00:30Some people might say, well, the first place the Beatles played and became famous was on the Cavern Club.
00:50But you've got to be honest and say, no, they played on the Kasbah first.
00:55Mona Best had a little club in the basement of her house called the Kasbah.
01:00John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe, obviously Pete Best since our mother owned the house.
01:11I love John because John was his own person.
01:15You never knew what mood John was in until he started talking to him.
01:19He used to cross the line and try and be a proper teddy boy.
01:22And they scared the daylights out of him.
01:26Paul is such a very good, you know, with press and people.
01:30Law-abiding and studious. Did his homework on time.
01:35What would you like to do, George? What would you like to be?
01:38He said, oh, I want to be a bus driver or a conductor like me dad.
01:43I would pass Ringo as the happy little. You know, he was always dancing.
01:46They were all popular. But Pete is the one.
01:50In my departure from the band, no, there was no inkling at all whatsoever.
01:54And, you know, that's still a mystery today.
01:57Their first show in Liverpool as the Beatles was on the 17th of December 1960
02:02here at the Kasbah Coffee Club.
02:05And this was the stage that they played on.
02:07.
