00:00Assalamu alaikum dear brothers and sisters. When you hear about Muslims in China, you hear two

00:04different narratives. One, Uyghur Muslims are going through genocide. Two, Khuy Muslims,

00:07mashaAllah, they have their masjid, they have their religious freedom, they can pray, they can fast,

00:11and they seem very happy. In one side, you see the happy Khuy Muslim videos online. In another

00:16side, you don't see the videos of genocide and then you're getting confused. You end up believing

00:21what you see on the social media. Now, I am an Uyghur Muslim. However, my grandmother is Khuy

00:26Muslim. As someone carries Uyghur blood as well as Khuy blood, I think I deserve an explanation to my

00:31Muslim brothers and sisters around the world. Who are the Khuy Muslims? Many Khuy Muslims, they believe

00:36their lineage goes all the way through Prophet Muhammad and his companions. Khuy Muslims are the

00:42mixture of the companions of Prophet Muhammad and the Arab traders from that time with the local

00:47Chinese for the past 1400 years. Khuy Muslims were already inside China. They're integrated in China.

00:54They speak Chinese. They look like Chinese but they're Muslim. They're part of the greater Chinese

00:59identity. In another hand, Uyghurs are not Chinese. We don't speak Chinese. We're Turkic people. We have

01:06our own language and the culture and the custom. We had our own kingdoms and countries throughout the

01:11history. In 1949, Chinese Communist Party occupied our land. Khuy Muslims were already inside China. Their

01:18lands were not occupied because they were already Chinese citizens. For the past 70 years, Chinese

01:23Communist Party tried everything to eradicate our Turkic identity, our language, our culture,

01:30our custom. However, they were not able to do so. Do I give you a vibe that I want to accept the

01:35Chinese identity? Yes, you got it. Uyghurs never accepted the Chinese identity. In 2016, the Chinese

01:41government flipped the switch and it started committing large-scale genocide against Uyghur people

01:46because they were not successful for 70 years to assimilate Uyghur people. Now, when China is

01:52threatening the leadership of the United States of America, China wants Muslims as ally against

01:57United States of America. They are using Khuy Muslims as a camouflage to hide their genocide

02:02against Uyghur people. They push this narrative of, oh yeah, U.S. is using Uyghurs against China,

02:08but look at Khuy Muslims. They're very happy. Khuy Muslims are actually a PR propaganda for the

02:13Chinese Communist Party. They're using Khuy Muslims as a bridge to win the Muslim world and their support

02:19against the United States of America. Therefore, Khuy Muslims have a very special role in the Chinese

02:24foreign policy. That's why many Muslims, they blame Uyghurs for being Western propaganda. They would

02:29rather trust the Chinese Communist Party than their own Muslim brothers and sisters, Uyghur people.

02:35Honestly, we're used to it and we don't complain anymore because we know China has influence,

02:41China has money. They can build roads and bridges in your country. They can buy off your politicians.

02:45And unfortunately, Uyghur people, we don't have country. We don't have money. We don't have

02:49influence. But what we have is we have Allah. Hasbin Allah who niyam al-wakil. Allah is sufficient
