00:00Good afternoon and welcome to the White House. Innovations of first-generation humanoids,
00:18factory automation, and autonomous vehicles have surged from private sector investment.
00:25Every one of these advancements is powered by AI. The robots are here. Our future is no longer science fiction.
00:40Data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis shows that AI innovation is clearly boosting America's GDP growth.
00:51Surely this is not a trend, for AI will serve as the underpinning of every business sector in our nation, including education, life sciences, finance, and design.
01:07In fact, I predict AI will represent the single largest growth category in our nation during this administration,
01:18and I won't be surprised if AI becomes known as the greatest engine of progress in the history of the United States of America.
01:28We must manage AI's growth responsibly. During this primitive stage, it is our duty to treat AI as we would our own children,
01:43empowering, but with watchful guidance.
01:47We really imagine a future where every student, regardless of their background or location, can learn anything in the world in a way that works best for them.
01:57We've been really focused on this for decades. It's why we built Chromebooks for every classroom,
02:03why we have worked to make our AI model, Gemini, one of the best models for learning.
02:09It's why we are offering our Gemini for education to every high school in America.
02:13We are providing access to every high school student and every teacher with our best AI tools, including guided learning.
02:21We recently committed $1 billion over the next three years to support education and job training programs in the U.S.
02:28And today, I'm excited to share that $150 million of that $1 billion will go towards grants to support AI education and digital well-being.
