Transcript
00:00What is your job and how long have you been doing it for?
00:02I've been an attorney for four years now.
00:04Currently, though, I work in finance for a hedge fund.
00:06What law school did you go to?
00:07I went to St. John's Law School.
00:08What do you think was a key to you being able to initially break into this?
00:11Throughout my law school experience, I was told I have to go the law firm route first, which I did.
00:15I did it for nine months. I hated it.
00:16And I was trying to get out the entire time.
00:18What initially motivated you to actually get into law?
00:20One thing that I just wanted to do ever since I was a kid,
00:23I also come from an immigrant background.
00:24So it's just one of those things where your option is attorney, doctor, engineer, nurse, or failure.
00:30Okay.
00:31If you could go back in time to when you were in college,
00:33do you think there would have been anything you changed about the way you approached your career?
00:35No, because thankfully one of the good things about breaking into law
00:38is that you don't really have to major in anything specific, undergrad.
00:41What's one piece of advice that you give to any rising freshmen or sophomores who also want to break into law?
00:46Be motivated. Remember why you're doing it.
00:48And also network as much as you can.
00:49What's your best piece of networking advice?
00:51Don't be scared to be personable.
00:53People like to kind of get a sense of who you are, your background.
00:56So don't be scared of that.
