00:00Today, September 7, the Church celebrates an exceptional figure of our time, Carlo Acutis, the cyberapostle of the Eucharist.
00:12An Italian teenager, passionate about faith, computers and simple everyday life.
00:21In 2025, he officially became a saint, the first millennial to be canonized.
00:27Carlo was born in London in 1991 into a wealthy Italian family.
00:36Very quickly, his parents returned to live in Milan where he grew up.
00:40He's a boy like so many others.
00:42He likes playing soccer, he likes video games, he likes animals, especially his dog.
00:49But he has something unique, a living faith, a deep friendship with Jesus.
00:54From his childhood, he felt a great closeness to the Eucharist.
01:01From his first communion, he never missed daily mass.
01:06Carlo likes to repeat, “The Eucharist is my highway to heaven.”
01:13This simple and strong conviction guides his whole life.
01:16While many young people are searching for themselves, he lives his faith with astonishing freedom, without ever hiding.
01:27At the same time, Carlo is passionate about computers.
01:30Very early on, he taught himself to program, create websites, and work with images and videos.
01:36His technical talent impresses even adults.
01:42But instead of making a career out of it, Carlo decides to put his skills to the service of the Gospel.
01:49He is designing a major online exhibition on Eucharistic miracles around the world.
01:56This exhibition is still consulted on the Internet today.
01:59and presented in parishes, schools and even at World Youth Days.
02:06His daily life remains that of a normal young person.
02:11School, friends, walks, games.
02:16But he cares about others.
02:18He helps his comrades in difficulty.
02:20He defends those who are excluded.
02:23With his pocket money, he buys sleeping bags for the homeless.
02:28His life is a simplicity inhabited by God.
02:31At the age of 15, in 2006, Carlo fell seriously ill with fulminating leukemia.
02:41He quickly understands what is happening to him.
02:43And he offers his suffering for the Church and for Pope Nox XVI.
02:48A few days later, on October 12, 2006, Carlo fell asleep in the peace of God.
02:54He is buried in Assisi, the city of Saint Francis who loved him so much.
03:00Since his death, his testimony has touched thousands of people.
03:04Young people discover in him a model close to their life,
03:07a modern, simple teenager who proves that you can be a saint in jeans and sneakers.
03:11In 2020, Carlo was beatified in Assisi.
03:16His body now rests in a shrine where countless pilgrims come to pray.
03:22And today, September 7, 2025, Carlo is canonized in Rome.
03:28He becomes the first millennial saint, a light for an entire generation.
03:32His story reminds everyone that holiness is not a matter of distant centuries.
03:39It is possible here and now, in everyday life,
03:42in school, in sports, in digital technology, everywhere we choose love.
03:47Lord,
03:49You who gave Carlo Acutis a pure and ardent heart, help us to love you as he loved you.
03:56Grant that we may live our daily lives with joy,
03:59to put our talents at the service of others.
04:02And to find in the Eucharist the strength to move forward.
04:07Saint Carlo Acutis pray for us.
