00:00This video was posted by a Japanese man, Kaito, currently travelling in India.
00:10What was meant to be a casual scooty ride with his friend from North East India,
00:13soon took a serious and unsettling turn.
00:15According to Kaito's friend, who has remained anonymous for safety reasons,
00:19she began receiving phone calls from the police shortly after uploading the video.
00:23The calls allegedly included threats demanding the video be deleted,
00:26with the officers claiming they would forgive the duo if they complied.
00:30The incident occurred on 25 August 2025, just 10 minutes after Kaito had purchased
00:35a pair of Ray-Ban MetaSmart glasses from a nearby market.
00:38Ironically, the glasses ended up recording what would become key evidence.
00:47They were initially stopped because only one of them was wearing a helmet.
00:50When they requested a receipt for the fine, the officers reportedly refused.
00:54More concerningly, the police exchanged phone numbers with Kaito's friend,
00:57under the pretense of helping them if they were stopped again.
01:00However, she later claimed to have received multiple missed calls,
01:03ordering her to delete the video.
01:09He suggested they were being singled out for not looking Indian.
01:12As the video gained views online, many have come out in support of Kaito and his friend.
01:17For Kaito, the incident was a rude awakening, a first-hand experience of what many would
01:21describe as a bribe. In response, the Gurugram police have suspended three officers involved in the incident.
