00:00On average, 3,300 children are injured and eight kids die in the U.S. from window falls alone.
00:08Our collective attention is needed to prevent future tragedies.
00:13Teach your children about window safety and explain it in a way that they can understand,
00:17like windows are for looking and not touching.
00:20Remember that typical window screens are designed to keep insects out, not keep your kids in.
00:25Teach your children not to push against windows or lean against screens.
00:29It's not just the child's responsibility to stay away from windows.
00:33You need to watch always and ensure that your windows are protected and secure
00:36before your child inevitably gets too curious.
00:39Window safety devices are inexpensive, easy to install, and can save the life of your child.
00:44Talk to your landlord about getting them installed, or you can install them yourself.
00:50It truly takes an all-hands effort to prevent accidents,
00:53so please ensure your windows are as safe as possible to protect your little ones.
