00:00This has been a number one issue on the doorstep. Whenever I see residents, there have been concerns of speeding on Hartwell Way.
00:09I've been contacted by so many residents. Every resident meeting I attend, this has been the number one issue on the agenda.
00:16I've had a few meetings with council officers. We would like to see traffic calming measures put in place on this part of the area.
00:24In the past, I did get speed cushions put up on Mare's Walk. We're collaboration signs in Hope Park Road and Hartwell Way is next and we need action here.
00:36In the evenings, you can see cars going down there 60, 70 mile an hour. They go the wrong side of the bollards and nothing's being done about it.
00:46I mean, obviously there's a lot of families that live around here. Is lots of people concerned about it?
00:52A lot of people are concerned and speak to me about it. There's children across the road at Hartwell to go to the schools and the cars don't slow down. They just keep speeding.
01:02I've seen four fatalities because of speeding on this estate. There's 2,000 people on here and we've got two schools and we've got a kindergarten.
01:16And 9 o'clock in the morning and 3 o'clock in the afternoon. It is utter chaos here. People speeding around the estate and trying to get in front of each other.
01:32And I've seen one car went completely through a garage here. He couldn't get out of the spin. And it's absolutely chaos. And even if the police came, they couldn't do a lot about it because of the speed they go in.
01:52And there's that many. And at night it becomes a racetrack. And you've got motorbikes and cars and they don't care.
02:03And if you're going at the right 30 mile an hour, they will overtake on the opposite bollards. And you've only got about 50 yards and you've got a car coming at you.
02:17And I'm surprised there's not been some more crashes.
