00:00Nico Hulgenberg has been told to box to retire the car.
00:04Oh man, are you serious?
00:06Ah, the disappointment.
00:10Five red lights in Monza.
00:13And the Italian Grand Prix is underway.
00:16Max Verstappen looking across at Lando Norris.
00:19He's got the inside line and they're wheel to wheel.
00:21They're side by side.
00:21He's on the grass.
00:22Lando Norris trying to take the lead of this one.
00:25Taking the widest possible line.
00:26Will they make it through?
00:28Max Verstappen goes off the road.
00:30Keeping the lead.
00:31Will they all make it through behind?
00:32Lando Norris will claim that he stayed on the racetrack
00:35and that he deserves the lead up to third position.
00:38Goes Charles Leclerc.
00:38He's gone past Oscar Piastri.
00:40Piastri can pass at this corner that we've seen before.
00:42But out front for the lead.
00:44Lando Norris trying to go around the outside.
00:46And Max Verstappen can't get there.
00:47And Leclerc will have a sniff.
00:49He's nearly nudging Lando Norris through that corner.
00:51It's Max Verstappen with the lead.
00:53Yeah, as predicted,
00:54then Lando needed to get his car up the inside there
00:57as Charles again with Oscar side by side through.
01:00The first Lesmo.
01:01And this time it's Piastri roaring back to take the place.
01:04Crucial for his chances of winning the Grand Prix.
01:08Yeah, what's this idiot doing?
01:11Come on.
01:12He's put me in the grass and he's just got the course.
01:14So that initial launch, you can see in that mid-phase,
01:19that's where Lando was able to get alongside Max.
01:22And then he just drove his straight line.
01:24Now, Lando was saying,
01:25look, he drove me on the grass.
01:26But in fairness to Max,
01:27he just drove the straight line.
01:28He was always going to try and run it around the outside on the brakes.
01:31Give back the position.
01:35The shout on the radio.
01:36They want to negate it.
01:37And there's going to be a change of lead.
01:39Max Verstappen is told to give the position back.
01:42To Lando Norris, who takes the lead.
01:44And as we go on,
01:45is there a chance now for Charles Leclerc to come back?
01:48Piastri all over the back of Max Verstappen.
01:50He went deep in the first turn.
01:52Look at Charles Leclerc, attacking out.
01:54They're racing side by side.
01:55Pass and repass at Monza.
01:57And Charles Leclerc goes back past.
02:00Extraordinary battling for third position.
02:03And Piastri tried to go back and that gap disappears.
02:06DRS is now enabled.
02:07We didn't need it.
02:08Norris out front.
02:11Okay, this is Estevan Ocon up against Lance Stroll.
02:14We're heading to the Roger.
02:15And this is the second chicane on the racetrack.
02:17On the second lap.
02:18And Stroll, a judge to be forced off the road.
02:21And that's a five-second penalty for Estevan Ocon.
02:25Through the heat, Hayes.
02:27And this is Lando Norris having to look in the mirror.
02:30Max Verstappen inching closer.
02:31He wants to retake the lead of this Grand Prix that he had to give up.
02:34Inside line for Lando Norris.
02:36Roaring around the outside.
02:38Will they make the corner?
02:39Unbelievable move to take the lead for Max Verstappen.
02:43Majestically measured from Verstappen, wasn't it?
02:45Has the low downforce, has the straight line.
02:47Speed, but then also manages to get the car stopped around the outside.
02:50I thought Norris was going to plow into him at the apex.
02:53And they both managed to get through there.
02:54So Verstappen is back into the lead.
02:58Fastest lap of the race for Max Verstappen.
03:00In the background, there's a move to the inside for Lewis Hamilton.
03:04Getting past his old rival, Fernando Alonso.
03:06Hamilton up to seventh position.
03:08Big moment for Oscar Piastri.
03:12Needs this position back to go and fight up against his title rival.
03:15Trying to do what Verstappen did a few laps ago.
03:18And Piastri powers by.
03:20He retakes third in this never-ending battle with Charles Leclerc.
03:23And immediately tries to break the slipstream and break away from the Ferrari.
03:29Lewis Hamilton wants another place.
03:31The crowd's cheer will tell you that he's got it.
03:33Up to sixth position.
03:35And Hamilton having a very old-school Lewis Hamilton race.
03:38He's been super aggressive so far.
03:40He's a five-time winner of the Italian Grand Prix.
03:43And he's picking cars off at will.
03:46Antonelli laid on the brakes.
03:48He's been waiting for this move.
03:49And he's got ninth position.
03:51That has been coming lap after lap after lap.
03:53And he's finally able to get by.
03:55Fernando Alonso is stopping.
03:59Suspension failure.
04:00This is unbelievable, mate.
04:03Exit of Ascari is what we're looking at.
04:05Over the curbs.
04:07And the failure of the part in that moment.
04:09The sparks out of the back.
04:10And the suspension fails.
04:12This is it in slightly quicker speed.
04:14The vibrations of the Formula One car over the curb.
04:16Breaking the car.
04:19This is Liam Lawson.
04:21Up against Yuki Tsunoda.
04:22Oh, banging wheels.
04:23And they're both going to go over the road.
04:26And the second chicane.
04:27What a screw, brother.
04:29And the place is given back here further along in the lap.
04:34Critical pit stop for Red Bull.
04:36Hits his marks.
04:37Tyres go on.
04:38He goes on to the hards.
04:40Will McLaren now react with the soft compound to try and fight back?
04:46Oliver Behrman having to deal with Carlos Sainz.
04:50He's got the momentum.
04:51Trying to go the long way around.
04:52There's the contact.
04:53Contact between the two of them.
04:56The yellow flag is out.
04:57Can the cars keep going?
04:58They can.
05:01Clean line into the braking zone.
05:04Leaves space.
05:05Well, on reflection.
05:07Didn't leave any space.
05:0810 second time penalty for Oliver Behrman for causing a collision.
05:10Albon very close to the grass coming out of the first chicane.
05:17He was on the grass.
05:18Yeah.
05:19He'll not be happy with Antonelli there who moved over to defend.
05:22And that's going to continue all the way down to the braking zone in the second chicane.
05:26Great view from on board.
05:27So battle of the brakes.
05:32Back-to-back titles incoming for McLaren.
05:34Soft tyres.
05:351.9 second stop for McLaren as well.
05:38Terrific work under race pressure.
05:39What's going on with Lando Norris here?
05:43What's going on with Lando Norris?
05:46A slow stop when it counts.
05:47A 5.9 second stop when it counts.
05:50And that is going to eradicate the advantage.
05:52Piastri has had access to the softer tyres.
05:55We are boxing the cars this way around to ensure you cover Leclerc.
05:59You are free with Lando once he's ahead of the exit.
06:02Through goes Oscar Piastri.
06:06Front left.
06:07You could see it took a while.
06:08They weren't sure.
06:09They went back at it.
06:10Wasn't done up properly, was it?
06:11The left front.
06:14Oscar, this is a bit like Hungary last year.
06:16We pitted in this order for team reasons.
06:17Please let Lando pass and you're free to race.
06:21I mean, we said that a slow pit stop was part of racing.
06:24So, I don't really get what's changed here.
06:27But we really want to do it.
06:29Team order issued.
06:33Team order listened to.
06:35Lando Norris given back the position.
06:38And the points will come down.
06:40It would have been 37.
06:41It's now going to be 31.
06:43Lando Norris restored to second place.
06:49Norris and Piastri have swapped places.
06:52Just because he had a slow stop?
06:53It's not our business, but I guess it keeps it fair between the drivers in terms of championship.
06:58You focus on the road ahead as well, please.
07:00But out of the parabolica for the 53rd and final time to take a third win of the season,
07:09Max Verstappen wins the Italian Grand Prix.
07:13His third win here in four years and surely his most satisfying one of the season.
07:20Way back, the dominant team of Formula 1 in 2025 had no answer to the Red Bull pace today.
07:27It's second place eventually.
07:29Philando Norris and Oscar Piastri completes the podium and leads the World Championship by 31 points.
07:38A sight to behold once again, especially if you're a Max Verstappen fan.
07:43Red Bull back on top with their third win of the year and the fastest ever race time in Formula 1 history.
07:51An hour and 13 minutes, the quickest race ever run in the history of the World Championship.
