Ian McShane refused to watch the "John Wick" prequel series, and says he and Lance Reddick had their own idea that was "much more interesting."

00:00We had a whole thing worked out from the beginning. I always felt that they'd both

00:03been government employees. He actually working from Africa, maybe for the CIA,

00:10and I was working for MI5, and they'd known each other for 30 years. And then when obviously

00:16government work comes to an end, you go into the private business. You know, I never saw them as

00:21the product of whatever. I think they did some TV show about the prequel about our characters,

00:28but they didn't know. I never saw it because I didn't agree with the premise of it, because the

00:32premise was much more interesting than that. I thought there were two people that were,

00:36because they're far too sophisticated. They weren't criminals, but where do you put your

00:41expertise, which has been involved in spying and nefarious attitudes? When you leave government

00:46service, you take it to the private business. And so that was always behind our thoughts of the

00:51characters. And Lance wanted to get involved with the action, which he did in the number three. And

00:56they always said to me, no, no, I don't want to do any fighting. Thank you very much. No,
