Hockey Asia Cup daily digest: India make it 3 out of 3 as forwards finally click

India produced a statement performance to dismantle Kazakhstan 15-0 to end the pool phase with a 100 percent win record. Ahead of the crucial Super 4s stage, the Indian forwards finally found their groove with field goals finally coming for the hosts in Rajgir.

00:00Hello and welcome to ITGD Sports and today we have wrapped up the pool stages of Hero Asia Cup

00:072025. We had four matches today and wow it was a goal fest let's to say the least. You had India,

00:17Malaysia, Korea all serving up goals on this day but let's get to the super force first.

00:25Korea and China they have booked their places in the super force they will be joining India and

00:30Malaysia and we have our field set top four teams they have made it. Japan would feel a little

00:36unlucky that they did not make it. Bangladesh put up a fight they did well but obviously they were

00:43also not able to perform in front of the defending champions. So let's start with the first match

00:49the first match started with Korea and Bangladesh facing off against each other and it was of

00:56thrilling performance from Korea. Korea were not up to the mark against Malaysia. Dane Son their main

01:03man was kind of you know tied down in the end against Malaysia but today he started off the

01:10scoring for them and they quickly raced into a 3-0 lead. Bangladesh did come back and it was 4-1

01:18for a long period of time but then at the end they got a penalty stroke they scored and it was a 5-1 win

01:24Korea go to the next round. Malaysia versus Chinese Taipei well Malaysia were in a different league.

01:32They just set down the marker I think along with India in terms of performances and getting out wins

01:38Malaysia have been a class apart. Their coach was very very humble in his view of his team

01:47saying that India are the favourites but his team are genuine genuine famous. Akimullah

02:00Chinese Taipei. 15-0 which was the highest score margin this tournament or so we thought

02:08and then we had China versus Japan. Now this Chinese team is genuinely I would say one of the contenders

02:16for the title. Yeah they again they will also say that oh we are ranked 22 India are the favourites

02:23they could say all that but the way that they had set out a plan against Japan. Japan were on the

02:29front foot they were constantly attacking but you did not see for even one moment that Japan

02:36Japan were able to you know shake China their belief that they are going to get a positive result.

02:49so far and they progressed to the next round. Now coming to India the the hosts well 15-0 how's that
