00:00A very mysterious incident at Heath Road Terminal 4 on Monday evening and confusion remains
00:09over how exactly 21 people were injured before police were called to a potential hazardous
00:17materials incident.
00:19A medical source told the PA news agency there was a substance and the injuries were not
00:27caused by people rushing from the scene, but the London Fire Brigade then insisted no elevated
00:35levels of hazardous materials were discovered.
00:39The BBC initially reported being told by a police source it was a mass hysteria event,
00:47but then removed that detail from later updates.
00:51The London Fire Brigade said the cause of the incident remained under investigation and
00:58earlier on Monday evening the airport had advised passengers not to travel to Terminal 4, while
01:07National Rail enquiries said trains were unable to call at the terminal because of this incident.
01:15According to the airport's website, flights from Terminal 4 were largely unaffected with
01:21only a few delays, while footage posted on social media showed passengers with their luggage waiting
01:31outside the airport with some wrapped in foil blankets.
01:37We understand Heathrow Airport and Terminal 4 are now operating normally.
