00:39it is the closest security cooperation we have ever had
00:44maybe with any country, but certainly in the history of U.S.-Mexico relations
00:48I think that much credit is deserved to President Scheinbaum and her administration
00:52in really taking on things that have not been taken on for a very long time
00:56as one example of 59 high-value targets, people we wanted into the United States
01:01to face charges for narco-trafficking
01:04it was Mexican authorities who moved them out of jails
01:06and transported them themselves into American facilities
01:10where they will stand trial
01:11and we believe not just serve the rest of their lives in jail
01:14once a jury hears their case
01:16but perhaps we'll share valuable information
01:19that will allow us to identify even more dangers that confront our countries
01:22because of our geography, we will always be neighbors
01:25and that means we will always share common problems
01:28whether they be migration
01:29the migration numbers today at the U.S. southern border
01:32are the lowest they have ever been
01:34they have ever been
01:35and that is due and thanks and great credit to President Trump
01:38for the efforts he's undertaken
01:40but I think also to the efforts of the authorities here in Mexico
01:43who have viewed irregular migration as a threat
01:46to their own security
01:48just remember
01:48just remember that a significant percentage of the people
01:52that were crossing the U.S. southern border
01:53illegally into the United States
01:55were not from Mexico
01:56they were coming from all over the world
01:58from multiple continents
02:00from halfway around the world
02:01they were coming from Somalia
02:02they were coming from everywhere
02:03and crossing through Mexico into the United States
02:06and that was not good for Mexico
02:08and that certainly was not good for the United States
02:10and we have seen those numbers drop historically
02:13and that would not have been possible
02:14without the close cooperation between our two governments
02:17but there's more to do
02:18which is why today we are formalizing
02:20an implementation group
02:22and so that sounds like a fancy term
02:25that means nothing
02:26but it means a lot
02:27this is a high level group
02:28that will meet and coordinate on a regular basis
02:31to make sure that all the things we are working on
02:33all the things we have agreed to work on
02:35are happening
02:36are being implemented
02:37so this has been a very productive visit
02:39and we will have many more
02:41we've talked many times
02:42we'll be in touch many more times
02:44because there's still a lot of work to do together
02:46but this is an important
02:49and I believe a significant day
02:50in the relations of our two countries
02:52as we are able to continue to formalize
02:55this unprecedented, historic
02:57and so far highly successful
02:59security cooperation
03:01between the government of Mexico
03:03and the government of the United States
03:04and so forth three decades

03:06until we continue to talk to the United States
