59Adding to it here.
09:00He's built for it, that's for sure.
09:02I can remember the first time I saw some of these workouts that Derrick Henry was doing,
09:07and you just go, oh, that's why he's going to the Hall of Fame, and I never did.
09:11I mean, look at the work alone he does going up this hill.
09:15He's not just going up.
09:16He's making cuts back and forth, dragging whatever that is behind him, and finally making it up
09:22to the hill.
09:22So running past Raph is a piece of cake.
09:26It's not on a hill.
09:28I don't know how you could be more impressed with two football players.
09:32It's a combination of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, almost not finished.
09:37Here, stop for a loss to, as Daquan Jones is there to bring up third and long.
09:43When we asked him yesterday about his workouts, anything changing now that you're 31 years old?
09:49Is it no?
09:49Didn't change.
09:51No reason to.
09:52He said, if anything, I added more of the hills.
09:55From a nutrition standpoint, there's some intermittent fasting that he does along the way.
10:00Whatever he's doing, shame on us for not following.
10:03We're going to start it next week, man.
10:05I'm telling you.
10:05You sure?
10:05Yeah.
10:06We're going to.
10:06Okay.
10:07What time?
10:08Jim in Minnesota on Friday?
10:09Ask for less.
10:10Okay.
10:12Third night.
10:14Flag down here, and they'll kill the play.
10:19It'll be third and 13.
10:22I mean, it's almost, though.
10:23I won't.
10:24False start.
10:26Offense number 16.
10:28Five-yard penalty.
10:30Third down.
10:32I just wonder how many teams in the AFC are sitting at home watching this game going,
10:37uh-oh.
10:38You know?
10:39I mean, seriously, this is a pretty dominant performance against one of the top teams in
10:45the league in their place.
10:47And you could just feel the frustration of the Ravens when we were talking to them about
10:55this playoff game a season ago.
10:58You know?
10:59It was just, they ate at them for the entire offseason.
11:03And they're paying it back now.
11:04Third and 13.
11:07Another flag down.
11:09And Zay Flowers is down shot.
11:12First down to check the marker on the far side.
11:15Six penalties, Baltimore.
11:26Four on Buffalo.
11:32One area the Ravens need to cut down on.
11:34Legal motions.
11:35Offense number four.
11:38That penalty is declined.
11:40Fourth down.
11:41So it's on Flowers?
11:43Yeah.
11:43They let you get away with a little bit, but not a lot of bit.
11:46And you're going to see Flowers turn up towards the line of scrimmage.
11:50Get a little jump on the route.
11:53Clearly a foul.
11:54So the Bills do get the ball back with half the quarter left at a two-score game.
12:00So still alive, but obviously needs some special stuff to happen.
12:05A good number of folks have left.
12:08Here at Highmark Stadium.
12:13See if Brandon Codrington can give the Bills good field position as Jordan Stout.
12:18Kicking here for the second time.
12:24He's going to get to the line.
12:27He's going to get to the line.
12:29Codrington going over for a look.
12:33Thought about it a lap.
12:35Should have grabbed it.
12:36Ravens down it at the one.
12:40Simpson, oh, a touchback.
12:42He did get to the line.
12:46If you try to down the ball and slide into the line, that is a touchback.
12:51His number 32 slid into the end zone and touched the white line.
12:58Therefore, it's a touchback.
12:59It's a really poor play.
13:02I mean, at that point, you just have to knock it back off the line.
13:05When you allow yourself to slide into the end zone, any part of your body or that ball touches the line, that's it.
13:13And just one glove, one finger, one glove getting there.
13:16And you just don't anticipate how far you're going to slide when you try to dive on that ball.
13:23But you've just got to tap it back.
13:28So, plus 19 yards for the Bills and they start it at the 20.
13:32That was one of those perfect throwing motions right there.
13:46And that is what they can do on the outside for Josh Allen.
13:51Keon Coleman, that is his play right there.
13:54Allen trying to get out of there.
13:59Escapes.
14:01And he's just a fake of the pump to get a whole bunch of yards on the ground.
14:06And get close to another first down.
14:08You'll mark him out at the 47-yard line.
14:11Let's go back and watch Josh Allen throwing to his left to Keon Coleman.
14:15This was a throw he really struggled with when he was coming out of college.
14:20Anything off to his left, he trained a long time to really open up his hips and get better at that.
14:26But the continued improvement of what he has done with his fundamentals of throwing the ball.
14:31He was not that accurate a guy when he was in college.
14:38Throwing in the middle here.
14:40Joshua Palmer.
14:41A three-yard line.
14:44And a first down for Buffalo.
14:456-0-5 to go.
14:46Down 15.
14:48And all three timeouts.
14:49So, still alive here if they can get it in the end zone.
14:52Go on, go on!
14:542-0, 2-0.
14:561-8, 1-6!
14:59One knockdown.
15:02On the inside.
15:07I mean, they finally, the best part about that incomplete pass,
15:10it allowed those exhausted defensive linemen to get off the field.
15:14I mean, they were barely able to create a push.
15:18And in part because of that, they were able to get their hands up and knock one down.
15:21But as soon as that ball was knocked down, they all turned and ran from the sideline.
15:26Full-fledged line change.
15:27Yes, they did.
15:28And the Sabre season doesn't start for about a month.
15:32They were coming over the boards.
15:34Second and ten.
15:39Now unprotected.
15:40Inside throw.
15:43Seven-yard line with Keon Coleman.
15:45So, let's catch number five tonight for the second-year man.
15:49The 29 all of last season.
15:54Still plenty of time here, and they just have to make a play.
15:58They need to score something right here and make one defensive stop before this game's over.
16:03But that has seemed to be almost impossible.
16:05Well, left.
16:06You got zero.
16:09Nothing.
16:10Nothing.
16:11I got you.
16:11That's the shadow.
16:12Unhance on it.
16:13Alert it.
16:14Alert it.
16:14Zero.
16:14Zero.
16:15Zero.
16:15Come here.
16:18Overhauser.
16:22After all that, Allen to the sideline.
16:24Incomplete for the flag.
16:27Right back to Coleman in front of Nate Wiggins.
16:30That six-foot-three frame of Coleman factor on this drive.
16:34That's interference.
16:39Defense number two.
16:41Ball.
16:41He plays the spot of the foul.
16:43Automatic.
16:44First down.
16:45And Nate Wiggins runs a 4-2-8.
16:48He does not have to worry about Coleman going by him, which is why you're seeing him almost
16:53in a fist fight with every step of the way going down the field.
16:58He's not worried about the deep ball.
16:59He's worried about that one thrown behind him, that back shoulder.
17:03What is that?
17:05Alert it.
17:07Alert it.
17:07Run out.
17:08Run out.
17:08Run out.
17:10Run out.
17:11Run out.
17:11What's that?
17:1229-yard line.
17:14Final coming.
17:15It's a Kincaid.
17:17He's got a first down inside the 20.
17:20Clock stopped at 4-59.
17:23It's just a different offense.
17:24It really is when Dalton Kincaid's in the lineup and healthy.
17:28It was a little hard to watch this offense without him.
17:32He could play, but he wasn't the same guy that he was for the most part early in his career
17:38and early in that season.
17:39I think every quarterback and every receiver will agree the hardest thing that they do
18:04is the hesitate and go and trying to time that throw up because it's different.
18:11You know, everybody's used to flying off the ball and getting down the field,
18:16but when you're in the red zone to go hesitate and go,
18:19it's like an opportunity to throw a go route when you didn't have the space for it.
18:23It's just the timing of it is so hard.
18:25Run out.
18:26Run out.
18:27Run out.
18:27Run out.
18:28Run out.
18:29Run out.
18:316 and 10.
18:33And Allen lofting.
18:35And Johnson couldn't bring it in.
18:38Ty Johnson with Teddy Buchanan, that rookie, the fourth round pick,
18:42out of Cal, in coverage.
18:45And you cannot throw a football better than that.
18:48It is absolutely perfect.
18:51Pretty good coverage to his best receiving back coming out of the backfield.
18:55And Ty Johnson's going to catch that almost every time.
19:00That is a huge miss.
19:04Going to bring up third and 10, obviously, given the scoreboard situation.
19:08Four down territory for Buffalo.
19:10Run out.
19:10Run out.
19:10Run out.
19:11Run out.
19:12We're good.
19:12We're good.
19:13We're good.
19:14We're good.
19:17Aben's bringing four.
19:18It's thrown underneath.
19:20Palmer spinning.
19:21Very close to the first down.
19:23Keep the clock moving and rule him, let's see, two yards shy.
19:31It's fourth and long one, short two.
19:34I think you're going to see a spread out formation.
19:37And depending on what they do on the back end coverage,
19:40you'll either see Josh run the football here,
19:43or if they're just one-on-one, he'll pick and choose who he likes.
19:48Clock down to 4-12.
19:53The Bills got to have this fourth and two.
20:00Trying to spread out.
20:03Two Ravens pursuing, and Allen throws.
20:06Deflected and caught by Coleman on the tip for six.
20:10And the Bills remain alive.
20:20You've never seen a football game like this before?
20:22Not week one.
20:23I mean, you feel like you're in an arcade or something,
20:25or playing Madden.
20:26I don't even know how to describe this stuff.
20:28Ball's getting tipped and flying around.
20:31Quarterbacks running around like crazy people.
20:33Nobody can catch them.
20:35Derrick Henry running up and down the field.
20:39And so this time down nine, Buffalo will go for one
20:43and try to make it a one-score game with three timeouts.
20:47Trying to do what's been really hard, stop the Ravens.
20:50Frader gets the extra point,
20:53and we have a one-score game here in Orchard Park.
20:59The Bills had to have Keon Coleman come up with a big year.
21:03He is the guy they drafted a season ago.
21:06He's just going to keep competing here.
21:09Gets to the back line, stays focused on it.
21:11The ball's tipped around, and he makes a diving catch.
21:16And Sean McDermott is telling us about Coleman
21:18when we visited with him on Friday.
21:21Maybe the guy who's grown the most on the team.
21:23He really had a plan when he left here.
21:25He was not up here during the offseason,
21:27but they kept getting videos of the work he was doing.
21:30And when he got here, once the minicamp started,
21:33he came back with ability, maturity,
21:35and he comes up with a touchdown here
21:38to make it a one-possession game.
21:43I wonder if John Harbaugh is sitting over there going,
21:45what do we have to do to put these guys away?
21:49I'm so impressed with the Buffalo Bills.
21:51It just has never felt like they were really in the game,
21:55and yet they're hanging around,
21:57and it's an eight-point game right now.
22:00Anything can happen from here.
22:08Ali and Hill have been kicking to Ali most of the night.
22:12Takes it from the four.
22:15Runs into a wall.
22:16Brought down Shai.
22:17The 30-yard line by Dorian Williams.
22:21The guys on the top of the marquee
22:23have been as advertised.
22:26Better.
22:27Better?
22:28Better.
22:29All right, go ahead.
22:29You got it.
22:30I mean, you know,
22:32you take either one of these guys off of these two teams,
22:36and, I mean, basically,
22:38they've changed the face of the game.
22:40This is not a drop-back, throw-from-the-pocket league anymore
22:45with these two guys leading the way.
22:46And Lamar's going to take it in his own hands
22:49and slide in-bounds to keep that clock turning
22:52and immediately get a first down of the 41-yard line.
22:58I mean, I want you to watch the edge player here.
23:01How many different things are presented in front of him?
23:05I mean, it simply is one guy is unblocked,
23:09and he has people going in three different directions,
23:12and there's just no way that you can keep up with what that is.
23:15Zaire Mitchell-Payden, first-year player, I should say,
23:24is the man protecting, and Henry lost the football!
23:28And the Bills are down there!
23:31And they have it!
23:32He's having an unbelievable night,
23:39but stopped behind the line,
23:40the ball punched out,
23:42and Terrell Bernard comes up with it!
23:47Guess who?
23:48Ed Oliver, again,
23:51going to end up making the play here,
23:53punching that thing out,
23:54and now 25,000 Bills fans
23:57are trying to get back in the stadium!
24:04He's had some kind of night, Oliver!
24:06Oh, my goodness!
24:07There's so many guys who've had a great night tonight!
24:11Ed Oliver's made the Pro Bowl the night!
24:13So the Bills will take over at the 30-yard line.
24:19They've already scored 13 points in this fourth quarter.
24:24And a chance with a touch and a two to tie the game.
24:27Allen, taking a shot down the field!
24:43It's hauled in!
24:44Kicked the pitch!
24:45And that's the third tight end!
24:46Jackson Hawes!
24:48The rookie out of Georgia Tech,
24:50his first ever catch!
24:52Brings it to the one!
24:53Bills get right on the ball!
25:02Allen!
25:03His time tries to go right!
25:06He's hurrying and is stopped!
25:10Jackson Hawes, fifth-round pick out of Georgia Tech.
25:13First five years, he was at Yale.
25:15He's the blocker.
25:16He's the blocker in this offense
25:18and makes the play on a second bounce.
25:23Mike, this game is nuts.
25:26This thing goes to overtime.
25:27It'll be one of the all-time all-timers.
25:33Closing in on the two-minute warning.
25:35Second and goal.
25:40Yeah.
25:41Cook.
25:42Left side.
25:42Fighting sleeve.
25:43Goal line!
25:45Rolled short.
25:47Rolled short, and we've got the two-minute warning.
25:49Oh, my goodness.
25:50So, it'll be third and goal from about a foot away.
25:57Remember, Buffalo needs a two-point conversion
25:59along with a touchdown to tie the game
26:02after the game's first turnover
26:06in stunning fashion.
26:08I mean, the Buffalo Bills.
26:11We talked about the Detroit Lions.
26:14We've talked about grit.
26:15We've talked about hard-nosed football players.
26:18The fact that the Bills have just hung in there in this game, right?
26:24It's all you could do.
26:25I mean, everything that Lamar and Derek was doing on the offensive side,
26:31there was no reason to believe.
26:33And then you hang in long enough, you get that one break finally,
26:37and here you are on the doorstep of tying this thing up.
26:41And you've got a bunch of what-ifs.
26:43The Bills took a point off the board, went for two,
26:46and Keon Coleman had a foot out of bounds and was the first to touch.
26:50They lost that.
26:51Tyler Loop doinked an extra point off the upright.
26:55So we've had both ways, points that you thought were going to happen, not happen.
27:01So we sit on eight points here at the two-minute warning.
27:06Buffalo, a couple of shots to get a touchdown.
27:08Everybody does the same thing on these quarterback sneaks.
27:35They try to submarine underneath, and that time, Josh Allen right over the top.
27:42That's a pretty cool wrinkle to that, right?
27:44With everybody going down there.
27:45They've got some play that they have practiced almost every day in training camp,
27:51and we're about to see it.
27:53The most important play, the most practiced play that the Bills have in their arsenal.
28:00Here it is.
28:01The throw to Coleman is broken up by Nate Wiggins.
28:05Game certainly not over.
28:09Three timeouts, minute 58, multiple options on what Buffalo wants to do.
28:14But Wiggins keeps them from tying it.
28:17Remember we were talking about the battle they had down the field?
28:20Look at that.
28:21It wasn't even started, and Wiggins is looking back in the backfield.
28:26He knew the ball was coming.
28:28Those one-on-one opportunities, and he was there to make a huge play.
28:34It's not over.
28:35This is plenty of time, plenty of timeouts.
28:38And you were talking about the play you want to get to.
28:42Do you like getting to that play?
28:44I wasn't crazy about where it was thrown.
28:47I know it was a bit of a back shoulder, but you've got a big size advantage right there for Keon Coleman.
28:54And, you know, it was sort of thrown body high, so.
29:00Buffalo 0-4-3 on two-point conversions.
29:02They only tried one last year and converted it at three in this first game.
29:06Now they choose not to go for the declared onside kick here,
29:09and they're going to kick it off with three timeouts.
29:11It works.
29:12Absolutely.
29:201.58 to go.
29:23I think Derrick Henry's going to get a chance to make a bend.
29:27Justice Hill and Ali wait.
29:29He'll be returned again.
29:31It's Ali from the sixth.
29:34Big hit.
29:35Bounces off and stays alive.
29:37Tough running for Keen Ali to keep this going at the 31-yard line,
29:43where Baltimore will take over with 1.51 in all three Buffalo timeouts.
29:49Well, you know, for the Buffalo Bills, what they're going to do now,
29:52they're going to have to stack the line of scrimmage and take away the run
29:56and just hope somebody can make a play if, in fact, they throw the football.
30:02If they stop them with three downs, the Bills can still get the ball back.
30:07With about a minute 27 or so left.
30:15Grabbing the line.
30:17Henry's got it.
30:20Russo over there.
30:21You see McDermott streaking toward the official getting timeouts at 1.45.
30:26So, these multiple conversions as you go through the night and play the game out,
30:32here they are.
30:34These all two-point tries.
30:36Yeah, I think this was Keon Coleman stepping out of the back of the end zone.
30:40That did not count.
30:41Loss of down.
30:42Wiggins again there to make that play.
30:45And then again, Allen on the move.
30:47Throws it to Kyle Hamilton, who almost threw it back for one point for Buffalo
30:52because he threw it back to a teammate, and then the last one a moment ago with Coleman.
30:59Now we're up second and nine coming up.
31:02And there may be folks who left, but those who are here are being heard.
31:08They are one play away from getting the ball back and only needing a field goal
31:32to win this football game.
31:35With a guy who just got here Thursday, Matt Prater.
31:40Crazy.
31:41This would be one of the gutsiest comebacks I think I've ever seen.
31:45Honestly.
31:46I mean, for this team, they've got to be exhausted.
31:49They've been chasing these guys up and down the field.
31:52And now here they are, one play.
31:55They need one play.
31:58Does the ball leave the hands of Lamar Jackson?
32:02I think you've got to throw the ball and try to win this thing right now.
32:08Lamar Jackson has to have it in his hands, but whether he throws it or runs it.
32:15Play clock running down.
32:17Jackson with direct communication to DeAndre Hopkins.
32:20They need to get to the 41.
32:28Flowers in motion.
32:29The Bills bring a blitz.
32:31And the throw is pot, but stuck shy of the first down.
32:35On the tackle by Christian Medford.
32:37Hopkins is down to the 38.
32:39And Buffalo will get the ball back.
32:46Unless they decide to go.
32:47I'm going to say, you've got choices to make everywhere here.
32:52Your defense hasn't exactly been stopping the Buffalo Bills either.
32:56But they're in field goal range if they get stopped here, right?
32:58I got you.
33:01But you also have three timeouts on your side, too.
33:04You do.
33:04You get the ball back.
33:05Yeah.
33:08It is fourth and three.
33:10And it is Brandon Codrington going back.
33:15Jordan Stouten to kick it.
33:17He's got to play the fake first.
33:29Tough time feeling these kicks.
33:31And Stout's done a nice job to keep it out of his hands.
33:34The Bills will get the ball back around the 20.
33:37The whistles you hear.
33:38There's just two gunners going after each other here in blocking.
33:42But that is all cleaned up.
33:43No fouls.
33:44Here comes Josh Allen.
33:45But first, a reminder.
33:47Chevrolet postgame ahead.
33:48Melissa with the stars of the game.
33:50We'll look ahead to next Sunday night in Minnesota.
33:52Coming up right after the game.
33:55So, for a stadium that is seeing its 53rd and final season.
34:00And has seen a lot of magical moments.
34:04This one would be right up there with any other.
34:08The Bills look down and out on this opening night.
34:12They were down 15 a short time ago.
34:15Have rallied.
34:16And now a field goal.
34:17Good win.
34:21Josh Allen starts from the 20.
34:24Underneath.
34:25Brought in for six.
34:26Michael Shakir.
34:28Buffalo, no timeouts.
34:30Matt Prater in this direction.
34:34Warming up.
34:35Made a 53-yarder.
34:36So, thinking about getting it.
34:39Another 40 yards.
34:44Allen swinging sideline.
34:46Brought in by Coleman.
34:49Seventh catch of the night for Keon Coleman.
34:51First down.
34:52Buffalo with a minute to go.
34:55Talking about looking like an MVP right now.
34:58Josh Allen looks in complete control.
35:03Just short drive starting completions to get this thing going.
35:07Plenty of time for him.
35:13Allen gets away from the rush.
35:15He's got some space.
35:16He's going to take off and get out of bounds.
35:19Right around the 38.
35:21Roquan Smith was there hoping to hit him before he got to the sideline.
35:25That used seven seconds.
35:28And it's a good thing that Josh Allen's as big as he is because he continued forward on the play and didn't get knocked backwards.
35:34Which would have ended up stopping the clock.
35:36Receivers are Palmer, Shakir, and Coleman.
35:45He's got movement there.
35:59No running clock.
36:00So, no 10-second runoff.
36:03Mike, what happened that time?
36:05Let the call be made.
36:08Full start.
36:09Offense number 73.
36:11Five-yard penalty.
36:13Suck it down.
36:13They were up there at the line of scrimmage and making the call.
36:17And there was silence.
36:18And then Josh saw something and got excited.
36:21And he said, gold standard.
36:21And his offensive lineman that time, Deion Dawkins, ends up jumping because of the excited nature of the way that Josh Allen made that call.
36:31So, you lose five.
36:32It's back to second and 10.
36:34Hang out.
36:34Hang out.
36:35Hang out.
36:35Hang out.
36:35Hey, alert it.
36:36Alert it.
36:37Come on.
36:37Come on.
36:37Come on.
36:38Come on.
36:38Very good.
36:39Round one.
36:40Over high.
36:41Awesome.
36:41Awesome.
36:42Knocks in motion.
36:43Allen unloading.
36:45Throwing.
36:46That's Carter.
36:47Out of bounds at the 35.
36:49Third field goal range.
36:52Remarkable.
37:00Just absolutely zipped that throw in there.
37:04That was from the first quarter when he came out with that almost angry look.
37:09There's only a handful of quarterbacks in this league that could have made that throw right there.
37:13And now Baltimore has to start thinking about what they're going to do with their timeouts.
37:19They get it back to try to respond if Buffalo can score.
37:23And now Baltimore brings some pressure.
37:28Baltimore brings some pressure.
37:29And Allen throws.
37:31It's caught.
37:31Under on Colby.
37:33Keon Colby tripped up at the nine yard line.
37:37Timeout Ravens.
37:38i tell you that may not be all bad exactly because if he had scored on that play
37:47it would have given baltimore and lamar jackson an opportunity to get the ball back now you're
37:54going to get into all those discussions now i got you we've got matt brader another kicker
38:00who's not their ordinary kicker but this isn't much of a kick at this point do we even see the
38:06possibility of letting them score from here and i guarantee the buffalo bills are over there saying
38:11even if they do that take a knee on the one yard line
38:15it's hard to shake your head because we're all doing the same of course the bills have had
38:24remarkable comebacks in this stadium you think back to the playoffs and frank reich but the last
38:30win trailing by 15 in the fourth quarter goes all the way back
38:33to a wild one against the jets so first and goal two timeouts for baltimore
38:41and the bill strategy will be interesting to watch do they try to score and then does baltimore let them
38:48i mean i assume they're setting up for a kick
38:52at this point do you want to at the very least get rid of those timeouts
38:57i think you take it down as far as you can yeah absolutely
39:00alan takes it e baltimore takes the timeout they can take another one
39:04in let's say three seconds but then they become powerless to stop the clock after that
39:10and then melissa it would turn to the veteran matt prater
39:12yes i talked to him right before the game during warm-ups he as you mentioned took the red eye to
39:17buffalo from arizona on thursday night he told me he finally feels like himself today after catching up
39:23on sleep we talked about if he knows any of his teammates names yet he said i'm learning and i asked
39:29how he feels kicking here he said since he's played here several times he is very comfortable
39:33he has played three games here in his career so hard to feel comfortable in this stadium but he did
39:39kick it here week one last year against arizona but this is now short stuff for a guy who's
39:45attempted 487 nfl field goals coming into tonight and add two more to that here this evening
39:55they've been working on spencer brown in these timeouts the big right tackle has been cramping
40:00getting a lot of fluid in there as the bills are about to run the 77th play of the night
40:05and it's victory formation
40:08harbaugh takes a final timeout
40:12and i remember buffalo has
40:16no timeouts
40:18so they have to have
40:21the strategy to get their guys out there quickly
40:23if they take a knee here and be set
40:26not for a fire drill field goal but
40:28the closest thing to it
40:35of course a two-score game when it was 40 to 25
40:43teams in it you're one play away and we saw the fumble happen
40:46but even at home it just felt like the bills lost their energy
40:49would you have josh scramble around and throw it away
40:53away but then when he throws it away you're gonna leave baltimore 25 seconds
40:58right no matter how long he scrambles
41:00you're gonna leave baltimore 25 seconds
41:01yeah so you're just gonna run the field goal team out there yeah
41:05which everybody practices but they haven't done it with trader so he takes a knee now
41:07they go out there and that trader will come on
41:09for a game winning field goal
41:1141 year old who's been to the pro bowl a few times
41:18he's made long ones he's made game winners
41:22less than 100 hours in western new york as the clock runs down
41:29prater lines up for a game winning field goal
41:33from 32 yards
41:40and the bills open their final season in this stadium with a stunning comeback win
41:48well I'm not glad that he's able to play football
41:55in this field goal he's made match fall
41:58in this field goal since Gilb Mixon
42:13finally
42:16Any argument on the MVP anymore?
42:38That was incredible.
42:46This place is still going nuts.
42:52Matt Prater doesn't know a bunch of his teammates.
42:56They know him now.
42:58Josh Allen carried this team, kept them alive, and they continue their unbelievable run at home.
43:05They've won 12 in a row.
43:07Lamar Jackson played as good as you can.
43:10He can't believe it.
43:11Derrick Henry, spectacular game, but the fumble changed everything.
43:16And Sean McDermott and the determined, focused Buffalo Bills come away with a win.
43:23Gut-wrenching loss to start the season for John Harbaugh and Matt Prater.
43:30Welcome to Buffalo.
43:32Welcome to hero status in Western New York.
43:35Chevrolet postgame coming up next.
43:37Welcome to the Chevrolet postgame.
43:45Here now, Mike Tirico.
43:49Well, those who stayed not only were rewarded, they are still in this stadium, Highmark Stadium,
43:57singing Mr. Brightside, which has become one of the anthems at many football stadiums.
44:02But the party is still going on here in Western New York.
44:06Absolute stunner as the Bills come all the way back to win.
44:0941-40, led by Josh Allen's 424 total yards.
44:13Ed Oliver big in the game.
44:15It's a massive forced fumble on Derrick Henry.
44:17Matt Prater just showed up this week, kicks the game-winning field goal.
44:22The stars of the night standing by with Melissa Stark.
44:25All right, guys.
44:26Well, Josh came over and said, what did that mean?
44:31There's just no quitting this team.
44:33Welcome to Buffalo.
44:34I mean, what a vet.
44:36Kicking the game-winning field goal in a tough, weird situation you don't see too often.
44:40He came in prepared, ready to go.
44:42Our team didn't quit.
44:43I mean, I think there's people that left the stadium.
44:45That's okay.
44:46We'll be fine.
44:47But have some faith next time.
44:49Yeah, you took the red eye.
44:51You don't know all of your teammates' names.
44:53How did you pull this off?
44:55It wasn't me.
44:56It was everybody.
44:57Offense setting it up.
44:59Reed and Brad with a snap and hold.
45:00They were money all day.
45:01So for me to come in, I just have to swing my leg.
45:04And they're doing everything else, the hard parts and blocking.
45:07So I was just fortunate to have an opportunity just to be in that situation to kick it.
45:10And massive celebration, right?
45:12After you did it, he came over.
45:15Your coach came over.
45:15What did everybody say?
45:16Oh, man.
45:17Welcome to Buffalo, basically.
45:18It was incredible.
45:20Awesome.
45:20It's awesome.
45:21And this is the final home opener here.
45:24You were just singing along with the crowd.
45:26What is it like to do this in front of these fans?
45:29It's unbelievable.
45:30I'm glad we can.
45:32I know we still have a lot of games here.
45:34You know, we were undefeated here at home.
45:37We got to play well here.
45:38Our fans help us out.
45:39And I'm just glad we can get it done tonight.
45:41And finally, how would you describe this win?
45:45I want to know.
45:46We got another game next week.
45:49We'll take them how we get them.
45:50Hang in there.
45:51Congratulations, guys.
45:52Go Bills.
45:54Just stunning stuff.
45:55We've all seen comebacks.
45:57The 28-3, obviously, in the Super Bowl.
45:59The 38-3 in this stadium.
46:01Frank Reich led comeback January 3rd of 1993 in the playoffs.
46:05That's a bigger comeback than this is, right?
46:07But, Chris, they scored 16 points in the last four minutes.
46:10Stunning.
46:11You need things to happen in your favor.
46:13And a few did.
46:14Yeah, the Derrick Henry fumble is absolutely what set it up.
46:18You know, there's no other way to say it.
46:20Henry had just such a sensational game all night long.
46:23And it was the mistake that gave hope that this could happen.
46:31And then to see Josh Allen just act like he thought he was going to take his team
46:37down the field for the win.
46:39And he's hitting, you know, Jackson Hawes, who just is like the blocking tight end.
46:44And some of the plays that that guy has made now over the last couple of years,
46:49he's putting himself in pretty rarefied air right now.
46:5216 for 21 for 251 yards and a touchdown pass is a good game.
46:57That was Josh Allen's fourth quarter.
46:59It was just remarkable.
47:02I'm with you.
47:03I mean, it just never, ever felt like they were going to stop the Ravens
47:07to give Josh Allen that chance.
47:10One play, one bad play, and here we are.
47:14And one and two in the MVP voting.
47:16It's one of those games you feel like the guy who's got the ball last wins
47:18and they weren't going to let Lamar Jackson get it.
47:21And Josh Allen held on to it.
47:23And if you've never seen a game like that before, you're right.
47:26That's the first 41-40 final score in the 106-year history of the National Football League.
47:30Well, of course it is.
47:31Absolutely, yes.
47:33For all of you Scorigami fans, there is one.
47:36And Matt Prater, who probably woke up a week ago not knowing he was going to be a Buffalo Bill,
47:41was practicing to stay sharp at a high school field in Arizona.
47:46He was not in a camp working with a team.
47:49And he kicks the game-winning field goal his first game as a Buffalo Bill.

49:14Sunday Night Football.
49:15Welcome to the new...
49:16Gonna sip it again.
49:18That's an Atlanta touchdown.
49:20He's here.
49:21What a play.
49:22Welcome to the new...
49:24Game two of season 20 will be in Minneapolis.
49:29Michael Penix Jr. and the Falcons lost.
49:32They had a chance for a tying field goal at the end that was just missed by Young-Wei Koo.
49:36But there are the numbers for Penix.
49:39We saw him with one of his three starts last year.
49:41This will be, Chris, his fifth start as he goes to Minnesota next Sunday.
49:46Very sharp.
49:47And JJ on the other side is going to get his chance to come out and show what he's capable of.
49:52But the depth at the quarterback position throughout the league right now is pretty incredible.
49:56We're seeing things like what we saw out here tonight almost on a weekly basis now.
50:02Super excited to watch JJ McCarthy get his NFL career started after sitting out that first year with a knee injury.
50:07And then he'll have that opportunity to be in one of the great environments in the league in Minnesota.
50:12This is always a great environment.
50:13But how about the fans who did leave a little bit early tonight?
50:16It'll be a question for the rest of their lives.
50:17Who left?
50:18Did you leave the stadium or not?
50:20And the other one that I can't get over is that I guarantee you Matt Prater never executed one of those kicks live running on the field.
50:29And I was thinking no way they're going to put him through that.
50:32There's going to be enough pressure.
50:33Just run around.
50:34Eat some clock.
50:35Do whatever you've got to do.
50:36Throw the thing away.
50:37Let him get set and make the kick.
50:39And he just strutted out there like it was an extra point.
50:41Like he was 41 years old.
50:43He's done this his whole life, right?
50:44It was awesome.
50:45I mean, just awesome.
50:46Quite a week one and one more game tomorrow night.
50:49And then we'll see it for week two in Minneapolis.
50:51Tomorrow morning, go inside the game on the Today Show.
50:54Bills faithful.
50:55They took to the water for the annual Bills Mafia Boat Parade in celebration of the new season.
51:00You can check it out tomorrow morning with Savannah and Craig on Today right here on NBC.
51:06Well, they're parading on their way home.
51:08I guarantee you that tonight.
51:09What a night in western New York.
51:11Bills 41, Ravens 40.
51:13The unbelievable opening week of this NFL season.
51:16Except on the West Coast, your local news is next.
