00:00Half the fun of our relationship was the mystery!
00:02Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking over the most beloved, successful and just
00:08plain fun DC animated series to come out over the last 10 years.
00:12Whether they're aimed at adults or kids, as long as they got fans clamoring for more
00:16superhero spectacles, they count.
00:17I can taste him here...tastes like...disappointment.
00:2610. King of Atlantis If you haven't heard of this undersea animated
00:31mini-series, we wouldn't blame you.
00:33Created by James Wan, it's technically a sequel to the first live-action Aquaman movie, but
00:37as you can plainly see, sets itself apart from the DCEU.
00:40Yeah, I'm gonna pass.
00:42I'm good.
00:43King Aquaman has refused the challenge!
00:46Ocean Master is the new king!
00:48Oh yeah!
00:49I'm back!
00:50You can give me a speech!
00:51Let me hear it!
00:53That's not how it works, right?
00:55That is...
00:56No.
00:57That's almost exactly how it works.
00:58Yep.
00:59Colorful, tongue-in-cheek, and barring an art-style unfraid of diving head first into the uncanny
01:03valley.
01:04King of Atlantis was a short-lived screwball show that showcased how a day in the life of
01:08Aquaman is not an easy one.
01:10Yo!
01:11Aquaman!
01:12Ocean Master's got your trident!
01:13Oh man!
01:14I would not want to be in your position!
01:16Ha ha ha!
01:17This is so embarrassing for you!
01:19Ha ha ha!
01:20Ah!
01:21Oh!
01:22So embarrassing!
01:23Dare we say all three of its episodes provided more joy than the entirety of The Lost Kingdom?
01:31This way!
01:32No!
01:33This way!
01:34Whoopsie!
01:35Ha ha!
01:36Ha ha!
01:37Over here!
01:38Number 9.
01:39Suicide Squad Isakai
01:40If you're a long-term anime fan or at the very least familiar with the isakai sub-genre,
01:45then you won't find any surprises when it comes to this show's laundry list of tropes.
01:49Yeah, I mean, does my hair look okay?
01:52Transported to a fantasy land, magical transformations, princesses to save, monsters fights, you name it.
01:58It's here.
01:59What?
02:00I'm trying to think!
02:01Ha ha ha!
02:03The only difference this time is that it features Harley Quinn and the rest of her squad,
02:07who all bring their own brand of quirks and chaos to the forefront.
02:10For Harley fans, this is a must.
02:12Oh, and it also features King Shark channeling his inner Sailor Moon, which is something we
02:17didn't know we needed in our lives.
02:29Number 8.
02:30DC Superhero Girls
02:32You must vacate this business or dwelling immediately.
02:36You are interfering with lawful demolition protocols.
02:39You have 10 seconds to comply.
02:41Oh, yeah?
02:42Well, you got 10 seconds to say your prayers!
02:44Channeling the same manner of infectious energy as the Powerpuff Girls, what was once a series
02:48of shorts has become the DC cartoon for a younger female audience.
02:53Going from a web series all the way to an episodic powerhouse, the show primarily focuses on the
02:58likes of Wonder Woman, Zaytana, Supergirl, Batgirl, Jessica Cruz's Green Lantern, and Bumblebee
03:03as they navigated life as superheroes, as well as high school students.
03:07Is this a challenge?
03:08For you, maybe.
03:10Very well.
03:11I should allow you first strike!
03:13Bright and bubbly, yet always staying true to the core of the characters, it's the kind
03:17of coming of a show you could heartily recommend to any young audience.
03:20Not too often you see 100% in AP Calculus.
03:23Is what I'd be saying if it weren't for Diana over here!
03:27102%!
03:28Incredible!
03:29Number 7, Justice League Action.
03:32While it doesn't quite reach the greatness of either Justice League or Justice League
03:36Unlimited, mainly given how short each episode's run time is, there's still plenty of fun to
03:40be had here.
03:41Firestorm and the Professor fixed the Phantom's zone projector!
03:44And don't worry about those kryptonite chains!
03:46Firestorm's absorbing all the green energy coming this way!
03:50Ha ha!
03:51It's like having your own alien heat lamp!
03:52If anything, given the abundance of characters, the speed of the plot, and the lighter aesthetic,
03:57it comes across as more akin to Batman the Brave and the Bold, which is never a bad thing.
04:01My magic has grown twice as strong since my recent imprisonment.
04:05I know you are, but what am I?
04:08I don't think he's using that right.
04:11Plus, it's always great to hear the cast of the original J. Elves slip back into their
04:15iconic roles.
04:16While it's a shame it doesn't have more meat on its bones, there's worse ways to spend
04:20your time than binging this animated kaleidoscope.
04:22Congratulations!
04:23You saved the world!
04:25Apparently, you saved many worlds.
04:32Number 6.
04:33Kite Man!
04:34Hell yeah!
04:35There were many standout side characters to come out of Harley Quinn's titular animated
04:39romp, but none captured our hearts or made us lav up a storm quite like Kite Man.
04:43Who's Kite Man again?
04:44Hey, you know me!
04:45I got a kite!
04:46Say hell yeah!
04:47Do a solid Borat impression!
04:49About what?!
04:50So for him to get his own show was a huge win in our books.
04:53Doesn't hurt that the humor hits just as hard.
04:56I don't wanna kill you, Chuck.
04:58I know you don't, babe.
05:00That's what makes it hero stuff.
05:02Instead of being left as a comedic footnote after his engagement with Poison Ivy went south,
05:07the fearless former D-list villain rises from the ashes and opens up a bar.
05:11One that's frequented by DC's heaviest hitters.
05:14Alongside a newfound relationship with Golden Glider, this spin-off flawlessly leaps between
05:18blood-soaked gags and tender romance.
05:20Our boy is finally winning at life and we are here for it.
05:24Babe.
05:25Babe.
05:26Babe.
05:27Babe.
05:28Babe.
05:29Babe.
05:30Will you make me the happiest small business owner in the world and buy this bar with me?
05:34Number 5.
05:35Young Justice Outsiders and Phantoms.
05:37Okay, we might be slightly cheating here, but can you really blame us?
05:41Young Justice exploded onto the scene with two incredible seasons that brought maturity
05:45and depth to the lesser known heroes and villains of the DC universe.
05:59The stories were sprawling, the action was epic and then it got cancelled.
06:03That is until it was brought back from the grave six years later, giving us two additional
06:07seasons and to no one's surprise, they knocked it out the park.
06:11But knowing and proving are two different things.
06:13Is that your excuse?
06:15Don't any of you see how truly compromising this is?
06:18This is a war, Diana.
06:20Heroes were driven to their darkest depths, issues such as mental health were tackled with
06:24poignancy, all the while it maintained that same level of excitement we had come to expect.
06:28We can only hope Season 5 is around the corner.
06:31If you take this, we'll fold Batman Inc. back into the league and the team on your terms.
06:38It's for the best, for the mission.
06:41Number 4.
06:43Caped Crusader.
06:44While it's not a sequel to the much beloved Batman the Animated Series, Caped Crusader very
06:48much inherits its spirit.
06:49But I'll tell you what made tonight truly unforgettable.
06:53It was learning that one of my sweet precious little angels sold me out.
07:00Taking place in a reimagined Gotham, the series plays out like a period piece, police procedural
07:05feature in the Dark Knight.
07:06The alternative takes on the likes of classic villains, the focus on Batman's skills as
07:11a detective as he rooted out corruption, all of it was a breath of fresh air.
07:14Whether it can eventually rise up to match its legendary predecessors remains to be seen,
07:27but so far, this noir has knocked it out the park.
07:30Number 3.
07:40My Adventures with Superman.
07:41The Man of Steel has had numerous animated incarnations over the years, so to say this
07:46one might just be one of the best is high praise indeed.
07:49A normal man having a normal day, huh?
07:56Who am I?
07:57Taking inspiration from anime with its aesthetic and interpretation, watching a young Clark Kent
08:01come into his own as the world's greatest hero while taking on everything from aliens
08:05to robots is pure delight.
08:07But let's be honest, we all know the real hook here is Lois and Clark's relationship.
08:11You're amazing.
08:12I love going on adventures with you, Clark.
08:15I love your brilliance.
08:17I love your kindness.
08:18I love...
08:20I love...
08:24Their chemistry is so off the charts, it's astounding.
08:27Equal parts wholesome and spicy.
08:29The Big Blue Boy Scout is getting a lot of love these days, and we're thrilled to see
08:33such a different yet deserving take on his legacy continue to shine.
08:36I'm so glad you're okay.
08:37I'm sorry I ruined our date.
08:39Number 2.
08:40Harley Quinn.
08:41If you had told us back in the day that an animated black comedy series focused on the
08:45highs and lows of Harley Quinzel was one of the best DC shows ever made, we would have laughed in your face.
08:51You're Harley Quinn!
08:52That's right.
08:53So either forgive my dad's debt or I'll kill all of you.
08:56That ain't how our business works.
08:58Yeah, it's based on loan.
09:00But as we all know, it's Harley's world and she's laughing all the way to the bank.
09:05Dumping the Joker for a solo gig, Harley's shift from wannabe villain to a somewhat redeemed anti-heroine never fails to land with its gags.
09:13I'm just going to put her in the Phantom Zone where she'll rest for all of eternity.
09:18Then send me there too!
09:19Uh, alright.
09:20Wow, this is so dramatic.
09:23It's like a CW show if the cast was less hot.
09:26Made all the stronger by a terrific supporting cast.
09:29One of Modern's animation best romances and some truly gripping writing, unafraid to explore the dark nuances of Harley's character.
09:36You're trying to grow and actually doing it.
09:40And that, I mean for me, that's what matters.
09:43I love you, Ive!
09:46I love you too, Harley.

10:02Number one, Creature Commandos.
10:06Kicking off the DCU in a big, brilliant, and bloody way, Creature Commandos presented us with a question that we didn't know we needed.
10:13What happens when you put together a bunch of monsters, make them a mercenary team, and send them off to save the world?
10:19This is your new Task Force flag.
10:22Let's call it Task Force M.
10:24M for monster.
10:26Also known as...
10:27A hell of a good time in a colossal body pile.
10:32That's what.
10:33Replacing the Suicide Squad as Amanda Waller's hit team of choice, getting to see the Bride of Frankenstein, G.I. Robot, and the rest fight their way through one perilous mission after the next is an absolute hoop.
10:43You wanted monsters?
10:45You got monsters.
10:47And in typical James Gunn fashion, the ensemble are as broken as they are compelling.
10:52Still can't believe this show made us care for the weasel of all people.
10:56I wonder what he's dreaming about.
10:58Probably just chasing squirrels.
11:01Which of these DC shows is at the top of your list?
