Why only 5% of associates make it to partner in biglaw.
Transcript
00:00estimated that only five percent of associates who enter big law actually make it to partner
00:04and here's why after about three or four years fifty to sixty percent of junior associates will
00:09have left big law already either to go in-house work in government or go to a smaller firm they
00:14move for a lot of reasons they don't like the lifestyle they paid off their debt or they want
00:18to explore other things like my case you can expect another twenty to thirty percent of them
00:22to leave in years four through six again similar reasons they have families burnout etc and of the
00:28remaining ten to fifteen percent who are senior associates about half of them will actually make
00:32partner the other half will stay on as of counsel or might just leave the firm because the firm is
00:36not willing to make a partner
