00:00Ah, one of the very best parts of being a wrestling fan that, like all the other best
00:04parts of being a wrestling fan, doesn't involve any wrestling.
00:07The history books are full of absolutely BANGING wrestler entrance themes.
00:11Undertaker, Kane, Austin, Rock, The Brood, and we've even just lost some really good
00:15ones in the past few months.
00:17Aleister Black's WWE theme, Johnny Gargano's Rebel Heart.
00:20They just changed Sami Zayn's theme into a crushingly generic create your own wrestler
00:24rock nothing, but don't let that trick you into thinking that the golden age of entrance
00:27music is long gone, with AEW, New Japan, and even in WWE, some all timers are still knocking
00:33around and after a run a fairly negative list, let's celebrate some positives about the current
00:37wrestling product.
00:38Obviously we can't play any of the actual themes in this video as that is a one way trip
00:41to demonetization town population us, but we've attached links to all the ones we've
00:45mentioned in the description so you can listen along and like Mojo Rawley, god rest him, get
00:50seriously hyped.
00:51I'm Adam Haling from PartsFundNone and these are our 15 best current wrestler themes.
00:56And while you're here, why don't you sing the greatest song of all, the subscribe song.
01:01You all know the words, like and subscribe, aww yeah, isn't that catchy.
01:07Number 15, Bianca Belair, Tune.
01:09All the NXT graduates have the best themes courtesy of CFO money, CFO dollar sign, CFO cash, a pair
01:18of composers John Paul Alicastro and Michael Conrad Lowry, a pair that tragically no longer
01:23work with WWE after a legal dispute between them WWE and Arcade Songs their publisher.
01:28A crying shame because under CFOs, WWE were churning out iconic hits with a regularity
01:37not seen since Jim Johnston's heyday.
01:39Including a lot of honourable mentions on this list, Asuka, Becky Lynch but Bianca Belair
01:43tops them all in terms of sheer hype and swagger.
01:47Belair has been an obvious megastar ever since she first arrived in the big dub due to her poise,
01:51signature look and of course an entrance theme that never stops, never stopping.
01:55I'm on my own against the world.
01:57Number 14, Kazuchika Okada.
01:59A big part of a really good entrance theme is a signature sting, a sound right at the
02:03beginning of the theme to pop everyone huge before the music even kicks in.
02:07The rocks if you smell, Austin's glass shatter, edges you think you know me and then there's
02:12this.
02:13Kazuchika Okada's coin, a little metallic flick that lets everyone know the rainmaker,
02:17the ace of New Japan is in the building.
02:20What follows is a terrific entrance theme, godlike and grand, fast, befitting the man
02:25who makes the point of having the best entrances in the industry every single year.
02:29It has the thumping beat and flamboyant guitar of a classic video game fighter, which makes
02:33sense because look, here he is in Yakuza 6.
02:35Number 13, Sasha Banks.
02:37Sasha Banks had two themes in her WWE career and both of them rule.
02:41Her first, Sky's the Limit, had one of the best melodies in the business for a time,
02:45instantly catchy, joyous enough to be babyface, arrogant enough to be heel perfect for the
02:49boss.
02:50And then circa 2019, WWE asked, sure what if we had this theme but bred it with Samoa
02:54Joes and created something that sounds like something a mafia elephant would have accompanying
02:58it to the ring.
02:59The sheer amount of evil bass and brass is almost comical but Banks styles it out to create something
03:04with even more swagger and intent than before.
03:06Also Sasha got her little cousin a gig working on it, which is very nice of her, family needs
03:10to look after each other.
03:11Number 12, Orange Cassidy.
03:12There's a couple of benefits to AEW being run by a madly enthusiastic son of a billionaire.
03:17First, it means they can bankroll some of the best wrestlers in the world and provide
03:20actual alternative career opportunities to WWE.
03:23And second, it means they can throw money at licensed music by actual bands.
03:27AEW's roster has some true bangers on it.
03:30Jungle Boy's Tarzan Boy's a crowd worked delight.
03:32Darby Allens' Eiffel is as effortlessly cool as the man himself, but special mention has
03:37to be made of Orange Cassidy's, mostly because I'm a big Pixies fan.
03:40Tony getting out the checkbook to give OC Where Is My Mind is a wonderful move.
03:45It's a beautiful song, perfect for his character, serene but full of subtle aggression.
03:48Just brilliant, brilliant.
03:50Number 11, Walter.
03:51Love a bit of classical music in my wrestling.
03:53Damien Sandow's Hallelujah Chorus by Handel.
03:56Randy Savage's Pomp and Circumstance.
03:58Bryan Danielson's Ride of the Valkyries, although I don't actually like his new AEW remix.
04:02Sorry, don't at me.
04:03The flares with their various versions of also Sprach Zarathustra and then there's this,
04:07the theme for all of Imperium, but especially their Uber Ring General, Walter.
04:11Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 from The New World and that new world is governed by a final boss
04:16and the final boss will chop your f***ing tits off.
04:18The song reeks of intelligent cruelty and unstoppable violence,
04:21which are the two top qualifications on Walter's LinkedIn profile.
04:25Number 10, Rhea Ripley.
04:26I'm not sure if this will be a controversial inclusion,
04:28because who the hell knows what the internet thinks about anything anymore,
04:31but purely for my own taste, this song rules and genuinely is in contention for the best
04:36women's theme ever.
04:38Maybe alongside Lita's classic theme and Ayo Shirai's occasional theme, Scary Mask,
04:42which why isn't that her theme song all the time, please?
04:45The vocals on Rhea Ripley's theme are by Ash Costello and talk about killing it,
04:48and also her own vocal chords.
04:50Great Sting with This Is My Brutality and the rest of the track absolutely thunders along.
04:55Shame the Mania 37 performance didn't quite capture the song's fury.
04:59Number 9, Minoru Suzuki.
05:01Why does such a big horrible punch bastard have such a romantic power ballad for a theme,
05:05and why does it work so well?
05:07It's a beautiful bit of 80s cheese rock,
05:09which really undersells the fact that Minoru Suzuki is on his way to the ring
05:12to first kick a young lion in the goddamn head,
05:15and then elbow you until you become Dean Ambrose again.
05:17The only person in New Japan to have a better theme was Jushin Thunder Liger,
05:20and sadly that's now retired, leaving this as King of the Mountain.
05:24Frankly, if you don't bellow,
05:25kaze ni narei, then are you even breathing?
05:28Well, probably, you just don't know that much about Japanese wrestling,
05:31and that's absolutely fine.
05:32But if that is the case, listen to this song, because it's great.
05:35Number 8, Adam Cole.
05:36Who am I to argue with iTunes music charts?
05:39I guess, nobody, that's who.
05:40As soon as Adam Cole Baby debuted in AEW, his new theme,
05:44You Know It's All About The Boom, rocketed to the top of the metal charts,
05:47for a pretty simple reason.
05:49It's f***ing excellent.
05:50In some ways, a tuning up of familiar, undisputed era riffs.
05:53In other parts, it's own new, braggadocious beast.
05:56It's light years ahead of what NXT had him coming out to in his final month,
05:59and it's nice to see him have a song that's as enthusiastic about his own name as Adam Cole Baby is.
06:04Really great sting, stupidly catchy, it's a home run straight out of the gate.
06:07Number 7, Finn Balor.
06:09And speaking of amazing theme songs for amazing former NXT champions,
06:13quick sidebar before we talk about Catch Your Breath,
06:15isn't it f***ing mad that Bobby Roode doesn't have Glorious anymore?
06:18I actually checked recent Smackdowns, and even in singles matches,
06:21he's been coming out to the Dirty Dogs new theme, and that's s***.
06:24Otherwise, obviously it'd be on the list.
06:26Poor CFOs, oh, oh, oh, oh, money, ohs.
06:30Having all of their songs slowly stripped away from the product.
06:32F***ing hands off Finn Balor's though, it's as glorious as Bobby used to be.
06:36Brooding, grandly orchestral, imposing like an actual boss fight,
06:39and with the perfect hooks for legit one of the best call and response bits of crowd work ever.
06:43It would be the best theme music to ever come out of NXT, if not for...
06:46Number 6, Shinsuke Nakamura.
06:48God, Nakamura's really been through the ringer in WWE, hasn't he?
06:51I actually had to remind myself he was Intercontinental Champion.
06:53That's how bizarrely background his character has become,
06:56but at least his theme music's better than ever.
06:57A million Pat McAfee's can't be wrong.
07:00From the moment he stepped foot into TakeOver Dallas, the song was over like Rover,
07:03and even though they tried to dampen the crowd's love for it with a vocal version
07:06during his heel run, the crowd would not be dampened.
07:08If anything, the presence of Jack Black and Waluigi's love child Rick Boogs has made the theme
07:13even more epic You Keep Vibing Pat.
07:15Number 5, Kenny Omega.
07:17The words Final Boss are thrown around a lot when it comes to wrestler's entrance themes,
07:21and it makes sense.
07:21There's a rich vein of themes that exist purely to sell threat, impending doom,
07:26and world shattering menace.
07:27You know, Brock Lesnar, etc.
07:29Kenny Omega used to have one of those themes.
07:31Devil's Sky, his New Japan theme.
07:33Everyone knows that Kenny Omega is one of wrestling's biggest nerds,
07:36and has got a thing for old Cephas from Final Fantasy 7,
07:39and that was the perfect mix of choral orchestral threat.
07:41Then he made everyone very cross by ditching it for Battle Cry, his AEW theme,
07:45but bloody hell, it really grows on you to the point where I will die on the hill
07:49that it's better than his New Japan theme.
07:51It sounds like a metal version of a Mega Man boss theme, and it's wonderful.
07:55However, if you are missing a bit of Sephiroth in your wrestling, look no further than...
07:58Number 4, Roman Reigns.
08:00The Tribal Chief has out one-winged Angel, Kenny Omega, and that must really sting,
08:05but who cares, Roman Reigns' new music is astonishingly good.
08:09Probably the best bit of new music WWE has put out in a decade, or maybe more.
08:14Roman is going to be pushed as the greatest of all time, and if you're going to do that,
08:17this is the kind of music you give someone.
08:19The final bossest of final boss tracks.
08:22It's even got a harpsichord bit in it.
08:24No, for real, after the John Williams Jewel of the Fates meets Hans Zimmer intro,
08:28after the piano tinkling straight out of a classic horror movie, there's a harpsichord section!
08:32Outrageous!
08:33There's strings, explosions, it's so silly, so grandiose, and I love it to death.
08:37As long as he keeps this theme, long may Roman keep winning.
08:40Number 3, Chris Jericho.
08:42It's a song so good, it's single-handedly keeping Chris Jericho over.
08:45Okay sure, Y2J's a legend, no hot takes here.
08:48But as good as he is, his theme tune is a million times better.
08:51Especially now that he's a babyface and fans don't feel like they're betraying heel-face
08:54alignments by bellowing it with all their heart.
08:56Hearing the AEW fans sing The Excellent Judas by Chris Jericho's OK Band Fozzy,
09:01it feels special.
09:02It has that same tribal joy of AEW fans getting to enjoy something just for them.
09:06This late in his career, after Break the Walls Down, Roar is Jericho, The List,
09:10Stupid Idiot, just when you thought Jericho couldn't add anything more beloved and refreshing
09:14to his act, he drops the second greatest theme in AEW history to give his relevance and presence
09:19on the show a boost.
09:20Number 2, CM Punk.
09:22Doesn't quite feel right calling this the best AEW theme currently going after its years
09:27as Punk's WWE theme, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter.
09:30Cult of Personality by Living Colour rules.
09:32And if anything, Punk's reignited love of pro wrestling has transferred onto the theme
09:37itself, making it a true anthem of wrestling triumph.
09:40Beyond that, it's simply a very, very good song indeed.
09:43Rousing, catchy, perfectly suited to the incendiary nature that CM Punk cough used to have,
09:48cough, but above all else, it made Oli Davis cry.
09:51And such things are to be celebrated.
09:53Welcome back CM Punk.
09:55Welcome back Cult of Personality.
09:57And Number 1, Edge.
09:58Of course it f***ing is.
10:00It's a f***ing banger.
10:01Metal Ingers by Alter Bridge, and especially WWE's edit with the You Think You Know Me
10:05sting followed by the Storm of Drums.
10:07Oh man, it was and remains the greatest entrance theme of all time.
10:10On this day, I see clearly, and to hear it again during the 2020 Royal Rumble, man,
10:15moments don't come much more special than that.
10:18I imagine a lot of people will be very angry about some of the stuff missed off this list,
10:21but if you disagree about Number 1, I will personally put you in the bin.
10:25And that's our list.
