00:00I understand the pressures that families face around school uniform.
00:03I believe that children can look smart at school without accosting parents the earth.
00:07Having a school uniform is an important part of the school's identity.
00:10It's about being part of that community.
00:12But over recent years, we've seen schools insisting on too many expensive branded items.
00:17It's why we're changing the law to limit those numbers.
00:19So a maximum of three in primary and three in a tie of those branded items in secondary.
00:25But I've also called on schools ahead of that legislation passing through Parliament.
00:30In its final stages to start that process of bringing down costs to parents.
