Philippine volleyball icon Alyssa Valdez expresses her admiration for Filipina tennis star Alex Eala, and says that she’s her 'hero.' Valdez shared how Eala ignited her love for the sport once again, and showed her support for the 20-year-old tennis sensation. The 32-year-old Valdez also recalled the time when she was the same age as Eala and understood the immense pressure that came with being an athlete. Valdez, at 20, became a volleyball sensation in the Philippines after her remarkable performance in the UAAP.

01:08Kasi, always, always, always say pressure is such a huge privilege. And it will shape her, it will, siguro, mold her to become someone na icon talaga, legend.
01:24And mayan pa lang, yun na siya. So, what more sa mga susunod na may papakita niya pa para sa ating bansa.
01:31So, I know, it's just so, siguro, obvious and very evident naman na napakaganda na support system ni Alex Ayala.
01:41And kitang-kita mo sa performances niya, buong-buo siya, dahil buong-buo din ang support na sa kanya ng mga, siguro, circle niya.
01:49And I think that's one thing na very important right now in her career. To have that circle, to have that support system, to keep going.
01:57And, hindi lang, ang masasabi ko lang kay Alex, meron din siya ang mga kababayan, andito din kami, mga kababaihan, at lahat ng tao sa sports community na sumusuporta sa kanya at lalaban din para sa kanya any time of the day.
