00:00The National Maritime Council guarantees no adjustments will be made in the RORE mission at PRP Sierra Madre.
00:08Meanwhile, the Council also highlighted the provincial understanding between the Philippines and China is still in effect, as our Patrick DeJesus reports.
00:19There will be no changes in the provisional understanding between the Philippines and China regarding PRP Sierra Madre.
00:27This was assured by the National Maritime Council or NMC even after monitoring more Chinese vessels around a Union Shoal,
00:35coinciding with the recent drills of the China Coast Guard which included the deployment of armed reefs and fast boats.
00:42The provisional understanding on RORE missions at PRP Sierra Madre has been in effect since last year.
00:49After the June 2024 incident wherein a Filipino soldier lost a finger due to harassment by the CCG,
00:57according to the NMC, the Department of Foreign Affairs is monitoring whether China will commit any violations of the agreement.
01:06Hindi naman nabago yung provisional understanding between our country and China.
01:14So our Department of Foreign Affairs and their counterpart are actually still talking.
01:19So we just leave it that way.
01:22Yung mga increase in their presence, expected namin yun, it will be a reaction on their part.
01:28The PLA Navy warship 164 has not been sighted in the West Philippine Sea
01:45since its collision with China Coast Guard Vessel 3104 last month in Scarborough Shoal.
01:51Like the damaged CCG vessel currently docked at a naval base in Hainan Province, China.
01:58Thus said, PLA Navy warship may also have undergone repairs according to the NMC.
02:06Meanwhile, in connection with the start of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month,
02:12Philippine Navy and Philippine Coast Guard vessels simultaneously sounded their horns in different parts of the country.
02:21and also raised the Philippine flag in the continuing fight for the nation's rights in the West Philippine Sea.
02:30One of the challenges is the spread of false information by China.
02:34That is why the current administration continues to implement the Transparency Initiative
02:40to raise awareness among Filipinos on the WPS issue
02:44and to ensure its importance is preserved for future generations.
02:49They manipulate narratives and they twist facts, attempting to create confusion among our citizens.
02:58But let me be clear, this information and misinformation will not shackle our spirit.
03:06We must rally together, standing one, shoulder to shoulder.
03:11Ang laban ng West Philippine Sea will never end in 2020.
03:29Patrick Dezus from the National TV for a new and better Philippines.
